After Kajima understood the current situation from Yashimu and Rulu, he sat Shizu and Azi down inna seiza posture on the floor of the dining room. As they sat on their knees, they looked up in horror at the expression of rage in Kajima's devil-like eyes. He began his tirade about the modesty that an unmarried man and woman should have and threatened to throw them out to the streets if they continued such behavior under his roof.

This was countered as Azi and Shizu explained what really happened with blushing faces. They took turns as they retold their intimate moment last night and explained how it was a lucid dream. Kajima's eyes of wrath lessened as they then explained the details and learned that nothing sexual had occurred, but concern began to mar his expression.

He worried that Shizu was possibly forcing Azi down the path of her choosing by constantly enticing him with her body and antics, but it seemed that Azi explained how it was his own choice. While it was an unconscious

Azi conjured his magic tethers from his arms and as they extended they began glowing a brighter color of blue-ish white that made Nosuri and Ougi squint at the bright sight. While somewhat uncomfortable to look at as the shined is more in the confined space of the workshop, they could still see what Azi's tethers were doing. The tethers that came from each of his hands began to split into smaller lines of blue light that then connected to the 15 individual square pieces that were now attached to their weapons."This will only take an hour so please be silent as I work."With those curt words, Azi closed his eyes and focused on infusing magic into the square black pieces. The rune on each square piece began to glow and soon magic power began to circulate through the internal structure of their weapons.Nosuri and Ougi stared in great curiosity, they have been all across the lands of the Empire and they have never seen a kind of crafting, forging, or thaumaturgic technique that was like

As Azi told Nosuri that he was going to smack her weapon around, Nosuri paled and began to back away from the boy who seemingly had an innocent smile on his face as he shouldered an enormous great sword on his shoulder.Nosuri had misinterpreted his words as a proposition to spar with him. After seeing the abnormal strength and skills that Azi had in fighting and thaumaturge, Nosuri felt as if she had little chance of victory in even a simple spar. Before she could say a word in refusal, her brother Ougi had cut in."Excuse me Azi, but if you don't mind? Could we test my weapon first?"Azi shrugged in agreement as he didn't have any objections. Sighing, Nosuri gave her brother a silent prayer of thanks which Ougi responded with a knowing nod. Azi then instructed Ougi to prepare himself to block one of his attacks. He was going to perform a simple vertical downward slash, so all Ougi had to do was block it with both his sabers.Ougi nodded in understanding and drew his sabers from the

After everyone had stopped laughing and bantering, Azi was taken inside Kajima's house to get a medical checkup from Elder Sung and Saki. Rulu decided to do some housework as she did not have time to go shopping today as she had enjoyed Nosuri's story for too long and the market would be closed late into the day.Kajima went to his workshop to do his blacksmith work while Nosuri and Ougi decided to train until it was dinner.Inside Azi's and Shizu's shared room, Azi sat on the futon and was being examined by Elder Sung. She examined to see if there were any abnormalities in his physical body as she knew that his stunt in the forge had likely taken its toll on him.Elder Sung saw that Azi's body did have a few new scratches and faded scars and burns which prompted her to ask a pressing concern."Didn't I give you enough ointment and creams for your little project on Shizu's weapon?"Azi embarrassingly explained that he had gone through the entire supply of ointments and creams that he

  • Traveling Through Tales   Chapter 71 Training with Ougi

Decem 17th of 4831 AS A few peaceful days had passed and Azi was currently lightly sparring with Ougi in the clearing near Kajima's house. It was just after lunch and both fighters had a surplus of energy after eating a hearty meal. Kajima allowed Azi to spar with Ougi as he knew that the sparring he would do with Ougi would be less taxing than the sparring he usually did with Shizu. The Shizu’s usual sparring involved the use of actual weapons and Azi's use of magic which were not present in the current sparring session which was obviously evident by the lack of craters in Kajima’s wide yard. Throwing a punch aimed at Ougi's chest, Azi thought that he was able to land a clean hit but just before he made contact Ougi deftly moved the side with a single turn of his waist and then grabbed Azi's outstretched wrist in a firm grip. Repositioning himself, Ougi tripped Azi's leading foot which had caused Azi to fall forward. Ougi then used this to his advantage as he swiftly threw Azi

Decem 18th of 4831 AS During the morning of the 4th day of sparring practice with Ougi, Ben and Bail had dropped by Kajima's house. It was an awkward situation as Ougi had again thrown Azi over his shoulder. Lying flat on the snowy ground, Azi groaned a bit but noticed that two familiar figures were standing over him. They looked at him wryly, and Ben asked a bit worried that they might have come at a bad time. "Hey Azi, is now a good time?" Getting to his feet, Azi dusted the snow off his clothes and looked to Ougi who was a few paces away. Giving Ougi a look to convey his question of if they could have a break, Ougi responded with a smile and a nod. In the few days that Azi spent with Ougi, this was a way of communication between them was picked up as it seemed that Ougi had the ability to read the mood and expressions of others. It made conversations with him brief and concise. Azi still had a hard time trying to read Ougi's expressions as his squinted eye made it hard for hi

Decem 20th of 4831 ASIn the throne room in the capital, Kujyuri, Ozen was having a meeting with his council members concerning the recent letter delivered by the group of his 4 youngest sons. They had arrived a couple days prior and had already left for Shisayama as they intended to spend time with Rulu in an impromptu vacation in preparation for the heavy amount of work they would face at the change of the season.Ozen would have usually scolded them for skipping out on their work but realized that it was better that they went to Shisayama to protect Rulu due to recent events. He could also trust Shizu and Yashimu to whip their younger brothers into shape as the noticeable bruise on the second youngest was still noticeable when he arrived in Kujyuri.Deftly bringing his attention back to Jerome, who was the current speaker of the meeting, Ozen listened as he relayed the contents of the recent letter.*To King Ozen,During a recent expedition into the western mountains of Shisayama,

Chapter 74 Rest and Relaxation As Ougi's right fist flew through the air towards Azi's face, Ougi had a slight grin on his somewhat ever stoic face. His brow furrowed in the next moment as he did not feel the expected sensation of Azi's face against his gloved fist. Deftly moving his less dominant left hand, Ougi caught an unexpected punch coming at his right side that was just out of his blind spot. He had noticed a few strands of a familiar head of disheveled black hair pass by his side after his punch missed. It was Azi and he had spun to Ougi’s right while using his left foot as a pivot to move out of the path of Ougi's punch. Using his small stature, Azi slouched a bit to hopefully hide from Ougi's sight as he closed the gap between his fist and Ougi’s face. Azi had been trying to improve his hand to hand combat and grappling techniques for the past two weeks and was beginning to show progress. After being constantly thrown to the snowy ground, he learned how to evade and cou

After Shizu successfully dragged Azi into the bath, she began to strip him of his clothes with a gleeful expression. Azi, unable to resist her overbearing strength, felt immense indignation as his body was laid bare to a woman's eyes. While both Azi and Shizu had both gotten used to seeing each other's naked bodies, it was uncomfortable in this situation as there was not an air of professionalism or etiquette. Additionally, the gleeful look on Shizu's face annoyed Azi as he knew that this young woman got a kick out of tormenting him. With all his strength, Azi attempted to keep the last layer of clothes that protected his manhood from sight. Shizu was straddling over Azi's body and she gripped the hem of his pants. "NOOOOOOO! SHIZU STOP!" "OH COME ON!.... AZI! IT'S JUST A BATH. NO NEED TO BE SHY!" Shizu grunted a bit and was able to gain some ground as the pants started to slip down Azi’s waist. He trembled in fear as he did not want to face Shizu's antics in the bath as his heart

    Chapter 106 Arrival in Kujyuri

On the 7th day of the journey, the caravan finally arrived at the gates of the Kujyuri. The welcome was quite extravagant since word had reached the capital that Rulu would be returning early. Even though she had only left the capital for a few weeks, she was very much missed by her people as the usual sight of Rulu helping the commoner had become a daily occurrence for them. This was also a special time as all of Ozen’s children would be returning. While not making any noteworthy actions during the ambush from the Uzuruans, Ozen’s 4 youngest sons had accompanied the caravan and were delegated to grunt work by Shizu to aid in the guarding of the second carriage under Touma’s command. The 4 brothers sighed in relief when they rode past the gate on their personal hororon mounts. They heard the cheers of the citizens grow loud at the front of the caravan since the people began to catch sight of Rulu, who sat on the front seat of the front carriage with Yashimu.Rulu blushed a bit, as th

Finished with situating the captured assailants, the caravan returned to its journey to the capital Kujyuri. The assailants were tied up and sat in an empty space in the supply carriage pulled along by the second carriage of the caravan. A guard took the reins at the front while at the back, Azi and Touma sat inside. Touma, who was in charge of the second carriage’s safety, was currently applying a magic binding spell on the assailants which caused them to feel sluggish and heavy. This magic spell derived its roots from colorless magic as it did not emit any elemental color when used. When Azi asked Touma about the spell, he commented that it sounded like gravity magic which sparked Touma’s natural curiosity that came from being the scholarly thaumaturge he was. A lengthy conversation about Azi’’s rudimentary knowledge about physics ensued and this was somewhat like a kind of punishment for the assailants. The constant back and forth of the two made it impossible for any of them to

After a somewhat rough awakening, Azi now stood outside of the carriage he was just sleeping in. The cold night air chilled his skin but it did little to help his situation as he could still feel the stinging heat from the red teeth marks on the side of his neck. He looked to his right and saw the offending person who had bitten him in his sleep. Noticing his gaze, Shizu turned her head away in embarrassment and coughed a bit to divert the conversation. “Let’s get going. If we don’t act quickly, the enemy will get away and we'll be left with no answers to our questions.” Azi sighed and gave a nod of agreement before running off with Shizu who was followed by a group of their caravan’s guards. Meanwhile, Kajima and Yashimu had agreed to stay near their carriage in order to keep watch over their belongings and to guard Rulu. Of the caravan’s guard detail of 50 people, 20 guards protected the first carriage, 10 guards with Ozen’s four youngest sons and Touma protected the second car

Chapter 103 Traveling to The Capital

Duodecem 18th of 4831 AS During the end of winter, snow was still prevalent in the nation of Kujyuri as it was known for its year long snowfall. The caravan, while unhindered from the lessening snow, still felt the effects as the personnel still slightly shivered from the cold while in the middle of their trek through the forest and mountain paths of the snowy nation. It had been 3 days since the caravan had begun the 7 days journey to the capital and all their pace was good. It consisted of three carriages that each pulled along an additional storage carriage that was filled with the caravan’s belongings and supplies. They traveled in a line formation and were protected by the remaining group of guards that came with Rulu when she was traveling out of Kujyuri for the first time. Over half of her original guard was killed during the trek to Shisayama since they redirected their travel path to answer a distress call made by Shizu and her forces who were out on an expedition concern

    Chapter 102 Winter Departure

Duodecem the 15th of 4382 AS On a somewhat warmer winter morning, for the first time in a while, Azi was spending time outside of his house and getting some exercise by sparring with Nosuri. As two arrows came flying at him, Azi jumped to the side in a panic. Being somewhat quick on his feet, he narrowly dodged it but was unable to retaliate against his opponent as he did not have his gauntlets equipped nor was he reinforcing his body with magic energy. In fact, Azi was purposefully not using his magic since the scrutinizing gaze that Shizu gave at the side told him to not even dare to try it. The reason for this started with Azi who, after constant protest, was able to convince Shizu to let him out of the house under the condition that he would be supervised by her at all times and that he did not use any magic. Shizu added the no magic condition as she had started to suspect that his magic energy was somewhat unusual and out of control. Recently, she deduced that a possible cau

    Chapter 101 Results and Rests

A few days after Azi awoke from his long slumber, he felt a familiar, but overly warm sensation encapsulating him. His eyes flickered open as his usual habit of waking at the crack of dawn kicked in. He moved his head to survey his surroundings and he again felt a soft sensation brush against his cheek. Believing that it was a pillow, Azi proceeded to bury himself in its ever comfortable feeling. Unexpectedly, what caught his attention was that he felt as if the pillow was pushing him closer. It took him a couple seconds to realize that there were a pair of arms around his head that were holding him firmly while at the same time a pair of legs were wrapped around his lower waist. Waking up a bit more, Azi then realized that he was in the somewhat clingy, but unsurprising position of being hugged like a pillow by Shizu. For the past few days, Azi noticed that Shizu had become more clingy since the day he woke up. She would usually hug him from behind whenever they slept together in

On the night of the fourth day after the incident, Shizu had invited Rulu, Nosuri, and Ougi for dinner as Rulu offered to make Shizu a meal to help lift her spirits. While Shizu wanted to help cook for everyone she was not allowed into the kitchen due to Rulu’s insistence, so Shizu was relegated to setting the table. Her mind was still on Azi as he still showed no signs of waking up anytime soon, but after placing down the last of the plates Shizu caught a whiff of the food and felt her mind calm a bit. She then saw that the meal was ready as Nosuri and Ougi were walking over with plates of food in hand. Taking another whiff of the delicious smell in the air, Shizu sighed in relief and she complimented Rulu. “Your cooking always smells so good Rulu, I truly wish I could eat your food everyday.” Shizu then proceeded to rub her cheek against her younger sister’s as she gave a forceful hug charged with sisterly love. “T-Thank you Sister, but please not in front of the others. Shizu slumped on the couch in the living room of Azi’s house. It was a piece of furniture they had picked out on their day out due to how soft and comfy the black colored couch felt to the touch. Filled with Horonon feather, the couch felt somewhat firm but pliable like a stiff bean bag. Its outer cover was made of fur from an animal that was not local to Kujyuri which made buying it quite pricey, but the two of them chose to splurge a bit on their shopping date.It had been 3 days since the festival disaster and since then, Shizu and Yashimu were at work as they took turns throughout the day to take command of the relief efforts. One would take command of the village guard while the other would rest. It was currently Shizu's turn to sleep but she had to attend an unscheduled meeting with Jerome who demanded to see Azi.Shizu told him that he was injured during the disaster and that he would not be able to see anyone at the moment. He was then called to meet with Shizu and Yashimu to discuss the relief efforts to combat the issues that will arise from this sudden monster attack. Jerome expected to get a tongue lashing from both of them, but he didn’t expect what was now on his table. After their meeting, Yashimu gave Jerome a packet of papers and was instructed to review them for the meeting that would take place the next day.
