It’s been two weeks since the failed expedition returned to Sydhro and you can still feel the effect of that failed expedition all over the city. Once the news spread about it, the whole city slowly became gloomy.I guess, knowing that there is a dangerous monster just beside your city is really worrying. However, I feel different from the rest of the people.I feel really excited this past week.We tested Legion's ability as soon as we got back.Legion released 5,000 invisible ghosts to scout the whole city and some other areas near it. We retain the last 1,052 for attacking enemies and we lose 1,000 ghosts due to its transferring to another item.Legion’s ghost can go as far as 5km distance from him, after that the ghosts will not move anymore. Just like a human who has limited reach.I told Legion to focus on several things in spying the whole city.Look out for rare type ‘whole’ monsters for sale.Inspect every area and look for rich people that acquire rare items and artifacts.
Inside the captain of the guard office that is located in the central area.A man with brown trim hair and beard is sitting in his office reading the report. This man has a muscular body and he dresses neatly like a noble. This is Captain Hark, the city captain of Sydhro. The door opens and a man with brown hair wearing a glass walks towards the table.“Captain, here is the report regarding the attack that happened on Pay-On-Time.”The captain receives the report and reads it. He was deeply in thought regarding this incident.“What do you think of this Kevin?”“I don’t know Captain, a rival organization, maybe… this doesn’t look like a simple robbery because of the message they put out.”Captain Hark taps the table.“Exactly! Right! Right!… to an untrained eye, this will look like a normal robbery. But the way they handle things is different.”Kevin spread different reports for every accident across the table.“Here are the 4 organizations that were hit with the same method.”He then
Bang! Bang! Two explosions hit the monster and a thick smoke appeared in front of it.Swoooosshhh!Behind that thick smoke, a group of thick vines suddenly emerge and rush forward towards us.“Dodge!”A warrior looking guy shouted on top of his lungs.Using his shield, he blocks the incoming vine by pushing it on the side.He immediately looked at his party.Sara, our mage, wearing light leather clothes and carrying a long staff with magic orb on top of it, created a barrier and received the vines, but the vines immediately swung repeatedly and put a crack on the barrier.Hina is hiding behind Sara while casting her magic. Her hand is over her staff with a magic orb and a magic circle is starting to form in front of her.I look back at the incoming vine towards me.I charge forward.Bang!I successfully blocked it and when it lost its momentum I swung down my sword.Swwwiiissh!I cut the vine and it fell down to the ground.Pang!I look around.Sake, our archer, is dodging around the
After witnessing the fire storm and realizing what kind of enemy they are facing, Cole immediately gives the instruction.“We have to run Legion.”(I don’t want to involve myself in spirits. Legion is useless against it and the kids will just die even if the Spirit is just a ‘Seed’ rank.)I stand up.I look back to where we came from and started to run.Rum! Rum! Rum!I heard a noise deep in the ground. It seems like it’s coming towards me at a faster rate.I look at the ground.(There!)Boom! Boom!A group of vines, 20 vines, shoot out from the ground like a spear and directly go toward my chest.“SHIELD!”I put my arm left forward and a blue transparent shield with a hexagonal pattern appeared in front of me.Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!I flew back from the impact and rolled on the ground.Pang! Bang! Rong!I stand up and look back.Behind me is a cliff and in front of me is a Spirit. This one doesn’t have a trunk in it, it's just vines moving around. Like a wild grass that sprout
Two days!We spent two days!Hunting the spirits in the area.Once we move into a different area.Legion will detect another set of spirits and we will pursue them and take away their power.Of course that’s what we should do, it’s a walking EXP POINTS for Tree. Why would we miss it?During our Hunt, we encounter several types of spirit but most of them are formless. Which are the characteristics for a ‘Seed’ rank spirit.Though I don’t know the reason, on how they arrive here and how they can retain themselves. It doesn’t really matter now. This situation forces me to dominate one of the spirits, so of course I wanted to maximize him and I want Tree to accumulate more power. That is why my dream of resting and reading beside the Kaliba Lake is slowly fading away. And the vacation day that I reserved for myself became a hunting day to raise my lovely kids.Sigh.Very well, I just accepted my fate. The result of the hunt is amazing, so spending a few days to power up Tree is really wor
Inside the simple yet spacious War Room in Royal Castle in Perus, the central city of Kilswin. There is a long table in the middle of the room and on top of that table there are bundles of paper sitting in front of each chair. There are five people silently waiting inside the War Room. A bulky man with a burly face and the one who leads the army of Kilswin. An Aura Master with a reputable reputation. Lord Knight, Ralt Via Rie. He has short brown hair and trimmed facial hair and he is wearing silver armor with a claw made out of dragon bones sitting on his shoulder. He is sitting on the right side of the table and beside him in the Head of the Tower of Scholars. The 8-Circle Mage, Regis Zief. He is an old man with tied brown long hair wearing a white long lab coat. He looks like a normal old person who works in laboratories. Regis is reading the bundle of paper so seriously that he frequently moves his eyeglasses. In front of Regis Zief is the Head of the Mage Keep. A beau
We climbed to the top of the mountain.Or I should say Tree climbed to the top of the mountain while I sat down on the back.Tree is now a very handy spirit.Due to its Vine Transformation (Not an Official Skill), it can freely transform into any shape.Right now, it is a long-bodied gorilla with a driving seat, like the one used in cars, and a vine cage sitting on top of it.Inside that cage are the twin viper that are silently sleeping after feeding a whole lot of monsters.“Master, we are approaching the lake.”I look at my WAYS that is floating on my right side.“Nice!”“Master, there are monsters at the bottom of the lake, should we kill all of them.”I think about it for a while.Legion… is a mass murdering monster.Surely this is the boss of an undead dungeon. You know! Those creatures that hate the living, so what should you expect? In my personal opinion I would rate his dungeon as a Very Hard Dungeon. Meaning that it only has a 20 to 50 percent survival rate.I was lost in
Bang!A hand slam on the black wooden table. The office is full of shelves on the side and countless books are resting there. There are various items sitting on the lower parts of those cabinets.Black candles that are not lit, black books with magic circles in the book cover and a long staff with a large skull sitting on the end of it and various bones decorating the body of the staff. The staff is properly placed on the display stand.A man wearing a demon skull mask is sitting on the chair and a man standing across the table is his aid.“Why is this happening!?”Bang! He slammed his closed fist on the table once again.“First the black book was stolen, next the ruins' secret was exposed.”He looks at his aid and opens his arms.“This is supposed to be easy, we plan this perfectly. Argh!”“Duke Nicolas is responsible for reviving the ruins and capturing 30 spirits then we will sacrifice those spirits to summon a demonic seed. Argh! We even use a third party so that he wouldn’t know
The third trial begins as soon as Faust died. The magic tool installed inside the room activated and a magic spell commence. This magic is a bit special, for this magic brings Faust's soul into a certain place.A dark place, a place where souls were trapped, a place where sadness and pain can be felt.Faust woke up, he look at his body and he cannot feel it.His body is also semi-transparent.He tried to touch his body. And his hands then flew to his face but…There is no luck. But that’s not all.He is also confused about what happened. He tries to recall the events and came to the conclusion that he died, somehow. And he decided that this is the afterlife. However, even though he realized this, he didn’t feel sad.He died, but he didn’t feel sad.Instead…He felt angry… for the first time, it surfaced. He felt angry when he realized that his life ended… just like that. After seeing the events that he ‘regrets’ the most and decided to do something about it.He died.He is angry with
In the story, Faust was swallowed by the illusion though it didn’t hurt him physically. The illusion enhances the feeling of ‘regret’. Unlike the first trial, a made-up story, the second trial is about looking back at the past. The person who will be under this trial remembers… will be shown every event in his life and every ‘regret’ in that scenario. Even the most minor event will not be skipped and the worst thing is… under the second part of the trial, the ‘feeling’ of ‘regret’ will be boosted. Faust, cannot escape this. No instead, he looks into it. Embrace this scene but instead of ‘regret’ what he felt is longing. Especially on the days, when he spends his time with his family and lovable animals. But this feeling didn’t escape the ‘properties’ of the illusion. The feeling of ‘longing’ doubles. But Faust pushes through. In his mind, he wanted everything to stop. He wanted to be with his pet, to close his eyes and simply lay down and rest. He wanted to remember the d
Cole put his hand on chest. ‘Phew… nothing happened… Good!’ He then looks around the area, looks at the mansion and then glances at the nearby trees. ‘I think it is safe right now… yeah… I have nothing to worry about.’ He then glances at Lily who is playing with the yellow wild flowers near the mansion. Relieved as he is, he began to move to walk away and go home. As soon as he turns a corner. He notices a noble young man wearing an elegant suit. He looks handsome and attractive, and he exudes a confident and distinguished aura. He stands next to an old horse that looks familiar to Cole. Cole stops in his tracks, with a surprise on his face, as he gazes upon the man and the horse from a distance. His eyes widen in surprise as he recognizes something special about the horse: it is the same horse described in his book! Carefully making sure not to be too obvious. Cole takes on a few steps closer to get a better look at it but still keeps his distance. The man speaks soft
The third trial begins as soon as Faust died. The magic tool installed inside the room activated and a magic spell commence. This magic is a bit special, for this magic brings Faust's soul into a certain place. A dark place, a place where souls were trapped, a place where sadness and pain can be felt. Faust woke up, he look at his body, the structure is just the same, however... he cannot feel it. His body is also semi-transparent. He tried to touch his body with his hands, it just pass thru. Then his hands then flew to his face but… There is no luck. It passes right thru like there is only air instead of his face. But that’s not all. He is also confused about what happened. He tries to recall the events and came to the conclusion that he died... somehow. Accepting his death, he decided that this is the afterlife. However, even though he realized this, he didn’t feel sad. He died, but he didn’t feel sad. Instead… He felt angry… for the first time, it surfaced. He felt
Faust continues the journey toward the deeper part of the cave. Even though he experienced a cycle of a nightmare, Faust didn't flinch. Some people might immediately run away and left the cave, but Faust is different, he builds up the courage to walk inside the cave. What he gained in the first trial is strength, though it is not physical, it basically strengthens his mind. The ability to accept death is something that few people have and Faust just earned it after the first trial. With that newfound courage, he dives deeper into the cave until he reaches the second trial. If the first trial is about fear, the second trial is about regret. That is right! In the middle of the empty room, Faust walks into the middle of it where a small platform is sitting. Faust was immediately engulfed by the illusion. He saw various things and events, and it flashes around him. The first event that he saw was about the little cat that he discovered in the village. He was so fond of it that
'Papa! He began to move!' 'He is now going down the stairs...' 'Oppps! He falls down the stairs, Papa.' 'He is now crawling.' 'Papa that guy looks very weak, he is now out of breath.' Lily continues to monitor Faust's movement. 'Papa... He going out now.' Gasp! Cole has been waiting for several hours since learning that Faust is already awake inside the mansion, he knew what is going to happen so... he waited because wanted to see Faust with his own two eyes. And now he saw the man in front of his very eyes. Thump! Thump! Cole's hearts start beating fast. He is excited, overjoy and he is holding himself so hard not to shout or make any reaction. In every story, there is always your favorite character, and for Cole here he is.... in front of him. A thin, sickly, white man came out of the mansion and began walking towards the cave as soon as he saw it. Faust looks like he was going to fall down anytime soon. (It's him, really him!) The embodiment of loneliness. The embo
“Papa? What kind of adventure are we going to do today?”Cole looks at Lily. The little girl with green vine hair skips while in the middle of the forest. Cole shook his head. “Unfortunately, we are just going to look around we will not hunt down monsters this time.” “Owwww…” Lily looks dejected and she looks at the sky. It was covered with branches and leaves from the nearby trees and the sunlight reflected on her face with the shadows of the leaves. Lily then smile and nodded. “I think it's alright!~ Jewel and Viper are still asleep, I want to have adventures with them together with Papa, we can do the ‘boring’ stuff for now.” (Boring!?) Lily looks happy as she skips ahead. Cole cannot accept what he heard so he looks at the person… dream creature, beside him. But Crystal didn’t have a reaction, she was just walking calmly in the forest. (Boring!? Is saving the world boring? Hehe... Well I'm the only one who know about this things.) Cole wasn’t hurt or anything on Lily'
When the earthquake hit Cole immediately started to travel toward Edel. Using Sky and Mylan’s help they arrive at the location without any problem. “It’s been a while since I saw it.” The one who speaks is Alicia. She simply request to see the state of her hometown and not engage in other activities so Cole allowed it. At first, Alicia is concerned because of the deal that he made with Cole upon allowing her to live in Yggdrasil. However, the contract, same as the others, allows her to receive the blessing of Yggdrasil in exchange for their loyalty, and the contract will trigger only if the person made a direct or indirect, planned, way to attack Yggdrasil. This is their initial concern about Alicia, but all her worries go away when Cole explains to her about her contract. “There was a field of flowers back then.” She pointed at an open field in a distance. (But there is nothing there, just grass… grass and more grass.) “Then when we are kids, we play at that place.” Then i
My goal became clear when I realize where I am.Leon Muller is looking at the potion warehouses in his private manor.“This world will be different from the earth far… far… different.”(This world will become my oyster, I will do what I want… take what I want and no one will ever stop me.)Leon closes his eyes and remembers his life back on earth.Back on earth, she was unlucky to live in a place where gender was the basis of everything, it dictates the society and who has power or not. That’s why slowly she changes, she adapted to the environment given to her to survive. And in the end, she did fine…In exchange for everything, she just did ‘fine’.It was sad for her, that all that effort was treated as just ‘fine’ and to be fair, she really did everything beyond anyone could expect from her. However, every action she did was met with one eye close. In that hard life, the only escape she had is reading books in between breaks, bringing her to this magical world she always wanted to c
