“We only have one beast,” whispered Noe in a very low voice, almost soundless.

"So?" I asked innocently. I frowned. What's wrong with one beast? Isn't the most important thing we are safe? At least most of us survived.

Noe let out a short sigh while shaking his head at my question. I feel like my question just now was a stupid question. The answer seems so obvious, but I really don't get it.

"Khores should bear the shame," said Noe. He whispered so slowly that he barely moved his mouth. I looked at him and understood what he was saying. Of course, he had to say it very slowly, if anyone heard then they both could die. I wanted to ask again, but I held back. I don't want Noe to be in danger because of my stupid question.
