Seventy-one: The end of happiness

The water was warm against her skin and the scented candles and rose petals created a tantalizing aroma that lingered in the bathroom and caressed her nostrils.

The shadow of the flames on the candle as they danced reflected on her face in the dark and it magically soothed her.

Mrs Andrews raised the glass of red wine to her lips and took a sip from it before returning back to where it was.

A sigh escaped her mouth as she stared at the flames of the candles as they performed a dance ritual, moving in a symmetrical rhythm.

A drop of tear rolled down her face and dripped into the water she was sitting in. There was nothing that helped her relieve stress like spending a long while in the bathtub.

If only she hadn't gotten married to a monster like Mr Andrews, maybe she would have been happy. Maybe her beauty would still sweep men off their feet.

Even with all the expensive cosmetics she used on a family basis, she was still aging rather quickly due to the way she lived.
