Chapter 54

Seth rushed into Alaska's room as fast as he could, only to see her being held hostage by a very thin, very tall woman.

There was a dagger pressed against Alaska's neck.

Seth's expression was cold. "Who are you?"

The woman's voice was hoarse. "It doesn't matter who I am. What's important is that you have to eat this if you want to save her!"

The woman tossed over a black pill. Seth caught it with one hand.

He took one look, and Seth knew what it was.

It was a lethal poison. If someone did not receive the proper treatment after eating it, they would die within half an hour.

However, Seth pretended not to recognize the pill, asking, "What is this?"

"It's a drug that will drain you of your strength. Don't worry, I'm not out to kill you."

"Very well. If I eat it, you'll let her go, right?"

"Of course."

"Don't eat it!" Alaska panicked. "What if she's lying?!"

"Shut your mouth!"

The woman tightened her grip on the dagger, and a line of blood appeared on Alaska's fair neck.
