"You and I need to have a little chat before I kill you," Scott growled coldly, his gun firmly aimed at the man’s forehead.

The muscular man knelt on the floor, his palm still clutching his bleeding arm, blood seeping through his fingers and dripping onto the polished metal beneath him. His face was flushed—red not just from rage, but from the searing pain radiating through his shoulder.

"You're going to answer my questions," Scott said, voice as icy as a winter gale. "Every time you disobey or refuse, I'll put a bullet in a different part of your body until you bleed out and die."

The man simply shrugged, grimacing in pain, but said nothing.

"Who are you people? And why the hell are you after me?" Scott demanded.

Scott sat in the jet, wiping the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand. His breathing, which had been erratic just moments earlier, was finally beginning to stabilize. He leaned back in the seat, trying to regain composure.A moment later, the door to the cockpit slid open with a soft hiss, and Sullivan stepped out. His expression was etched with confusion and lingering shock from the attack."What the hell was that all about, boss? Who were those guys?" he asked, his voice low and cautious, still processing the chaos they had just escaped.Scott didn’t respond immediately. He let out a deep sigh, his eyes briefly closing as he ran a hand down his face."It’s a long story, and now’s not the time to tell it," he said calmly, keeping his tone composed. "Just focus on flying the jet."Sullivan nodded slowly but wasn’t entirely satisfied. “Alright, but… how do we know nothing critical got damaged? I mean, they shot at us like maniacs. His hands trembled slightly, and a visible sheen of sweat covered his forehead."Please... have mercy," he stammered, barely able to lift his head. "I don't know what came over me. I... I didn't mean to attack you." His voice was drenched in fear, and his heart thudded violently against his ribs.Scott’s expression hardened. He stood towering above Zhang Yang, his jaw clenched tight. "And here I was thinking I could trust you," he said coldly. "But in the end, you're no different from Wang Jian." His tone was filled with bitter disappointment. He picked up a glass of whiskey and took a sip before ordering one of the guards to take the box to his car outside. He couldn't stand seeing the box anymore, knowing it was the head of his friend sitting inside."So when will we be leaving, boss?" Sandro inquired after a short moment of silence."Once the party is over, I'll be on my way," Scott responded. "I've already ordered Sullivan to fly the jet to China. He will arrive in a couple of hours," he added."I see. And have you thought of the person who will rule the empire while you are away?" Sandro inquired."Yes, I have. I already have someone in mind," Scott replied instantly as he sipped his whiskey."It has to

I swear," he said in Chinese, his tone drenched in fear. "I didn't see his face clearly. He wore a hoodie. He simply gave me the box and said it was a special gift for you," he added."So a hooded man came here and gave you a box, telling you to take it to the boss—and you did, without asking questions or finding out who he was?!" Zhang Yang voiced out in anger. "You're lying. There's more to the story.""He's right. Why would you receive something from a man who's hiding his face under a hoodie? You had no idea who he was.
