'Ares!' Rex exclaimed vaguely.

I almost gave up at that point, because my whole body felt weak and in pain. However, I was suddenly surprised to hear a very familiar voice.

“Are we giving up?” he said.

"Uncle?" I asked with widened eyes.

I almost thought that my uncle could really talk to me from the other world, but a second later I realized that it wasn't like that. Those were the words my uncle used to say when I was little. Now the childhood memory is back and the conversation feels real.

“Are we giving up, Ares Jones?” my uncle asked me again.

“I can’t do it. I can’t do it without mommy,” I answered.

I cried while looking at my uncle. After my father and mother were truly nowhere to be found, I felt lost. I feel like I can't do anything without my mom, even the little things. I even thought about quitting school and giving up on life.

“Ares, what you can do has nothing to do with anyone's presence or anything else. If in the past you could d

"I am not lying!" I shouted quickly, afraid to hear the continuation of Mora's words. If I were Pinocchio, I'd probably have a really long nose by now. I really hope that this lie of mine isn't exposed for now, at least until I figure out how to crack the totem code to repair the Grand Healer Flaming Totem. I'm not sure, but if I can buy time, maybe I can find a way to escape."It's good that you're not lying. There are only a few hours left until the deadline comes,” said Mora."Huh? A few hours?” I asked with wide eyes.I almost spit out the meat in my mouth, but I managed to swallow it, fortunately."You do not know? The time limit is twenty-four hours from the failure of the ritual. If no sacrifice is buried in the ground by that time, then the god will be angry and there will be a plague. The ritual was carried out this morning, right? It's night now. You only have a few hours left until tomorrow morning,” Mora replied lightly.I widened my eyes in surprise. My whole body felt co
