Chapter seven : the waterfall

"Come with me Elvis," Thomas said as they left for the entrance into the building while the others began to separate themselves on twos to different spots on the field.

Thomas and Elvis walked into the building as they headed for the staircase. They made their way up and when they arrived at the electricity department class they realized that the hall was empty.

"Where are your friends?" Elvis asked and Thomas frowned at him.

"Don't act like you have no clue," Thomas said as he took out his phone then texted Elise and immediately after that they were interrupted by the sound of the door opposite them and Thomas looked only to see Jerry walk out of Kelvin's office.

Thomas would have called his name but when he had a flash of their clash earlier i restrained himself as all they did was stare at each other.

"What is the problem?" Elvis said but Thomas ignored him.

Jerry drifted his gaze to Elvis. "Who is this and why is he here Thomas? i thought Kelvin said that no one Else was supposed to come with us,"

"I had no choice. Whereas it's not as if we are on good terms. Not after what you did out there," Thomas said.

Jerry heaves a sigh as he walks up to him. "I didn't mean what I did earlier. i did it because of the people but don't expect me to apologize because I don't like to,"

"Well you have to learn how to," Thomas interrupted him as the door fluttered open and Elise walked in with Vicki.

"Seriously, what is going on here?" Jerry furrowed his eyebrows at Thomas.

"It's none of your business Jerry. Text the others Elise," Thomas said.

"Sure," Elise took out her cell phone. "Hi Ana, we just arrived, you and Felix should start coming," She read the text aloud then stock the phone back into her side pocket as she lifted her gaze to meet Jerry's furrowed eyebrows.

"Please don't stare at me that way, I was the person Kelvin had told Thomas to carry along," Elise said as she walked past Jerry towards one of the chairs.

"This was never the agreement Thomas, and I won't take you to Kelvin's room if you don't send them away," Jerry said.

"It's of no use because we already know the plan. Elvis, can you make him understand please," Elise said as Jerry turned to meet Elvis countenance.

"I think it's the secret tunnel inside Kelvin's room. Cleaver plan I guess," Elvis said as he lifted his eyebrows.

"I know what you might be thinking, but I didn't say a word to them," Thomas interrupted as the door opened again.

"I'm here," Felix walked inside with Ana as Jerry turned to see his teeth wide open. "What did I miss?" Felix asked and Jerry ran his hand through his blue hair.

"Jerry…"

"Enough Thomas!" Jerry exclaimed as he turned again to meet Thomas' gaze. "This was never a part of the plan. We were never supposed to tell anyone about it and no level of explanation will change that fact,"

"Before you say that you must know that we are all going to be of help," Elvis said and Jerry turned furiously to him.

"You! What do you think you are anyways? Don't you know that I can drain the life out of you if you don't shut up!"

"Excuse me," Felix interrupted. "No one threatens anyone when I am here,"

"And who in the world do you think you are?" Jerry said to him as Ana swings her arm around Felix's shoulder with her fixed gaze on Jerry.

"You should take it easy the way you speak to him unless he will set your blue hair on fire," Ana said.

"He is from the fire class?" Jerry whispered as Felix shone his teeth again.

"I am a mind reader, Ana and Elise are dimension openers, Vicki manipulates matter so we will all be useful in one way or another," Elvis said.

Jerry saw that he had no other option but to carry all of them along since he doesn't want to get his head smoking in fire.

"Listen, I have no say on this matter. Kelvin might not take you all along but let's just hope he does. You should all follow me," Jerry said as he led them out of the room and together they all left for Kelvin's room.

Kelvin was standing in the centre of his room on the first floor while Mike, Silas, Alex, Rachel and David were still digging inside the tunnel.

"What is still keeping them this long?" Kelvin whispered to himself as he turned to the wall clock hanging on the wall. "Hurry up Thomas," He said and immediately, there was a knock on the door.

Suspecting that they must be the ones he hurried to the door as he opened it up.

"What the…" He paused as Jerry and the rest of them folded inside the room and Kelvin swiftly closed the door as he turned back again to see them.

"Good day sir," Felix and the others chorused and Kelvin ran his gaze through their faces until his eyes made contact with Thomas. "What is the meaning of this Thomas?"

"I'm sorry, but they just couldn't leave their best friends behind," Thomas answered.

"I understand your point sir but…"

"Shut up!" Kelvin turned to Elvis before he could complete his statement. "I know you are a mind reader but shut up or else I will throw you out," He said then drifted his gaze back to Thomas.

How did he know? Thomas thought to himself as not only him but almost all of them were surprised.

"I need an explanation, Thomas," Kelvin's deep voice knocked Thomas off his thoughts.

"I am sorry sir. Please consider us, no one else knows about the plan, we promise," Vicki jammed her two hands together as her eyes turned pale. "Please…"

Kelvin heaved a sigh at Vicky's plea and after a short hesitation he glanced up to Thomas. "I knew that you would disappoint me Thomas. However If i must take you all along with me then you must be of help and obey all my instructions. Including you," He drifts his gaze to Felix. "I know that you are from the fire department but you must behave. Do you understand?" He said as Felix nodded abruptly. "What is our name?"

"Felix," He answered.

Kelvin also asked the name of the others and confirmed their powers without having them say what their specialties were and they were all amazed and curious about how he was able to know such things without hearing it from them.

"Okay. Time to get to work," Kelvin said as he jammed his hand together and excitement spread across their faces. "The others are still digging the tunnel and they must be tired by now so we need to make some changes. Jerry, Elvis and Thomas, come with me,"

"What about me? Don't leave me with the girls," Felix said with a pitiful face.

"You can't come yet Felix, I have no idea how well you can control your powers. I can't risk getting my students roasted while we are inside the tunnel," Kelvin said as He entered the tunnel with Thomas and the other two.

Felix had no other option but to join the ladies in monitoring the CCTV in case they spotted anyone approaching the door.

Kelvin and the others continued making changes while digging the tunnel horizontally until it struck eight p.m.

"Do you think we are getting closer? It would have been better if we dug upwards instead," Elvis said in a faint tone then turned around sluggishly to Kevin while Thomas and Mike kept digging.

"I have studied the Academy and the direction we are digging through must exit to a waterfall. if we dig upwards, there are many traps on the surface so we must dig horizontally until we get there," Kelvin answered then turned right to Jerry who was seated with his two hands on his knees. "Take over Jerry,"

"Sure," Jerry stood up as he walked towards Elvis. "You are so pathetic. This is something that we have been doing for months. Today is just your first day and you are complaining,"

"That's enough Jerry," Kelvin interrupted and Jerry took up the digger then joined Thomas and Mike.

They kept digging until they were all faint and would have given up but Thomas went on and after a while he noticed a ray of moonlight enter into the tunnel.

"We made it," Thomas muttered then turned around to the others. "Guys, we made it to the waterfall," He wobbled in his voice as they all turned to him and when they saw the ray of moonlight they were all strengthened as they took up their equipment again.
