Chapter 20

Lilly was six years younger than Rognvald, she met him on purpose after his first wife died. There was no funeral for her and Rognvald only mourned for seven days. The men do not have to cut their hair in mourning, so the only way she would know when his mourning was over was to eavesdrop on the council. Lilly had decided that she was not only going to marry Rognvald, she would make sure he stayed on the council, maybe even be chief one day. First though, she had to catch him, and she knew just how to do it. When Lilly was twelve her Moan’Ah sat her down and told her how she could get what she wanted.

“Lilly, come here child. Come here to Moan’Ah.” Her grandmother called.

“Ok Moan’Ah.”
