Seeing that his last resort failed and Gwen was back to normal, the cultivator wanted to kill himself. He already knows that failing at the hands of a mage won’t result in his being in any good condition. So he opted to kill himself.

“I am going to end my life. Pardon me,” the cultivator bowed to Nathan in kneeling positions and fetched his pistol out.

He glanced at Nathan for one last time, who had already turned away from the cultivator and gone to the gangster who was lying unconscious. Gwen followed the suit.

“Bang,” Nathan and Gwen heard the gunshot sound from behind; the gunpowder filled all over and the smell of the firing mixed with the smell of blood filled the place. Even after hearing the sound, Nathan knows that the cultivator has already killed himself. Without even glancing at his body, he said to Gwen,

“One wicket down.”

“Hmm, let’s see what he says,” Gwen replied and Nathan nodded his head. He kicked the gangster in the abdomen without any mercy. Even after noticing that he had already backed out after getting the shocks of his life, one after another, the gangster collapsed with fear.

When he got kicked, he opened his eyes and looked at Nathan, who was standing in front of his eyes with a cold and murderous gaze.

“So finally, you are awake. Now quickly answer my questions,” Gwen said. Hearing her voice, the gangster looked at her and the girl he had seen when he met her a while ago was nowhere to be found. Her face was cold, her eyes were red and there was no trace of emotion. He just nodded his head, feeling too weak to talk. He was more frightened after looking at both gazes.

“Who was the mastermind behind all this?” She directly posed her question to him.

“He is none other than the head of the Pinkerton gang,” the gangster answered. Gwen took two minutes to possess the information he shared.

“Miss Smith, I am really sorry for my actions. Please forgive me and spare me. I will do whatever it is,” the gangster pleaded with a gleam of hope in his eyes yet, despite the pleading, he already knew that it was the last day for him.

“I don’t have that word in my dictionary. Have a safe trip,” Gwen said, firing the bull directly into the middle of his eyes. His face got teared up and blood started oozing out.

Gwen and Nathan moved from there and then he changed himself into normal clothes and got into her car. This time Naythan was driving the car and Gwen sat in the passenger seat.

“Miss Smith, there is something you need to know about Old Smith,” Nathan said, glancing at the road ahead of them.

“What was that?” Gwen asked worriedly. She thought he was fine but listening to Nathan’s words, she felt scared.

“Old. Smith wasn’t hospitalized because of his health and to be honest, his health was totally fine but someone poisoned him. Seeing the attack on you and your grandfather, I felt there was some connection. It was clearly evident that someone is trying to target the Smith family,” Nathan explained what he felt and after giving it some thought, Gwen looked at Nathan and said,

“Stay with me and save me from all their hidden dangers.”

Nathan, who was already looking for an opportunity to get closer to the Schmidt family, found a way to stay. Without showing it out, he questioned,

“What was my position?"

“It will be revealed at a charity event tonight. I am going to announce it at that time so stay patiently till evening,” Gwen answered, to which he subtly nodded his head.

On the opposite side of the city, in the Belloberg central hospital, where Gwen's grandfather was staying, Karina's mother and brother were also admitted to the same hospital, but they were in the general ward.

“Mom, I want to avenge that bastard. How dare he raise his hands on me? I want him to be punished and beat him,” Kyle cried and said to his mother, to which she swiftly agreed.

“Then you both should contact the gang and ask them to attack him,” Alex Atwood suggested. Hearing Alex's suggestion, the mother-and-son duo happily agreed.

After a while, Karina reached the hospital, went to look at her brother and asked,

“Kyle, how are you feeling now?”

“Karina, you should avenge your brother,” Katrina’s mother declared.

“Kyle, leave all this and let it go." Karina tried to persuade her brother.

“No, Karina! I am not going to leave it. He must accept his mistake and apologize to me for kneeling on my knees,” Kyle said.

“I didn’t do anything to deserve this. I have just taken his tinder as a form of compensation for the three years that he has been living at your house without complaint. Not only did he hit me, but he also threatened me to get his Tinder ABC within three days, and I have no intention of ever giving it back to him. He did not just leave after hitting me.”

Only after listening to her brother's confession did Karina learn exactly what had happened and why he raised his hands at her brother.

“Do you even know what you did? Do you ever know the value and respect he possesses for that tinder? Did I ever ask you to get back the money from him? Just give it back to him,” Karina scolded her brother.

“Why should we give it back? He didn’t earn a buck and totally got dependent on you so when you divorce him, we should get something back, right?” Karina’s mother and brother questioned her.

“Yes, whatever they said was correct. I didn’t find anything wrong with this. He was sitting at your home and eating on your money so it was not a huge mistake. Alex Atwood supported Katrina’s mother and brother, which made them happy.

Karina ignored Alex and walked out of the ward.

“How could we do this? Even after staying together for three years, I would have known his habits but after listening to my mother and brothers, I didn’t even think for a second before calling him and blaming him." Karina felt guilt about her doings. Even though she felt guilt, she didn’t have time to care about anything else as she was about to form a partnership with the Smith’s family. She needs to earn more and implement her business more so she can get more connections. She believes that if money is there, she can do anything.

After Karina left, Alex got angry because she ignored him like a piece of dust.

“How should I take her company and Karina into my hands?" Alex thought to himself.
