Westin was not the messy sort, however, when he returned from gathering herbs there was a general disorder for a few days while he sorted things out. The light only shown through the doorway, it blazed a path diagonal across the floor. The lack of light inside, and no fire to help, made Briaunna squint her eyes to see better. Soon her eyes would adjust to the lack of ambient light. Davyn’s apothecary was all shop out front; a table stood to the left, it had a large pestle and mortar resting on top, various herbs Brie could not name lay on the table; some were hung to dry from the ceiling. To the right were bundles of dry herbs all labeled for trade laying in baskets, pots, and vases. Some of the pots and vases were of a fancier design, no doubt from the Flistedt’s kiln.

“Davyn?” Brie called weakly.
