Chapter Eighty-Six

Ava left the house as early as five o'clock in the morning so that she would be able to catch up with Benedict before he left for work. She also had a few things to do in the office later that morning.

She only had about three hours of sleep if not less. She knew she would end up dosing off the whole time at the office, but she didn't care.

When she got to his house, Miguel was the one who opened the door for her. He smiled deeply when he saw her. He could not tell why he was excited about the fact that she was the one behind the door.

He remembered that he had hissed when she rang the doorbell. He thought someone had come to disturb them so early in the morning.

"Hello, Ava," he greeted her with the smiles still playing all over his face.

"Where is your dad?" She asked in a hurry.

He lowered his eyes and sighed sadly.

"I was a fool to think you'd have come to see me."
