Chapter 2: conditions

Mr Eliott Bander is surprised, Richard wanted to continue walking but Mr Elliot hold his arm.

" I am sorry!" Richard said without even looking at who he bumped into. Mr. Elliot doesn't let go of his arm and looks him up and down.

When he walked into Mr Elliot, Hellen said "ooh My God! It's over for him".

Elena got up from her chair and walked over to Mr. Eliott who was still holding Richard by the arm.

"We're sorry Mr Eliott" she said before slapping Richard hard. She slapped him so hard he was thrown backwards causing Mr. Elliot to drop his arm. he almost fell because he was not expecting this slap.

At that moment, his cheek was on fire, he put his hand on his cheek. All this little spectacle left Mr. Eliott indifferent, but the members of the Travison family were in shock. Leo was happy.

"Richard get on your knees in front of Mr. Elliot and apologize quickly," Elena said angrily.

As piloted, Richard got down on one knee and apologized.

"Sir, I beg your pardon!" Richard apologized with a downcast look.

Mr. Elliot looked at him like shit before responding with contempt.

"Young man you are lucky that we are celebrating Christmas on this day which is why I apologize to you. Get up!"

Richard stood up, turned around and his gaze met Hellen's and he read pity, disappointment and regret. At that moment Hellen regretted this damn marriage. She quickly averted her gaze from Richard's.

" You can dispose !" Elena addressed Richard with a glare.

Ashamed and miserable, Richard turned and left.

"Who is this tramp?" Mr Eliott asked curiously.

"Ah! Him?" She said, shaking negatively her head and smiling. "He's just a bloody employee. Do not worry! "Elena lied because she didn't want Mr Eliott to know how miserable his son-in-law was and didn't want Hellen anymore. Mr Eliott just knew that Hellen had married a poor guy but had never seen him. .

Hearing his mother-in-law's words, Richard gritted his teeth. So for the Travison family he was just a fucking slave, an employee? He took his pain in patience, left the room and closed the door behind him.

"Tell me Mr Elliot why didn't you let us know you were coming, we would have given you a proper welcome" Hellen said directing him to the dining room.

"I wanted to surprise you" he answered then began to greet family members"good evening grandma! I think you are lovely today! I brought a lot of presents with me for you" Mr Eliott said, greeting Mrs Travison with two hands.

The old lady showed him her best smile, she was certainly old but she always liked compliments and gifts. She didn't like Richard because he was poor and miserable, he had never given her anything as gifts. She wished Mr Eliott was her in-law grandson.

After greeting Mrs. Travison, he went to greet Hellen.

"Good evening pretty lady" he placed a kiss on her hand then lifted her face and looked at her with a charming smile. Hellen looked at him in disgust, she quickly pulled her hand from his.

She never really liked Mr Eliott, she spends all the time saying that he is a pig, that he is ugly, black and much too old for her, he was 45, she was only 30. 

Mr Eliott greeted the whole Travison family before sitting down, they were talking and laughing, Hellen hardly spoke, she was just happy to answer the questions that were asked of her.

 Leo also didn't talk too much, he didn't like Mr. Elliot because he had more money and power than him and also because he wanted Hellen too. So he considered him a rival. In short, who didn't want this angelic beauty and gorgeous woman that is Hellen? But unfortunately when Leo entered the Travison family, Hellen was already married to Richard and he settled for his younger sister Lynda who was much less beautiful than her.

"As I told you last time, I am looking for companies to collaborate with. Several companies have already submitted their applications, I will just choose the best ones and also according to my preferences. In short, what I have gained by collaborating with these companies ." Mr Eliott said looking at Hellen.

His words said it all. He implied that if Hellen agreed to be with him, he was going to collaborate with the Travison company.

They talked again for half an hour then Mr Elliot went home, then it was around Hellen, Richard and his parents to go home. Hellen and her parents lived in an apartment in the large Travison family villa. While Lynda and her fiancé Leo lived at home in one of the properties of the Bellek family, family of Leo.

Once home, Hellen went to her room to change, and Richard followed her.

"We need to talk Hellen" Richard said anxiously.

"I'm tired, can't wait until tomorrow? What do you want to tell me? You want to show me what an incompetent husband you are? No thanks." Hellen said taking off her earrings. She was in no mood to talk.

Richard didn't speak, he just stared at her and scratched his head.

 What are you doing here ? Go outside! Can't you see I'm going to change," she said, kicking off her heels.

Richard and Hellen were married, but Richard did not enjoy the privileges of this marriage. He had never seen Hellen naked, and had never touched her, he was just admiring her. What was the point of marrying such a goddess and never even touching her tender, soft skin? She slept on the bed and he on the floor.

"Hellen, is there a problem? Why are you so aggressive with me? Did I do or say something wrong?" Richard asked puzzled, he didn't understand Hellen's sudden change in character. When they were at Mrs. Travison's she had stood up for him and now she was a different person, cold and distant.

"Richard, you're the problem! You're the problem. Please, I don't want to take my anger out on you. Get out, I'll get changed!" She ordered. She wasn't in the mood to talk, she was mad at herself, she was sick of being humiliated, she wanted it to stop.

Richard turned to leave and at the entrance of the door he saw Elena who glared at him and pushed him aside before entering the room.

"Rot" she told him. Richard lowered his gaze as if nothing had happened and he left the room.

"Sweetheart! Your dad and I want to talk to you. As soon as you're done join us in the living room" Elena said smiling at her, then walked out of the bedroom. Hellen knew that smile didn't bode well. She finished dressing and went to join them in the living room. Once in the living room, she found her parents, her little sister Emerald and her little brother Solomon.

"Take a seat my daughter" Casper indicated where to sit. She sat down.

"Sweetheart your dad and I want to talk to you. It's not for me to tell you anymore that the Travison business has been down for a while. We needed some help to get us back on our feet and..." began Elena before being cut.

"And what does that have to do with me?" Hellen asked. She knew where her parents were coming from but pretended not to know anything. "I'm tired, please come to the point".

"Hellen have some respect! I'll let you know that you're talking to mum and dad." Emerald lectured her.

"Who allowed you to open your mouth?" Hellen asked furiously.

"You have no right to talk to me like that I..."

"Enough! Shut up! I don't give a damn about your childish bickering." Said Casper in an authoritative tone, Hellen and Emerald were silent then he resumed "if I gathered you all here it is to tell you about the crisis that the Travison company is experiencing, as your mother said earlier, we need support to be able to overcome this crisis and Mr Eliott offered his support but on one condition." He looked at them all with a serious air before continuing "he would like to be given one of our daughters".

When he spoke, the room became quieter than it already was.

"In any case, dad, you know that I can't, I'm still very young, it's because I would have done it willingly. But alas, I'm too young, and also Lynda is engaged, what would people say if they came to know she cheated on her fiancé? I can't even imagine" Emerald said looking at Hellen with a smirk.

Emerald had always been jealous of Hellen because she was prettier, smarter, and more poised than her. When they were together with Lynda, everyone only talked about Hellen, they were completely ignored, and now, every time Lynda and Emerald have the chance, they humiliate her.

They were sure Hellen the bubbly girl was going to marry a rich and powerful man but it was joy for them when Hellen married a filth, a beggar. They were very happy.

Elena turned to Hellen with bulging eyes. Hellen knew what she wanted to tell him.

"Ah! No mum! I will not agree to prostitute myself for the so-called good of the company. Oh never. I am a married woman in case you have forgotten. I will not agree to defile my soul" cried Hellen angrily.

Casper glared at Hellen with red eyes "Stop this Hellen nonsense. Our family is in danger and you are talking to me about marriage? With who even? That idiot Richard, that less than nothing?"

" Butd dad if Richard or the others people were to find out it would be a disgrace to our family. I refuse that,” Hellen refused. And besides, he's old, filthy, ugly and fat," she added in disgust.

“Sweetheart if you do, grandma will consider you again and you will earn the respect of the whole family,” Elena said.

Emerald spoke "Hellen you are a very beautiful woman, this trash that is Richard does not deserve you. Accept the proposal of father and mother, in addition Mr. Elliot seems to appreciate you. Imagine what he can do for our company if you agree to it. I'm saying this for your good and the good of the company huh." She saif hypocritically.

"Hellen do this for our family, we need the collaboration with Mr Elliot to revive our business then we can collaborate with the fashion show company the biggest fashion company, and right now you can leave Mr Eliott if you want" said Solomon hypocritically because he thought only of his own good. Without money, he would no longer be able to party and date the women he wanted.

Fashion show company was the largest fashion company in the country and all other companies dreamed of collaborating with it. The company Travison was doing model clothing so collaboration with the Johnson company was going to be very beneficial to them since it was in fashion.

"You are all equally greedy, no one to catch up with each other" Hellen took a long breath before continuing "yes I accept".

Everyone jumped and shouted with joy, before she interrupted them in their burst of joy.

"But on two conditions" upon hearing these words, everyone looked surprised. “Condition one, that I have 5% of the company, and condition 2 that henceforth Richard be treated like a son-in-law in this family and not like a common slave”.
