Such an ungrateful woman! Reed muttered with a sneer as he glared at the woman who did not seem like she would take it lightly with him.

“How dare you? Do you know the implications of what you have done, you silly man?” Joanna yelled again, fisting as if she was about to rip him apart. However, at that moment, the old man's voice sufficed.

“Anna?”

Immediately, she stilled. Time seemed to stop. Her breath ceased as if it was stopped by a stronger force.

That voice…. It was the same she had not heard in ages! Sickness was really a bastard!

Slowly, she turned around only to see that her uncle had called her..

With a gasp of excitement, she ended the live video and rushed towards the man and embraced him tightly, not caring about the man who had taken a minute out of his precious time to save him.

“Uncle, I can't believe I would hear your voice again” She muttered, tears streaming her eyes with a smile while Reed scoffed coldly.

Funny how a woman could change her emotions. Wasn't it earlier she accused him of wanting to kill her uncle even though he had saved her? Humans really never remembered kindness.

He thought with a scorn and was about to take another step further when the old man hurriedly had the glass pulled out and called, “Young man!”

“Uncle, you don't have to call him. It's only a miracle that you were saved. We need to get you checked at the hospital” Joanna said, not wanting to look at the man.

Pang of guilt arose on her chest when she realized how badly she wanted to rip him apart earlier when he had clearly helped her uncle.

However, the uncle ignored her instead and hurriedly had the door opened while she protested with a frown, “Uncle, you can't just go out. What if the media sees you? Besides, you value your privacy! You wouldn't do this for just anyone”

When it dawned on Reed that the man did not seem like he wanted to leave him, he turned back.

However, the man staggered almost immediately while Joanna rushed towards him.

“Uncle, are you okay? You almost fell off”

Almost immediately, the man straightened his composure and held his hands, ignoring his niece.

“Thank you for saving my life. I almost thought I would leave Anna all alone in this world to struggle on her own when she barely has no one by her side yet”

“It's nothing.” Reed said curtly with his hands all tucked behind his back.

“How do you want me to repay you?” The man asked overjoyed.

Judging by his outfit, he did seem like someone that needed a lot of money.

His hair was all tangled and his body seemed wretched.

His beards were extremely dirty and he looked older than his age.

“I can offer you a lot of money to change your life for good” He continued while Joanna’s eyes widened in shock. No matter how much someone helped her uncle, he would never go towards an extent to help anyone.

Just with a little token, he was good to go. However, he was willing to help this man. Just who did he think he was? She thought with a snort.

“I do not need your money. All I did was just what someone else would do” Reed said instead, staring at the sky again.

This time, he was sure that an hour must have passed and yet, he still had a lot of things he needed to do.

Only then did the man's smile deepen. A few minutes later, he brought out a blank card while Joanna's lips fell apart again.

The VIP blank card? Even though she had lived with the wealthy man since she was young, she had never seen one before.

It was said that there was nothing the blank card could not access for the owner. Was it the top bank in the world or the best hotels?

It also possessed authority that even a wealthy man without it could not possess.

Only five people in the country had it! Now, her uncle wanted to give it to some homeless stranger?

She had been with him for so long! Why could he not just offer something else to the man and hand it over to her?

With the card alone, she was set to be the wealthiest in the city with authority far more than she can ever imagine!

“Have it” The man said with a smile and stretched his arms towards Reed while Reed's expression became more cold.

“You don't have to do this. Besides, it seems like she needs it more than me!” Reed said upon noticing how cold her expression was.

However, the man dismissed it like it was nothing, overjoyed.

“No! She has everything in this world. If I offer her this, she will only be more greedy”

“I don't need it.” Reed said adamantly.

“Are you rejecting an old man's offer?”

The man asked.

Only then did Reed release a long sigh and had it collected from him not wanting to drag the issue further.

“Thank you!” The man said in excitement and continued, “ With this card, you can rule the world. When you have the time, go to the bank and have your name imprinted on it.

Its balance is unlimited and you will have enough money to your name.

It also serves as a free pass to anywhere in this world. And if you want, you can decide not to imprint your name.

It doesn't mean that you can't use it.

Just that it will make people believe that you are the real owner of the card if you have your name imprinted on it!”

However, Reed was sure he would never need the card the moment he had it tucked in his pocket since he had one he had not activated yet from the old hag.

Without sparing the man a glance, he thought of leaving when the man continued,

“Have this also”

Only then did Joanna seem like she was dreaming! Her uncle was even offering to give this pauper the phone number of the top bodyguard in the city!

The same man that just with a phone call, he could summon fifty guards!

Just only a hundred extremely wealthy men in the city had his contact in their phones!

If it exceeded a hundred, her uncle would have to delete the bodyguard's contact in his phone!

Her uncle had never shared the man's number to her even when she wanted to flaunt it to her friends! She searched through his study but she never found it.

Now, her uncle was giving this useless man when she had just a useless bodyguard that could not even save her when she was about to be raped earlier!

Who the hell was he exactly that he was being helped this way?

“Just with a tap the moment you dial this number, he will offer you with any assistance you need. Even if it's to cancel out the strongest bully in the world, he will do it”

But then, Reed felt he didn't need it. Besides, he didn't have a phone.

The last time he ever had one, it was because of Sharon.

Now that they weren't together, he didn't think he needed it.

However, just because he didn't want to be pestered by this old man, he collected it and carefully tucked it in his breast pocket.

A deep frown erupted on Joanna's face as she watched him leave to his car while the old man kept staring at him till he was also out of his sight.

“Why did you do that, Uncle? Do you know whether he's a thief or something? You don't trust people so easily” Joanna said with a grumble, feeling displeased.

“Anna, sooner or later, you will need that man but he has slipped off your hands just because of your ignorance!”
