One eighty seven: News of his mother

Ivan took a step forward into the room with Janet following his movement. He walked in and flicked on the lights for a better view of the man made heaven and his eyes took in the details of the enormous room one by one.

A dark satin curtain hung from the top of the floor to ceiling window and it glistened like a dark night sky decorated with several blinking stars under the dim light in the room.

A golden chandelier hung from the distant ceiling with lights all about it and it dropped down looking so close yet far away.

A round golden table stood by the side of the largest bed Ivan had ever seen yet not large enough to take up half of the space in the room. On top of the table was a white lamp shade dimly lit to illuminate the corner where it stood.

He walked towards the bed and that was when he realized he was still barefooted. His bare feet tingled from the touch of the fury rug placed at the center of the room and the comfort was unbelievably real.
