Two Prisoners

I guess I just realized how tired I was. My energy was drained trying to save Nola. I rolled from a kneeling position to a sitting position, and then tried to get up.

"Wait and pray, we have to give him time to fully recover," Mora said in a soft but firm voice.

My eyes looked at Nola expectantly, witnessing the miracle of healing that had just occurred. Step by step, life filled his fragile body again, giving him a chance to rise again.

"Thank you, Mora," I said in a hoarse voice because my vocal cords had not been used for a long time. I just realized that that was the first time I spoke after I was in a coma. Then, my body slumped tiredly. I fell to the ground, letting exhaustion crush me.
