15. Patriarch election

“This shop has good items,” the Eye said.

Loris pretended to pick them one by one, acting as though he had nothing to buy. But in fact, he was following the Eye’s words, judging each item to find the real good items.

After picking different items, he finally lifted a small brick.

“That’s it,” the Eye said. “Pick that one.”

Loris felt it was strange, thinking the brick was nothing special. But he trusted the Eye with its knowledge and still bought the said item. The Eye explained it chose the brick for it contained ice magic crystal inside.

The merchant was slightly surprised. He himself didn’t expect someone would spot the brick’s true materials. “You have a keen eye, young man. Did you perceive its true contents inside by one glance?”

Loris realized the Eye truly didn’t lie.

“How much for this brick?” Loris asked.

“Well, the contents inside are rare and expensive but I’ll give you a discount. The total price is 500 gold pieces but for you, I’ll make it 400.”
