Chapter 2: Regret

Peter couldn't believe what he was hearing. He felt broken on the inside. Jack was the same person who he has helped numerous times. The same man who he helped to even grow his club. He couldn't believe that Jack could do this to him. Well, he was not that surprised because a lot of friends he helped Looked down on him and refused to help him when he asked them for help. He gritted his teeth in anger.

“So this is how you want to pay me back after Everything I did for you?. I was there for you when you had nothing and I supported you in Every way, but this is what I get in return, right?” He asked, totally annoyed and irritated.

Jack laughed out loud like a psycho “Listen here peter, whatever you did for me was in the past and I appreciate it a lot but all I am telling you is that I won't give you any money. So, you better stop trying to tell Me shit about how you helped me in the past” He uttered, and he looked happy as he spoke. 'Useless fool. It is a Good thing that you have nothing now. ' Jack mused inwardly as he looked at Peter with disgust.

Right from time, he always envied peter for being rich and loved more than Him. He was happy that he had nothing, and he was also happy to see that Peter Asked him for money. Peter has been his close friend since high school. Even during Their High school times, Peter attracted more attention than him. Peter was loved by student and teachers than him. Even when it comes to relationships, Peter had better luck than him. Numerous women admired peter than him and Peter had riches than him, so seeing that peter was down, he couldn't help but feel happy and the last thing he will ever do is to give peter a loan that might help him get money or get back to his fit.

“Wow. So, this is your true color, huh?” Peter asked irritated.

“Please get the hell out here now, and I would rather not see you near my club again. Don't even think of coming here or asking me for money ever in your life again, and whenever you see Me, just act like you don't know me. “ Jack said with a sly smile on his lips.

Peter was dumbfounded. He had a very unreadable and complicated Expression on his face. He stood up From the couch.

“Boys!!” Jack uttered in a high voice, And they two men Peter saw earlier came inside the room.

“You called for us, boss.” The Both said.

“Take this trash Out.” Jack said, referring to Peter. Peter couldn't help but frown. The two men tried to touch him, but he forced his self out of their grip.

“You will regret this, I promise you, jack!” He said and walked out of the room.

“What a useless Fool.” Jack mumbled with a smirk on his lips as he saw five almost naked ladies that entered inside the room.

Peter immediately left the club with a heavy heart. Everybody were just turning their back on him. The people he helped when they were in need has rejected him. He couldn't help but sigh in anger and frustration. He was exhausted in life, but he wanted to keep on fighting.

He couldn't help but curse “Fuck!!” when it started raining. His life was a mess at that moment. Nobody to encourage him, His wife was another case and her behavior was terrible towards him. His father and mother-in-law hates him a lot. Jack didn't know who his father and mother were. He grew up in the orphanage and to him he believes that his father and mother abandoned and rejected him. The rain was raining heavily, but he didn't care at all. He just walked under the rain until he was home. He was really drenched and was shivering lightly with cold. Not only that, but he felt down inside, and he didn't know what to do.

He saw Raymond, his father-in-law, And Ignored him. He walked inside the room he shared with his Wife. Removing the wet clothes, he walked inside the bathroom and turned on the heater. He turned on the shower and the warm water rained on him.

After some time of showering, he came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. He was looking so manly and attractive at that moment.

He quickly dried the water on his body. He wore his underwear and nothing on top. It was already ten pm at night.

Megan entered inside the room. She looked at him but ignored him. Peter sighed deeply as he decided not to say anything to her, but to watch her do whatever she was doing. He watched as she showered and started dressing up. He was curious to know where she was going at that time of the night. She put on some make up and worked on her hair. She took an excellent look at her Self in the mirror. Megan was beautiful, she was curvy and average. Her face was beautiful with a pair of honey colored eyes and a sharp pointed nose. She was indeed beautiful. Peter had a good taste when it comes to sighting beautiful women. She wore a pair of black heels. She looked as if she was going to a party.

Peter was really curious to know where she was going so to kill his curiosity, he decided to ask her where she was going. “Where are you going, honey?” He asked, and she looked at him weirdly but didn't answer him.

Peter sighed as he stepped Down from the bed and walked up to her. He hugged her from behind, but she pushed him away, harshly. Peter was not surprised with her action because he predicted it. “What the hell is your problem?” She asked with a frown.

“Well, answer my question, Where are you going?” he asked again with a raised brow as he leaned on the wall with his arms folded across his Chest.

Megan rolled her eyes, “Where I am going is none of your business. Now stop asking me foolish questions.” She uttered, getting annoyed.

Peter narrowed his eyes and clenched his jaw. “I am your husband and I deserve to know where you are going.” he said firmly. He didn't trust her at all. A part of him tells him that she is cheating on him, and he was fifty-nine percent sure that she might be cheating on him.

“That's your fucking problem, Peter, but if you want to know, then just know that I am going to a party to enjoy and have fun.” She said. And Peter hummed.

After some minutes of watching her fix her makeup, he couldn't help but ask, “Why are you treating me this way?”

“Because you are useless. A man who cannot provide money to take care of his wife is a useless man. I even regret marrying an idiot like you. If I knew that you will someday become broke and useless, I wouldn't have married you.” She said, looking at him straight in the eyes.

Peter was deeply hurt because of her words, “So you only agreed to marry me because of my money, huh?”

“Obviously. Do you think I want to get married to a failure, no way!!” She told him.

“Marriage is all about for better and for worse. You should be the one encouraging me rather than acting this way. You are my Wife for Christ’s sake.” Peter almost yelled. It was obvious to him that she only married him because he was rich back then.

Megan laughed a bit. “I don't have time to talk to a loser like you. You better find away to get money because my father is already planning to kick you out of this house. You can't be feeding in this house for free.”

Peter was dumbfounded with her words. She laughed again. “I will be returning in the morning, and also I hope I will find some handsome and rich men to fuck with.” She said and tried to walk away, but Peter held her back and anger was visible in his Face. He just had enough of her insult, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Megan was shocked by what he did, and she couldn't help but gaps in surprise.

“What did you just say?” He asked, anger present in his voice, Face and eyes.

“You heard me right, or are you deaf, I said I hope I find Some handsome and Rich men to fuck with.” She repeated, firmly. Looking at him straight in the eyes.

“What the hell is wrong with you?" Peter yelled angrily, and she was surprised because it was very hard to see him yell at her, regardless of what she does. Peter was a caring and loving man. He was really a Good man, but people around him didn't value him.

“Don't fucking yell at me, peter, Don't Ever in your life Do that. I choose to have sex with anyone I like. Instead of yelling at me, why don't you use that opportunity and go look for something to do with your useless life.” She yelled at him back, And Peter just chuckled. He released her hand and walked back to the bed. He sat down on the bed and watched her as she wore a coat and left the room. Out of anger, he threw the pillow away.

“Jeez!!” He uttered in anger. He couldn't even believe that his own wife was proudly telling him that she wants to have sex with rich and handsome men. “Wow” He mumbled underneath his breath.

He wore long pants and stepped out of the room. He walked inside the Kitchen to get some water.

Raymond who was in the kitchen looked at him badly.

Raymond looked at him and smiled before he opened the fridge to take out a bottle of water. “What do you think you are doing?” Raymond asked.

'Another Drama. Why can't they just let me have peace for once.' He mused. Emotionally, physically and mentally stressed.

“Getting some water to drink, Dad” He replied politely, trying to hide the irritation that was visible in his voice.

Raymond was Megan's father, a man in his Early seventies. He looked young and firm,

“How many times have I told you not to call me Dad?” He asked, irked.

Peter sighed deeply. If he could remember clearly, this was the same man who told him to call him 'Dad' or 'Father' when he was Rich and wanted to marry Megan, but now he has nothing, Raymond has warned him a lot of Times not to call him 'Dad' or 'Father'

“I am Sorry Sir” He said, respectfully.

“You better be, and Besides, Why were you yelling at my precious daughter?” He asked, and he looked as if he was ready to fight Peter.

“I am sorry, I didn't mean to yell at her. She just annoyed me.” Peter replied.

“So? What did she do?” He asked, as he narrowed his eyes.

“She said she hoped she sees a rich and handsome man to have sex with.” Peter said with a bitter face.

“And that was the reason you yelled at my precious daughter? Who told you to be broke? If you want her to stay faithful to you, then you have to have money, and you should also be happy because if she deals with a rich man, then you will have some money to feed. You are jobless go and get something to do” Raymond Said, defending Megan.

Peter clenched his jaw, I'm anger. “Alright. Please excuse me, Good night.” he said and walked away.

“Better look for something good to do with your life because I can't stay under the same roof with someone who can't even afford to buy breakfast that he will eat.” Raymond said in a loud voice, and Peter, of course, heard it.

He entered inside the room and closed it.

He gulped down the water in one go before he laid on the bed. The pressure was too much on him, Bitterness was filling him up. He knew of a way to get money, but he wanted to avoid involving his self in any illegal activity.

“I will surely make you all regret. I will surely make sure that this ugly table turns. Regret will rain.”
