Syhdro

Huff! Huff! Huff!

Growl! Growl!

Growl! Growl!

Huff!

“He-help! He- help!”

From a distance I can sense the presence of a running person while being chased by three unknown monsters.

“Haaaa! Haaaa!”

Growl!

Growl! Growl!

I focus and listen…

From the looks of it.

A child is running away from a wolf-like creature.

“In this forest, there is a high probability that those are Gray Wolves.”

Usually, I will just abandon this child.

But…

I look at my ordinary bag and I know that Jewel and Viper are staying inside that bag.

My pets eat a lot.

I pick up two vials in a pouch, one is made of fine powder while the other one is a pink colored potion.

I run towards the sound to intercept them.

Then I saw the kid, a brown haired girl wearing normal villager clothes, running for her life.

“Here! Come here!”

I wave at her and her eyes widen and immediately go in my direction.

I noticed the three Gray Wolves followed her.

Growl! Growl! Growl!

I stand my ground… When the girl passed I waited until the wolves came inside my range.

Growl!

Foooosssshhh! Foooosssshhh!

Then I immediately throw the two potions together.

Ting! Ting!

Crack!

The bottle crack and the components mix in the fur of the leading wolf.

Boom!

A small grenade was created, the leading wolf was blown away and the two other wolves flew on the side.

I run towards the left wolf while I pick up two crossbows on my side.

Fooooosssshhh! Foooossshh!

Puck! Puck!

Eiik! Eiik!

The wolf that fell on the right side of the explosion was hit, the distance is just 5 to 6 meters away so it’s just basically point and shoot.

Then I look at the recovering wolf in front of me.

I drop the crossbows and grab my sword and slash it vertically with all my might.

Woooo!

Pang! Pang!

The head was cut and it fell down to the ground together with its body.

I run towards the leading wolf and I notice that the body has a large hole in it then I immediately shift towards the other wolf that receives the arrow.

I didn’t check if it’s still alive, the truth is I didn’t care if it’s still alive or dead. That didn’t stop me from doing what I had to do, so while running I made a thrusting action.

Swiiish!

Puck!

But there is no reaction any more.

“Foooo!”

That’s when I relax.

I pick up my crossbows, hang it on my belt and look at the girl that is looking at me.

(To be honest, I didn't just use her as bait.)

I shake my head.

(Let’s don’t think about that right now.)

“Hey little girl!”

She was startled that she even dropped the flower she was holding.

“oh! Oh!”

She immediately picks it up and looks at me.

“Th-Thank you mister.”

She holds the flower tightly.

(Hmmm…)

“It’s ok little girl don’t be alarmed, by the way I will take these wolves… ok!”

“Y-Yes Sir!”

The girl seems anxious but that is normal since she encounters an unknown man in the forest.

“Little girl.”

“Ye-Yes!?”

I said calmly but she was still startled.

I look at her flower.

(That's Seven Whites…)

(That flower is supposed to bloom only in winter.)

She tightens her grip once again.

Sigh.

“Can you safely go home from here?”

Her face suddenly relaxes for a bit.

“Yes… Sir, our village is just near here.”

I wave at her.

“Ok then, good bye and stay safe.”

She bows down and immediately runs towards the other direction.

I scan the area using my presence detection and when I notice that there are no other creatures around me I pull out my axe behind my hip and start dismantling the wolves.

“Hey Jewel, slow down.”

Jewel just gulped another set of meat.

Then it moves toward the nearest meat and shoves it in her small mouth.

I have to cut the meat into small portions just so they can easily eat it.

Viper on the other hand is waiting for me to feed him.

Like a little child that didn’t want to eat unless his parents made that ‘chu-chu’ sound.

Even though Viper eats diligently it still consumes the same quantity as Jewel, both of them are glutton.

(On the other hand, I am happy because I don’t have any problem feeding them at all.)

I then glance at my pouch and think of the potion that I just threw.

“Still… one bomb is expensive.”

I raise my finger.

“1 bottle of grounded monster core and another bottle of lizard’s fire gland and Miriam plant mixture.”

I look inside my pouch and I still have 4 of those mixtures.

“Sigh but those ingredients cost 2 gold already.”

“If I hunt like that, and only capture one monster I will be at loss.”

I look at the meat that I prepared and cut.

“It just happen that both of the wolves are beside the leading wolf, if not I will use another ‘bomb’ to kill them.”

Then I suddenly realize after I look at the meat, that my pets already consume one Gray Wolf.

Sigh.

I gently tap the head of Jewel.

“It’s a good thing I obtained that bag of gold.”

(If I didn’t get that bag of gold, I would have a huge problem feeding them, especially in this early stage of their life.)

I waited until Jewel and Viper were full. After that I put them in my ordinary bag, pack the rest of the meat inside the dimensional bag and I continue my journey toward Sydhro.

Kilswin Kingdom is known for their beautiful lakes and rivers and most of their local livelihood revolve there.

At the same time, Kilswin has access to the ocean unlike Slexor that has mountainous areas in their southern region.

People in the Southern Continent know that if you want sea foods, freshwater fish or other water body related products, Kilswin is the first place you should go.

As such, the border city Sydhro is a very busy city.

This city has a direct path towards Slexor and Veslono so both kingdoms have easy access to this place. However, security of this place is really tight, not just the gate guards but there are several roving soldiers that you can see every minute.

The tension increase in this area might be related to the war between Slexor and Veslono. However, you can still see a lot of open shops and busy streets in the city.

After I arrive, I look for an inn in a central district. This place is for middle class people, according to the guard that I’ve spoken to.

It doesn’t really take too much time to arrive in the central district, or at least I didn’t think I consume too much time walking around. The place is so busy that I didn’t notice that the time had already passed by.

I saw various clothing shops that I wanted to visit later.

Then I also saw some blacksmith shops on the way to the central district.

(Now that I have free time, I could look around the city to my heart's content.)

Unlike on Slothub, I am busy preparing for the mission, so I don’t have time to enjoy the city. This time will be different. I have 6 months before the next scenario begins, I still have a lot of time to grow my pets.

After arriving and settling down in the inn.

The first line of business is the food for my pets.

I look for shops that sell monster parts and meats. Yet, what I really wanted is to go to various auctions or black markets in this city. Those places can sell me a ‘whole’ monster instead of ‘chop’ ones.

However, those places are very dangerous. I will just attract various dangerous people towards me like a moth in front of a flame. Without having any way to protect myself, it’s much better just to lay low for now.

So, to improve the growth of my pets. I have to be satisfied with purchasing monster materials in the market.

After I purchased different meat, innards and hearts, I went home and put them inside my dimensional bag.

I know that this looks tedious but if the product I purchase suddenly disappears from my hand while I’m in the market, some people might notice it and they will assume that I have a dimensional bag.

I’m not being paranoid, I am just being careful.

In the book, there are several spies that are looming in different cities. Masquerade of the Moon and No-Light are the famous spy guilds in the story.

I still need to be careful because I know that an influential group of people are behind the divine book.

That is why I have to do it in a ‘normal’ way.

Though there are other more effective options in gathering monster material such as commissioning a certain monster on the guild. I’m not planning on doing that because it will attract too much attention.

It will be different in the future but for now let’s just settle on doing this tedious task.

In addition, in buying pet foods, I also bought a book cover for the divine book, purchased new clothes and armor and acquired different alchemic materials.

And before the day ends, I visited the adventure guild and looked at the quest board.

Of course I’m not here to earn money, but I wanted to look at interesting quests on the board, this became a habit of mine while doing the previous Ellie’s Quest.

For me, this quest board is an information center that will tell me what is currently happening around the city.

Fooooossshhhh

The wind blew and leaves danced under the moonlight.

In the middle of the night, in a forest area near the villages.

A few feet underground there are several humans stacked together like animals. But deep within the grounds are more buried corpses. Thousands of corpses were lying underground.

Suddenly, an energy crawl towards the area like a crack that grew and extended.

From up above you would see that the crack made up of energy stops growing in a certain point and suddenly the whole area is now covered by that energy.

A dome-shaped energy appears but it slowly changes.

The dark colored energy transforms itself, slowly, like a clay being molded by an artisan.

Slowly, the energy took its form.

In the center of the crack appears a small mausoleum.

The gate and the fences are made out of bones surrounding the whole building.

The door is made up of assorted white bones.

And the most noticeable feature is the human teeth like design in the entrance of this mausoleum.

When you look at it, it feels like the mausoleum will eat any one who will enter it.

The peaceful environment earlier cannot be found anymore and it was replaced by an eerie vibe.

Haaaaa!

Waaaa!

Craaaa!

Now ghostly screams and cries can be heard in this area.
