Stay Frosty

Let's rewind time a bit to understand what was happening. All the bigshots of the Cole family and Shasha family had gathered together. Bastian had put together a plan, and they were getting told what to do.

"First is the southern wall. This will be the only defensive battle on our hands, so it makes sense to have most of our soldiers there. Vermaelen will take most of General Moto's soldiers and hold the wall for us. This job is probably the most simple yet most pivotal.

The aquatic daemons will have to climb over the wall to have any chance, so all Vermaelen has to do is keep them away from the wall. If that's hard, then take care of them if they climb it."

Vermalaen grunted in response. General Moto was uncomfortable handing her his troops, but he trusted Bastian so he nodded, giving his blessing.

"Both Sula and General Moto, select and take the most elite soldiers from both armies and make a second group. This group shall move in tandem with Tino and Guy. This will be the 'destroyer' group. Their job is to attack the three families while their guards are down. Tino and her sisters can practically move unhindered in this city, so your duty is to provide Guy and general Moto with information while performing assassinations where necessary. Since this will be a covert operation, Guy will be in charge, General, I hope you can acquiesce. Also, General, you will take over the Cole family guards and take care of guarding the compound, it's best to take it safe. Lang will assist you. From my understanding, you are best at defensive battles."

General Moto sighed and nodded his head. Sula did the same as she was uncomfortable with the fact that she had to work with someone she had been trying to kill for a long time, but times were hectic. There was no time for semantics.

"Kenshin, your duty is to move around all 4 battlefields and coordinate with everyone. Kenshin has a variety of skills that make him quite versatile. Tyson, from my understanding your family has a Foundation Realm Cultivator right?"

Tyson frowned and crossed his arms, "Aye, but he is quite eccentric, and I don't think he will agree to fight the dragon, he only fights when he is guaranteed that he won't die."

"Haha don't worry, he doesn't need to fight. All he has to do is meet the other Fusion Realm experts and keep them company. We can use his presence as a deterrent, to prevent anyone from attacking the Cole family compound. No one will attack us until they are confident that the Fusion Realm Expert will not interfere, and that's only when he is facing the dragon.

When the Dragon arrives, all he has to do is turn tail and run. It would be best if he could injure one or two of the other Fusion Realm Experts while he was at it, to make sure the Dragon annihilates them. Once their power has significantly dropped, my master will step up and destroy that lizard."

Tyson could no longer bare his curiosity and said, "Just how strong is your master?"

"Yes I m curious as well," Said Kai with a skeptical look.

Bastian pointed at the duo and said, "If you both reveal your cultivations, I would be more than happy to tell you what my master's cultivation level is." The room instantly became so quiet one could hear a pin drop. Kai awkwardly coughed and stepped behind Shasha, who laughed nervously. Tyson raised his hands defensively and said nothing. The answer was obvious, these two kept their lips shut.

Bastian smiled, "I thought so, but don't worry, a two-star aquatic dragon might as well be an ordinary eel to him, so don't worry.

According to my understanding, Tyson has had a mercenary army trained up, just in case something fishy happens. Let's use them. Offer the council the army and say that they will deal with the first few waves. While this happens, Tino, you and your sisters gather surveillance and tell us the best points to attack once the chaos reaches full swing. Kenshin will back that army up to prevent a full wipe out. We will also use this as an opportunity to show off the fact that we are stronger than they thought we are.

Let me recap. Team Vermalaen, protect the south wall. Team Guy, attack the enemy headquarters once the Dragon comes and chaos ensues. Team Tino, gather intel and assist Team Guy. Team Moto, guard the compound. My master will appear when the Cole family Fusion Realm experts calls it quits while leaving the other experts in a hopefully precarious position. Kenshin will act as support for those in need. Anyone unassigned can choose which team to join, so make your choices now."

Shasha was sad at the fact that his name had not been called out, but once he heard Bastian's words his eyes lit up." I want to join Vermalaen on the south wall!"

Bastian nodded. Kai wanted to interject, but he kept to himself. So long as he was there no harm would come to Shasha, there was no doubt about that. Shasha couldn't follow Kenshin around, and he had no intention of following either Guy or Tino, who were related to his brother. Bastian wanted to work alone while the Cole family expert…was better left to the Cole Family, leaving only Vermalaen. If he chose General Moto, he would probably be bored to death. Bastian's plan was pretty good, so it was unlikely that the Cole Family would get attacked.

"The other Cole family members shall stay to guard the compound," Said Tyson decisively. Sula wanted to object, but her brother's stern expression told her that he was having none of that. Considering what they were hiding, Bastian was not shocked. Tyson wanted to protect his house and keep his family out of action, an understandable choice.

"Good. I will head over to my master. He is outside the city so it will take some time to reach him. Tino, you and your sisters have telepathic abilities, allowing you to talk to each other over long distances, hence all the teams should have at least one of her sisters nearby so we can communicate. Time is of the essence guys. The plan will change if unexpected events occur, so stay frosty. Move out!"

At this moment a doctor carrying a small box filled with medical equipment walked in. The doctor walked towards the bed and started examining Bastian's body. What seemed like fainting was, in fact a far different and strange phenomenon. Just when he was about to go outside his vision blurred and he found himself in a strange place, his entire surroundings were white, it was as if he was in a giant white room, with no end in sight. After observing his surroundings Bastian noticed something in front of him, it was a large brown table. The table itself was nothing extraordinary...except for the picture of a large coiling dragon on its surface. The dragon was gold and its paws had two claws. Even though it was a two dimensional drawing, Bastian felt something from the picture, a sense of déjà vu to be more exact. He could not remember where exactly he had seen this dragon. That's when it hit him. This dragon looked eerily similar to the one that had destr

Kitrid started breaking into a cold sweat, because Meera's point was quite valid. Best way to deal with a horde this size is to deal with the alpha. The problem was that in this case the alpha might be too strong for them to handle, so Kitrid was not sure how they were going to go about it."What is taking Tyson so long? The support he promised should be here by now" Kitrid was fighting on the east wall facing the south east direction from which the horde was coming from. Due to the fact that his troops faced the full brunt of the horde, the elder council had promised support. Tyson Cole represented the elders by giving his word that he would send reinforcement if they were in dire straits. At the moment they had lost thousands of men. Thousands more were injured and even more were to fall in battle if this were to continue. The birds in the sky and the beasts on the ground formed a perfect combination minimizing all the advantages Kitrid and his troops had.

His clothes were fine and comfortable, provided by Tyson Cole while Bastian had been living under his house to prepare for the ensuing battle that was to come. His hair was growing again, in fact he found it grew quite quickly, but Bastian had become accustomed to keeping it short. He had been taking walks in Tyson Cole's garden more frequently in the past few days, choosing to seclude himself in meditative isolation as much as he possibly could, and he knew why. Kit took a deep breath. His heart was racing, but his mind was surprisingly clear. He led a band of mercenaries that had been hired by the elders of the city about ten years earlier for this very purpose. It was less a band and more like a small army and for ten years they had known the horde was coming. They had talked about this day, trained for it, and waited for it for ten years. Now the day had arrived and the city expected to get its money's worth. It was obvious that the past ten years had been all talk for most of the mercenaries belonging to the avenging shield mercenary group. They wore light black leather uniform. Kit, their commander,
