"How dare you think you can throw Agatha out of her house like a dog?" demanded Beth, baring her claws to defend her daughter.

"Shut up!" Curtis shouted at Beth, making the entire place tremble and causing everyone to fall silent immediately. "Shut your damn mouth. This is my mansion, and I can do whatever I please. You should be grateful I'm letting you stay here with us."

Curtis had lost the simplicity and humility that defined him. That day, he was not the same submissive and smiling boy everyone knew. Agatha's decision had turned him into a grumpy ogre capable of saying such things.
