The arrow from the Swedish army proclaiming their wish to surrender had reached the army of Norway. The information was immediately sent to the king who was very much pleased with the development. The information was spread to the armies stationed at their flanks as they were overjoyed at the information.

"Hail Lord Lucas! Hail Lord Lucas!" The soldiers shouted in happiness as Lucas stood in front of their army.

He was still keeping an eye on the enemy army to make sure that they weren't doing anything suspicious. Aslaug and Kriemhild were taking a breather but they were also ready in case an ambush was about to happen.

"It appears that you have become a hero Lord Lucas." Olivia said to him with a smile as she stood near Falkor.

"I guess. But they have also seen you fight against them. I'm sure that you will go down in our history as a war heroine as well." Lucas said with a small smile on his face.

Olivia smiled at his words as she knew from his face that he isn't saying that to butter up to her. His focus is on the battlefield so she knew that he wasn't trying to win her affection, nor did he seem to have any interest in it as well.

"I also have to thank you for your help in this war." Olivia said to him with a smile.

"It was my pleasure, your highness. Now I just want to make sure that the enemy won't do anything suspicious." Lucas said to her as he glanced at her before looking back at the enemy.

"That is a good plan. Even I'm not sure about letting our guard down just because of a declaration. Unless the royal family themselves come and show their mark of surrender our army has to stay alert." Olivia said seriously as she agreed with him.

"It eases my mind that the princess agrees with me." Lucas said with a nod as he looked over the battlefield.

The army of Sweden didn't do anything and soon the two royal families met each other to sign a contract between them. Olivia, her parents, Andvaranaut, Lucas, the court mage, and other members of the army and those who possess influence in the kingdom participated.

The royal family of Sweden, alongside Eric, their commander, court mage and some high ranking officials also met as they came forward to sign the agreement. They were meeting inside a very large tent. The armies of both nations were stationed on either side of the tent as they kept an eye on the other to make sure that they didn't do anything suspicious.

Kriemhild and Aslaug were also in the army as they looked at the army of Sweden, Kriemhild made sure to be out of their view lest someone recognise her and cause problems.

"The agreement has been signed by the kings of Norway and Sweden. The nation of Sweden will pay a monthly tax of 50,000 penning to the nation of Norway. The kingdom of Norway will have full authority over the cave with the ores but Sweden is allowed to trade with them. The royal family will retain their authority over the nation of Sweden." The man who was responsible for making sure the proceedings were going fair read out the agreement to the people present.

"I am fine with the arrangements." Arvid said with a neutral tone.

"I am fine with the arrangements." Emil Anderson, the king of Sweden said in response.

Truthfully he didn't like it as their families have been fighting against each other for sometime now but he has no choice in the matter as they had lost the war and so he must accept defeat otherwise he might shame his family name more for not upholding honour.

"Then my purpose here has ended. With your permission, I would like to leave your majesties." The middle man said to them as he gave a bow to them.

"You shall." Both Arvid and Emil said in unison before they looked at each other.

"Thank you." The middle man said ignoring their looks at each other before he walked out of the giant tent.

He let out a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat off his forehead with a look of relief.

'By Odin's beard, I'm so glad they didn't get into a fight. I thought the Anderson family would object to the contract but thankfully they didn't. I should get out of here.' The man thought to himself before he walked away from the giant tent.

Inside the tent the silence was palpable as both kings looked at each other. None of the other people said anything. Then that silence was broken by the clanking of heels which caught the attention of the people.

Lucas looked at Olivia as she stood in front of Eric. Said prince gave her a glare as she has a smug smile on her face.

"It is nice to meet you face to face Prince Eric. I have to inform you that I am quite happy with the outcome of the war. It was truly a wonderful battle that would please the Gods. It truly showed the might of my country." Olivia said with a smug smile.

"It would appear so." Eric said as he grit his teeth but he made a smile on his face.

"As I had said in the letter I had sent you, us members of the Ascheberg family are quite strong and capable. Our armies are strong as well, I hope you realise that." Olivia said to him with a proud smirk.

"I'll be sure to remember that. Though, I do want to know about that warrior riding that wyvern." Eric said to her with a strained smile.

Olivia looked at the others from Sweden and saw them also having intrigued looks on their faces. She looked at her father who after much contemplation gave her a nod of approval as she nodded back.

"Fine. I present to you the second in command of our army and heir to the house of Larsen, Lord Lucas Larsen." Olivia said as she looked at Lucas.

Lucas at her words stepped forward and stood a few feet behind her before giving a bow to the people present. Eric has a hateful glare at the boy while King Emil was looking at him with narrowed eyes.

'This boy is without a doubt an exceptional one.' Emil thought to himself as he remembered his exploits in the battlefield.

Lucas raised his head a bit and looked at Eric before smirking a bit making the prince more angry. Olivia who saw his action smiled as he straightened up and looked at him.

"It is a pleasure to meet you in person Prince Eric Anderson. As the princess said, I am Lucas Larsen, the heir of the Larsen clan and the second in command of our army. It is an honour to meet you." Lucas said with a charming smile on his face.

"It is my pleasure as well. You battled wonderfully." Eric said to him as he controlled his anger.

"Thank you for your kind words, your highness." Lucas said as he smiled at him.

Of course, the prince was very angry at him but he knew that he was strong due to his skills in the war and so he kept his mouth shut. The court mages from both kingdoms were looking at him but didn't say anything as Lucas kept his smile on his face.

He proceeded to sit on the right couch to his mother's right as he looked at the three with him."Did you guys already talk by the time I came here?" Lucas asked them curiously."Oh nothing much. I was just asking them a few basic questions." Agnes said to him with a smile on her face."I see. Well, they are trustworthy and have fought alongside me in the war. I trust them." There were also beautiful paintings of various places in the region, some about the animals, Gods and warriors and so forth. Lucas could tell that these paintings were created by great artists as paintings like these are hard to come by. Even his own family only has two paintings of such quality and he can say that they are very beautiful. It also served to raise the beauty of the palace as it blended well with the architecture as well. And as expected of the royal palace there are many soldiers stationed inside alongside many servants as they would walk qu

After Olivia had walked past those doors and stood in front of all of her people, she could see the stares of all of them, both men and women, those of her same age as well. Her parents would also appear after fifteen minutes since they wanted their daughter to have the centre stage for some time. She felt the stares of the men and could feel many of the young nobles looking at her in awe, but she could also feel lust from their eyes as well. It was something she could feel after she gained a sense for it, courtesy of being under the gaze of many such noble boys her age in various parties. She could also feel the gaze of the adults as well and many of the men also held gazes of desires as they looked at him. She knew that it was because of her beauty, something she knew very well as many had complimented her for it.As for the girls, many were awed by her, but she could also see that some were jealous, some looking at themselves in doubt while others were just looked at her in awe of

"By the way, what was the magic you had used?" Olivia asked him curiously as she remembered that fact."I'd rather not talk about it when there are so many people here." Lucas said to her in a hushed tone as he looked at her."Ah right, that." Olivia said as she nodded in understanding. She knew that despite his status many of the nobles might covet his power and not to mention the fact that if that information went to some unsavory hands then it might be problematic for one Lucas Larsen, something which the kingdom doesn't need to have.Even if others have seen his magic work, they don't know the principles in which the magic works, and that makes him a wildcard of sorts. Which also makes him dangerous in the eyes of their enemies and she is sure that he would be at the top priority for them. Considering his strength they would be wary of him the most which can be used to their advantage.'Okay, I need to stop thinking about strategy for a moment and just enjoy the party.' Olivia th

Lucas sat on the back of Falkor as he made his way to the royal castle, it would've taken more time but he knew the importance of this so he made his wyvern fly quickly. Most of the people had already seen his wyvern and since there weren't any others in sight, they wouldn't attack him. But he didn't want to raise the alarm so he made sure that they were flying near the ground to make the guards know that he is coming. And as he had hoped they didn't attack him, as most of the guards had recognised his wyvern as even if not all of the guards had come to fight in the war, there were still those who recognised him and his ride. They reached the gates and Falkor landed carefully as he scratched his neck as the wyvern growled in response, happy at the scratching he received. "I am Lucas Larsen of the Larsen family and I wish to speak with the princess, it's important. I didn't have the time to send a letter prior." Lucas said to the guards stationed at the front of the gates seriou

He trusts his master and knows that if he has said that a danger is coming, then it will be coming. But for the master to not know what the danger is means that the problem is something that might be hazardous to them all. It was one of the first things that was taught by their master to them when he was teaching them about fighting. Thinking that th

Lucas sat in Aslaug's home as he was being watched by Aslaug and Kriemhild as they looked at each other, not knowing what to make of the situation in front of them as he had a troubled look on his face. "So, why are you here?" Aslaug asked him as she was curious. "A spell that I had used to warn me about danger activated and I don't know what the danger is." Lucas said to them as he looked at the two women. "Wait, what kind of spell is that?" Kriemhild asked in surprise at hearing that. "That is a spell that I had discovered in the past, but for it to be activated means that it is going to be very dangerous. Not to mention, the chance of me dying is also high." Lucas said causing the two to look at him in surprise. "Truly?" Kriemhild asked in surprise, an emotion which was also mirrored by Aslaug. "Yes, this particular spell I used will warn me about great dangers and when I am going to be in a situation where I could lose my life." Lucas said to them as he reclined on his

Eske frowned as he sat on his throne as the last defeat of their kingdom against their enemy country of Norway. He had thought that they would have been able to beat the kingdom with the dragons that they have with them, and considering the fact that he has his own court mage, he was fairly certain that they would have been able to defeat the army. But the sudden arrival of that boy and his help in the war changed the tides causing them to lose the war and the two dragons. He was obviously displeased with what had happened as he had just lost to their enemies which will be a blow to the pride of his family. But he is also a bit relieved as they have managed to come to an agreement which isn't too exploitive. The fact that the contract was good enough to allow for them to maintain their rule was a good thing, even if they have to give the other kingdom money monthly and also have to give up the rights of the crystal cave as well. There was also the fact that it took a lot of thei

Lucas looked at the Alpha who is standing in front of him seriously as the man is looking at him a bit nervously while being looked at by Lucas very seriously. Lucas is the de facto leader of the boys and when he isn't leading them and giving them jobs then it's his duty to make sure that they work correctly. "So you got nothing unusual to report?" Lucas asked him seriously as he sat in his chair. "No sir. We did a check just as you had told us to, but we haven't found anything unusual happening inside the country. Even in the other noble families or around the royal palace." Alpha said to him seriously with a nod. Lucas narrowed his eyes at that as he reclined on the chair he is sitting on as he closed his eyes and thought about it. "My Lord, is this truly the right course of action." A soldier asked Eric as the group of soldiers were walking through a cave tunnel. "Yes. This is the way to get back the respect that I had lost because of our enemies." Eric said to him with a glare at the soldiers. The soldier's flinched at his glare as they knew that they couldn't and shouldn't do anything that might anger him. After all, as the prince of their kingdom, he can do anything he wants to them as he so wished. So doing anything to displease him as it might be dangerous to them. They also don't know what it is that their prince wants to find for himself in the cave, but as soldiers it is their duty to follow his orders and so that is what they are doing. "Now that's a good boy." Lucas said as he was petting Falkor. He is currently flying with the wyvern as he wanted to make sure that he had the ability to fly freely without anyone being afraid of it attacking. Even if he is his wyvern, the people will naturally be scared about a creature of its size. But he didn't mind it that much as he enjoyed flying with Falkor, as it was a way for him to be alone from his otherwise noble life. It is good, he will admit and having people around him and treating him with respect is a good thing, but sometimes he just wants to be left alone to enjoy some time alone. He looked at the kingdom from above and it was a bit cloudy so the people probably hadn't noticed them. Not to mention the fact that people don't usually look up so it would work in his favour. He has also been having his boys keep a watch around the kingdom for any kind of suspicious movement. Considering how the prince has acted, he doesn't want to let down his guard in case the

    Chapter 45

Eric threw the glass of alcohol across the room as it shattered after hitting the wall as the four maids who were serving him flinched from the violent action as they looked at him with slight fear. But the prince himself didn't care about their reactions as he had a pissed off expression as he glared at the wall. "My reputation has been tarnished and that damned boy is hailed as a hero!" Eric shouted in anger as the maids flinched again from his loud voice. After the end of the war, Eric's reputation in the kingdom had plummeted, no surprise that it has happened of course, as it was him who had decided to start the war with the other country. And their country has lost the war and was humiliated and lost two dragons under their control. And have also been shown to be inferior to their enemy, which has hurt the sentiments of many of the country as well. The other noble families of the kingdom were also of the same mind as they didn't like the fact that they had been defeated,
