CHAPTER 144

Sarah interrupted Janet as she was speaking, her words suggesting that she wasn't going to be easily fooled by her. “And what were all those texts you have been sending to me? Just last night you said that you will cut out my tongue if I don't talk with Paul and prefer solutions on getting Lady Winston to have the antidote.”

Janet swallowed giving herself time to think of the response she was going to come up with as she searched the gaze of Thomas and Frank.

“Those words I spoke - I didn't really mean them. They were out of the frustration that I was experiencing because I couldn't help but see our mother in this state,” Janet spoke, her tone low with feigned compassion.

“Nonsense!” Sarah blurted out. “I wasn't born two months ago, Janet. To make things clearer to you, I am older than you and apparently more intelligent than you.”
