Chapter one A visit to the cemetery

Mason Parker stood with a sombre expression on his face as he kept staring at the tomb stone of his parents.

It's been three years since the car accident that had claimed thier lives, yet it still felt like like yesterday.

He touched his chest and felt his heart thumbing as he remembered how he felt the night he was told he had lost his parents.

His eyes became teary but he steeled himself so he won't cry needlessly, he is a man.

"I really wish you were both still here with me, especially you mom. "

Mason said to himself as he moved his eyes to focus on his mother's tombstone.

The tombstone read 'Agatha Parker '.

'my son, don't let them know who you are just yet. We have so many enemies in this family, wait just for a few years. Increase your knowledge in medicine 'Mason recalled the words of his mother.

'Develop yourself, your martial arts :especially our secret family techniques, become the strongest martial artist in the family. ' he as well recalled that of his father.

'when you have, then you will be able to stand up against our enemies, always remember that we love you Mason, our dear boy. '

Mason wiped a tear forming in his eyes as he kept pondering on the words of his parents.

It's been years since they died and had given him those advise and he had adhered to them, but he doesn't know if he was ready.

All Mason wanted at this point was to achieve everything his parents could not achieve and to bring honour to his side of the family.

And also to avenge the death of his parents ,since there seem to be more that the eyes could see behind the death of his parents.

"Mom, Dad, am I ready? "Mason asked as he spoke to himself, like his parents were there with him.

The wind blew and he suddenly felt chills and it snapped it him out of his thoughts .

He glanced at his wristwatch and realized it was time he got going, he had been standing there for more than an hour in deep thought.

With a small bow he made a short prayer, placed the flower he had brought with him on both tombs and left.

The cemetery were his parents were buried was somewhat large since it was next to a mountain, it would take a while for him to walk back to where he parked his car.

As he walked back he heard a cry from afar but couldn't make anything out of it.

But since it drew his attention he paused on his tracks to listen attentively , he was the only one present at that point so it was weird hearing a voice when there was no-one else.

"HELP! "

"HELP , SOMEBODY HELP ME! "

He finally heard it clearly and made out what the cry was.

It sounded like a girl in trouble and it was coming from the other side of the cemetery And immediately he darted off to where the sound came from.

Upon arriving to the scene, he saw a young lady in her early twenties crying as she rocked an old man on her laps.

She turned to him with tears in her eyes pleading

"please save my grandfather, he just fell down and stopped moving, pls save him. "

Mason looked at her and then the old man who laid still on the ground and almost in a spasm .

One thing Mason noticed about the old man was that he gripped his chest as he laid on the ground.

He contemplated on if he should help them out or just leave them be. He could help, since he has the training on things like this.

At the end, he considered helping them.

Mason drew closer to the both of them and firstly reached out to touch the old man's forehead with the back of his palm.

The lady just kept panicking and speaking frantically.

"please help him, I've called the emergency ambulance service but it will take a while for them to get here. Please help him, I don't know what to do, I don't wanna lose him ,I don't know what to do.... "

"shhhh. Panicking won't save the situation . Go get me water , now! "

Mason spoke sternly to keep the lady from panicking since it was becoming annoying and she immediately did as she was asked.

Mason loosen the belt on the old man's Pants and laid him on his back and then unbutton his shirt to reveal his chest.

Mason after looking at the old man and the symptoms he had observed deduced it was heart attack, which could be fatal if left unchecked.

Luckily he knew exactly what to do to immediately administer first aid.

Mason performed mouth to mouth resuscitation and occasionally applying pressure on his chest.

Then afterwards with the tip of his fingers he pushed specific points on the old man's chest, skillfully applying his knowledge of acupuncture.

Several seconds later the old man gasped as he jolted awake and held Mason tight with all his might.

Mason smiled having no doubt that what he did would resuscitate the man.

The lady ran to the old man and hugged him with tears in her eyes as she thanked the heavens for his consciousness.

"give him water to drink "

Mason aid as he got up and dusted his pants to get rid of the dirt

The lady immediately did so, helping the old man up and giving him water to drink.

"I don't know how to thank you sir, you just saved my grandpa's life. "

The lady bowed in front of Mason, expressing her gratitude.

"It's fine, I just did the little I could. Anyone could have done the same."

He replied, not really comfortable with her bowing to him.

"Pls can I have your number sir so I can reach you and atleast offer my thanks at a more convenient time "

She asked.

"no it's fine, you don't have to. Pls take care of your old man "Mason said and then began walking away.

"Sir but but... " she tried pleading, but Mason didn't stop.

"atleast your name.... " she screamed for him to hear but Mason didn't stop and walked away from the cemetery.

The lady sighed and gave up on her attempts to get his name and phone number.

Then she thought of something and immediately went to the part of the cemetery she saw him standing before.

She recognised the tombstone because of the fresh flowers he had brought.

Getting there she took note of the names on the tombstone and brought out her phone to make a call.

"Find out all you can about Agatha Parker and her family. "

Mason continued on his way to his car with his hands in his pockets reflecting on what had just happened.

He could already see his car from where he was and he began approaching it.

But before he got close to His car, his phone rang in his pocket. He picked it up and it was his wife.

"Mason she fumed.

"come to the hospital right now there is an emergency " she hung up
