The Williams family was taken aback when Mrs. Peters barged into their living room unannounced, a triumphant and mocking smile plastered across her face. Her unexpected arrival left them grappling with a mix of surprise and unease.

Mrs. Williams, attempting to diffuse the tension, addressed their unwelcome guest. "To what do we owe this visit? No calls or even a message to pre-inform us," she said, trying to maintain a sense of normalcy despite the guilt and embarrassment she felt over her failed efforts to secure Steve's release.

Mrs. Peters, seemingly basking in their discomfort, responded with a prideful tone, "Nothing much." Her eyes scanned the room with a hint of disgust as if appraising the worth of their home and finding it lacking.

"Firstly, I must apologize for not getting back to you regarding your son's release," Mrs. Williams said, attempting to maintain a sense of decorum despite the palpable tension in the room.
