Chapter 30- First Duty.

Jefferson was surprised that Jeremy already knew about the people they were investigating for corruption. It seemed like Jeremy had insider knowledge, even though it was his first day on the job.

Jefferson began to wonder if Jeremy had some kind of advantage like a connection or something, that gave him all this info or was it was just a lucky guess.

“As you command, sir,” Jefferson said. He bowed respectfully, then disappeared out of the room. He returned shortly after, the manager.

The manager’s face was pale, his brow beaded with sweat. He knew something was amiss. after all, a summons to the CEO’s office on his first day could not bode well.

“You asked to see me, sir?” Austin trembled, his eyes darting between Jeremy and the space behind him as if searching for answers in the walls.

“How much were you paid for this particular contract?” Jeremy demanded, jabbing a finger at the damning contract with the West family name.
