*Ding* Congratulations, you have made a mage staff*
Kadan looked at the staff in his hand. "I wonder how I can channel it using my mana energy into it," he thought as mana swirled around his fingers before he inserted it into the mana crystal. The gem glowed but there was no reaction from the gem as it kept absorbing the mana that he had inserted into it "Hmmm" he thought as he held the staff with his fingers and channeled mana into the staff making it glow again before releasing another beam of light. "There have to be more things that this staff can do apart from just shooting rays of light" After a few days of practicing and experimenting, Kento managed to conclude. For him to channel and use the mana energy around the crystal at a faster and more effective pace then he had to concentrate on using the staff to gather the mana energy through the crystal rather than using his hands and fingers. If you used the crystal instead of his fingers he could manage to control the mana around the environment to work in better ways like the hardened antlers and the shield the gem made to protect itself from the mana ball. If he wanted to control the gem's mana ability, he needed to first of all control it. And by controlling it he couldn't do that by infusing energy into the gem but he had to insert it into the antlers. From the antlers to the gem he would have to link using his mana. He held the antler and channeled mana from his hand into it. The gem glowed and he could feel a link between the gem and him. He gathered the mana energy in the vicinity and managed to surround himself with a swirling mana. Slowly and slowly, he got the hang of how to use the staff and decided to return home to show his tribe. Upon reaching home, he met with his father who was waiting for him along with a few members of the tribe. Apart from Kadan, Kalo also had 3 more kids, and two were female. Kadan arrived in the tribe and he was given a glare by his father. "You've been away from the tribe for 2 weeks. What have you been up to??" Kalo asked. "Father I have something impressive to show you" "What is it now? It better be something good regarding your fantasy of improving our mana usage" said Kento Kalo. "Yes. That's exactly what it is" said Kadan. "Then show us what you have discovered and aren't those the antler of the deer that you brought two weeks ago," said Kalo. "Yes. I needed it for my experiment" said Kadan. The entire tribe gathered together for Kadan's reveal. Kadan in front of the entire tribe held the mana staff in his hand and linked the gem through the antler before proceeding to control it. The gem began to glow as mana began to gather towards it at a fast pace. Kadan concentrating used the mana to form a barrier around himself. "I need someone to hurl a rock at me," he shouted. Although cautious Kalo threw a rock at Kadan even though he made it miss, the rock still hit the shield and was deflected. "Impressive," said Kalo. Kadan removed his focus and the mana shield dispersed. Kadan concentrated on casting. The gem on the antler glowed again and shot a beam of light. The light beam hit the ground and when it had been shot, there was the presence of a pitch-black spot on the ground. The entire tribe was shocked at the discovery of this. They were all curious about how the gem had been made to perform different things all in the same manner of gathering energy without swirling the fingers differently. First a small shield, then a beam of light. "What other things can this staff do?" said Kalo. "There are others but for now, this is all I have discovered" Kadan replied. "Alright. Find out other ways of using this staff. It will be beneficial to our tribe in terms of hunting and mana usage" "Yes father," Kadan said. After showing the light beam that was shot and the mana shield, Kadan proceeded to search for more things that could be used by the staff" He returned to the cave where he always conducted his research and continued to discover more skills that the staff could generate. When the sky was turning dark, Kadan was about to search for wood to use as light. Then he thought "I wonder if the staff can also be used to make light" He took the staff and began to infuse his energy to establish a link with it. He took the staff and began to gather mana towards it. He managed to make the mana light up the cave by condensing around the gem which glowed. After a few hours, the gem stopped glowing which made the cave go dark. Using his hands, he managed to light the cave up. He wondered what was wrong with the staff and it stopped glowing. He proceeded to check and tried to light the cave up using the same method he had used earlier. "What's wrong? '' he thought. He tried all possible methods. Then he remembered that he had inserted mana into it a few weeks ago. He began to insert mana into the staff and then proceeded to use the same method of gathering the mana around the staff. After condensing the mana around the staff, the gem glowed again. He managed to form a theory from this. The staff absorbs mana which it uses to keep the condensed mana around to make light. Should the mana that it had absorbed be used up in keeping the condensed mana together, the condensed mana will be dispersed, making the light that it made go out. The mana that it absorbed was like fuel and when fuel is empty from a car, you know what happens. The mana absorbed was used to keep the mana that it had gathered in place and sustain it. After a few more days of using the staff, Kadan became adept in using mana through the staff. He started thinking "What if I could make a staff that channels energy through words? That will be better rather than taking longer periods to focus on gathering mana and trying to use it" Kadan looked at the staff and started to work towards using muttered words and sounds to cast spells and use mana. He tried and tried for days on using words to try to gather mana from the staff. But after trying, he discovered that it wasn't easy to use mana while putting the words and the form of behavior. Each word that was said to use mana had to make it behave differently. Let's say that glow was the word. The man had to gather around the gem and condense it for the gem to glow. If the word was a blast then the mana had to gather around the gem and condense itself before being shot towards its destination. Eventually, he found out that to use the words, the mana must be controlled to act that way. If after channeling energy to use you said the word blast. After practicing again and again and using the word blast during every casting, the mana should be able to react the way it should be when the word is said without using too much control. "Blast," said Kadan as he pointed his staff and a beam of light shot out towards the edge of the cave blasting rocks away in the process. *Ding* Congratulations you have unlocked the title mage* *Congratulations you have become a first-tier mage* "Seems like there is more to discover," said Kadan as he smiled and returned to his tribe to show his progress. As if the ending of a movie, the screen turned blank and reverted to the panel that it originally was. "This is great," said Shawn as the popcorn in his hands had already been eaten completely. "How I wished that I had picked him to be the first overseer but the wolf isn't that bad anyway" A notification appeared on the panel. Shawn had trouble taking the book as it was a very big one. He returned back to his seat in the library and began to open the book. When Stephanie came to see what he was reading she exclaimed"Woah. After all, there are a lot of books on the internet and some are just rubbish" Shawn said."Then might I suggest that you do something," Stephani said."Yes I'm listening" "Why not just speed through the book and jot down a few keywords to use and research on the net. After all there are computers in the library and you won't have to spend weeks at home reading an entire encyclopedia before you even start to write""Good Idea Steph. The image of a dwarf with blue eyes sitting down, his two hands which were clasped together began to slowly separate as sparks of light began to converge to form a glowing brown orb. The scenery changed, the same dwarf stood in front of an anvil with a hammer in his right hand and the same orb in his left hand. The dwarf began forging in front of him and before he knew it, a black dagger was forged. The dwarf then placed the orb close to the dagger and slowly the orb inserted itself into it. When it was completely inserted, the orb was nowhere else to be seen, the black blade of the dagger gradually changed to a light brown color and it glittered even with the lack of sunlight on its hilt. The entire scene vanished and he found himself back in the realm of the technology tree. He was confused as the orb he held began to withdraw from him. "Who are you?" said the key guardian with a crown. "King Keystone, fear not for I am not a foe." Keystone didn't flinch at the strange figures' appearance nor his words, he still carried a serious expression on his face "I'll ask again, who are you?" "I am a higher being I…" "Regardless of who you are, you are not supposed to be able to enter the realm of the tree. Only we can grant access to those worthy of entering.” Dulgol was starting to get annoyed at Keystone's constant interruptions and hostility but he wouldn't want to start a fight with him in his domain. He wasn't sure what level of

The winter thorns walked towards the dome-shaped houses in the center that had a tower protruding from it like a house with a chimney. The doors to the house were guarded by four thawns and opened when they approached. As they entered, a thawn with markings made from crystals that seemed to be glued to her face was sitting on the ice surface. In front of her was a pile of logs that burned brightly, ironic for a place with no wooden beam covering its inner shell. The Thawns then sat on the floor and waited for her to open her eyes. Once she did, they spotted a glint, "I trust that the hunt was a successful one." She said."Yes Voice of Ulkezi," said Zemo. The female Thawn then closed her eyes again and stretched her hand with crystal markings towards the fire. Her hands began to shake, letting specks of crystal dust into the fire. From the depths of the forest, two other thawns appeared, one wielding a decent-sized spear, made of wood and another with an ice bow. "Leader Meiz, the kill was remarkable," The one with the ice bow said. The female thawn at the tree top smiled at the remark, "Imreila, search the toothed tiger for any ores it might have, though it's little and still developing its form, it is still of value for the many thawns who are severely lacking in prowess." Imreila smiled at the response, "As expected of the one who wields one of the six powers of the weather," She thought while running towards the dead creature and cutting its chest open with one of her arrows. Meiz looked at the male thawn that was still standing by the tree side and nodded her head at him. He immediately understood that had to join Imreila in disassembling the Toothed Tiger. Her eyes gazed at the trees far in the distance, something wasn't right there and she hoped that her fellow tribesman were doing fine. "I can't tru

As soon as she came close to the wet ground, she then reached for the leather bag strapped to her waist and took some ash from it which she then threw on the ground before clapping her hands allowing more of the black powder to fall while she sang. After singing alone at first, the other females joined her to clap and sing.
