Chapter 62. Jesters

Beth returned to the old Stanton mansion [now Aldress] after the major disappointment she had experienced in the trial with Judge Brown.

That morning when she woke up, she thought that afternoon was going to be very different. Surely, she pictured herself swimming in bills that very afternoon, but Lucius Garner had taken it upon himself to ruin her party.

Beth was very upset and needed to unleash her fury against something or someone. Since she arrived, she had been breaking all the glass cups and glasses she came across, but it still wasn't enough. She needed something much more significant and effective to drain all that anger. Perhaps something destructive and humiliating would be the perfect solution to her dilemma.

Alfred stood beside her holding a tray with many empty glass cups for Beth to throw against the wall.

"Damn Norton!" Beth shouted as she threw a cup that shattered against the wall.

"Beth... Beth..." Baxter said timidly trying to stop her fury, but it was simply futile
