It was Damon Gate.

"His win was just a fluke. Any half-witted person will know that if this was a normal duel, this skinny freak wouldn't have stood a chance against Byron."

"Look here man," the spiky-haired man said aggressively, "if you think that James' win was a fluke and you want to have a go at him, you can simply just challenge him to a duel and take his championship. It's as easy as that."

Damon beamed widely at the offer and turned to James, "I challenge you to a duel."

James narrowed his eyes at Damon and smirked wickedly. Here was his chance to get his revenge on him for embarrassing him earlier. "I accept your challenge."

In the next five minutes, James and Damon were standing on the stage while the rest of the men watched them from below. Byron had finally regained consciousness and had gone to one corner of the room to sulk as he glared at James with hate in his eyes.

He didn't want anything to do with his followers anymore because he had lost that almightiness in their eyes. They used to see him as an untouchable being till James came and made a fool out of him, he would never forgive James but there was nothing he could do, he could only watch and wait patiently, hoping that Damon would defeat James.

[Emergency Quest!]

Defeat Damon Gate.

'Put 3 points into strength and 2 into agility.' James commanded and he felt a strange surge of power in his body as the system beeped.

Stamina: 11

Intelligence: 11

Strength: 29

Perception: 11

Agility: 28

'Now let's do this...' James thought. Damon's strength was higher than James' own by one point but his agility was way lower. James planned to use his speed and skills to his advantage to cover the disadvantage of the strength difference.

"Fight!" The spiky-haired man yelled and the duel began.

Damon pushed his hand forward and shot a blast of ice towards James but James countered it by putting up a large wall of flames.

[Skill: Flame wall

MP: 80/100 (-20)

"Wow." Someone from the crowd said absentmindedly, "I thought ice was his skill, how come he's using fire now?"

"And for him to be using fire at such magnitude despite him being at level one like us... Isn't that crazy?" Another person retorted.

James pushed the large flame wall to Damon and Damon jumped in the air to dodge it. He shortly realized that that was the biggest mistake of his life because he turned to see a fireball flying at him.

He tried to dodge it mid-air but his agility wasn't all that impressive so he coated his body with ice and took the fireball head-on. The ice seemed to have cushioned the effect of the fireball because he flew back a bit and landed on his feet looking up just in time to see James running towards him at full speed.

At such close range, his ice may not be effective so he decided to throw a punch. James easily evaded the punch and grabbed Damon's outstretched hand. He put his back against Damon and flipped him to the ground.

A smackdown wasn't enough for a win so James, who hadn't let go of Damon's hand, spun him around with an impressive combination of strength and speed and sent him flying like a cannonball into the wall.

Byron could only stare open-mouthed at the unbelievable outcome of the battle, 'this guy is insane.'

Some of the men quickly rushed and checked Damon. He was unconscious, and James was once again crowned as the champion.

'Hehe,' James chuckled in his mind as he saw the men celebrating around him, 'who would have ever thought that the weak, useless, and unwanted James Jade would one day possess so much power?'

"ATTENTION ALL SUBJECTS!" The public address system crackled and buzzed to life. All the men stopped their celebrations and paused to listen to the announcement.

"IT IS LIGHTS OUT NOW. ALL SUBJECTS SHOULD RETURN TO THEIR RESPECTIVE ROOMS. I REPEAT, IT IS LIGHTS OUT NOW, ALL SUBJECTS SHOULD RETURN TO THEIR RESPECTIVE ROOMS.." he added, "DON'T EVEN BOTHER TO USE YOUR SYSTEMS BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALL BEEN DEACTIVATED."

"Argh! I can't use my system anymore!" Some people could be heard groaning as they trudged back to their rooms. James was the only one smiling as he looked at the screen of his premium system that was free from external influence.

On getting back to the hallway where their rooms were, they all discovered that their rooms now had their names written on the doors so no one would mix their rooms up.

The moment James entered his room, he shut the door behind him and opened his status window.

"Wow." James whispered to himself in awe, "Look at how much my system has changed.

"More still, I even feel stronger than I've ever felt in my life, so this is the true power of a system?..." James grinned widely, "Now, what will I do with these 5 experience points?

"I think I should just lump them all in my strength and agility, after all, they're the biggest factor in determining the outcome of battles

"But my Omniscience and telepathy skills require me to increase my intelligence to be able to use them at a higher level. Apart from those three, I don't see the use of the remaining stats...

"My disadvantage in stamina can be taken care of if I invest in strength and agility. That way, I can finish my battles quickly without getting scared of running low on stamina.

"So add 3 points to strength and 2 to agility."
