CHAPTER 22

The cashier inserted the card into the machine but it was still the same notification.

The cashier got angry and threw the card at Sarah. “What nonsense! Are you trying to play a prank on me? We don't need poor people in this store. Broke people and audacity - we will never see the end of it.”

The card ricocheted off Sarah’s face and straight to the ground at the same moment that Ms. Teresa was walking toward the cashier.

Ms. Teresa saw the card on the floor and snickered naughtily, her lips curled in a scornful manner. “Hahaha, are you so broke that you can't afford a couple of wipes and creams? Hahaha, I was right after all. You are so useless.”

“Honestly, you shouldn't have divorced Paul because both of you belong to the same league - your poverty is stinking.”

Sarah bowed her head in shame. What a day it had been for her. Will the trouble ever end? Will she ever find peace again?
