“What?! Are you asking me to excuse you? Who are you to tell me to excuse you? I am bringing to your notice something which you should take into consideration but you are too shallow to understand,” Mr. Timber fumed.“Sir, I have no problem with you. I just….” the nurse said but Mr. Timber interrupted her.“I have no problem with you either but I assure you that you will regret the day you were born if you bring up a reason why I should have a problem with you.”The nurse retracted her gaze away from Mr. Timber in a manner that seemed like she had succumbed. She really didn't want to annoy Mr. Timber. She was just an ordinary nurse on an average pay - why would she want to lock horns with someone from one of the richest families around?“Apologies Sir,” she uttered, bowing her head slightly.“I forgive you. I am sure you don’t know quite well who you were talking with and that is why you had the guts to ask that I excuse you,” Mr. Timber said, his shoulder rising in a pompous manner.
“How dare you assume that I would be jealous of you? Are you trying to turn this around and make yourself look like someone who isn't an idiot? You really have the guts to tell me to keep quiet. I will show you what it means for a cleaner and errand boy to talk back at someone like me.”Mr. Timber was clearly angry but he was still not done processing what Paul told him. Had they really divorced? Who was Sarah now pregnant for? He tried to crack his brain so that he could identify her suitors but it could be any of them.He thought of calling Sarah many times to woo her one last time but she always made up one excuse or the other as to why they couldn't even go on a date. Mr. Timber had always assumed that Paul was the reason for his constant rejection from Sarah.“Since you have not learned your lesson, you will….” Mr. Timber paused and then turned over to the nurse. “Excuse us, nurse,” he asked.“And why would I do that Sir, I came here to help Paul today. If I miss his chance, we m
“Shusssh! You need to be quiet,” Mr. Timber said, forcing the envelope into his pocket and straightening his uniform.“That is for you to go in there and get Paul arrested — he is the one on that hospital bed. I am sure you can do that for me right? I mean 500 dollars would make you look more handsome, wouldn't it? You could afford a few more of those male toning creams,” he winked toward the security even though he was still very fidgety, sweat forming a camp on his forehead.“But Sir, I don't have such powers. I don't have the power to arrest on my own. I can only restrain a person while I inform my bosses to come and make the arrest.”Mr. Timber’s mouth curled into a false smile, disappointment written on his face. “Erm, okay then. This is what you are going to do. I need you to request his license. If he doesn't have, you are going to tell your bosses that you have reason to believe that he attempted to kidnap the grandmaster but unfortunately got into an accident.”Officer Yoro’s
“Okay, okay, Listen to me. Let's start here, what is your name?” Paul asked.“Camille.”“Alright Nurse Camille, I need you to take a breath. Take it in, take it out,” Paul urged Camille, leading her through the way as she tried to breathe in and breathe out.“Take it in, breath out—-take it in, breath out,” Paul led Camille through the procedure for almost 90 seconds before she started feeling a little better. Her hands were still fidgety but at least she didn't look like she was going to faint the next minute anymore. She soon folded her fists to absorb the pressure. “Hey, look. Paul or whatever your name is—since I started my career almost 10 years ago, I have never had a patient who gives me as much trouble as you have done.”“What do you mean? You agreed to come down here with me.”“Oh, are you now going to pin this on me?” the nurse flared her nostrils.“No, no—I am not trying to pin anything on you. I appreciate you coming down here.”“Which was a huge mistake,” the nurse cut in
“Okay, listen. My grandfather is a popular name among the richest families in the country. He is known to be the sole owner of the Imperial Society Syndicate,” Paul explained, still trying to hide the fact that Grandpa Leonard had now willed most of his possessions to him and put him as the head of the syndicate.Camille listened intently, her brows furrowed in concentration as Paul continued.“He has a lot of allies but also enemies. It's impossible to be that wealthy and influential without having a host of enemies who want to kill you.”“Hmm, I guess you are right,” Camille nodded.“Yes. He is currently in his most vulnerable state right now as he is lying on that hospital bed. If I had enough strength, I would have fought off the paramedics and prevented them from bringing them here. He has more than enough to give himself private medical care which is top-notch.”“That is why I have been asking about his condition. I am very sure that several men from these families would have be
“You trust me don't you?” A smirk formed on Camille’s face as she asked. She had a determined eye on her as she rubbed her fist slightly in readiness.“Sure, of course, I do,” Paul responded. “Are you going to put on the maintenance worker uniform now?”“No, not yet. But I will,” she responded.Paul was trying to guess what plan Camille had in her head but he didn't want to pressure her into revealing because it might suggest that he didn't trust her enough. He had to give her all the confidence in the world - she was doing it for him after all.“Take my card. Call me when we get through all of these. It's a secured network,” Paul said before hugging Camille and giving her a confident thumbs up as he took off to the balcony area to begin the task of relocating his grandfather. Camille took a deep breath, scanning the area one last time before bending her head low to avoid being seen. Her senses heightened and there was a feeling within her that got her thinking she could do it. There
There was satisfaction within her soul that the first steps of her plan worked out.The room was empty - free for her to do what she wanted. She angled her gaze to the Public Address System. It was mounted on the wall just opposite the door. It had a speaker and a control panel just below it.Knowing that she had very little time, she locked the door behind her and moved over to the control panel, her hands trembling slightly as she took the microphone. She took a deep breath. It was now or never - she then spoke into the microphone. “Attention, please! Attention! There is a fire situation in the building. Attention once again! There is a fire situation in the building. Please evacuate the premises immediately. All occupants are required to leave through any of the exits available. Orderliness is required as you carry on the process.”The sound from the public address system meandered through the halls and traveled through every room prompting the occupants to freeze, their bodies jol
The hospital room was quiet and the voices he heard were now gone. He wished he had at least sighted them though - it would help him have an idea of who his enemies were. The only sound he could hear was his old man’s silent breathing. His eyes were still closed though as he lay still.Paul’s heart felt a relief as he moved closer and realized that Grandpa Leonard still had live in him. There was a slight improvement from the accident site. There were tubes attached to his Grandpa’s body which he couldn't remove so he quickly walked over to the handle of the bed and carted him away with all the tubes and wires attracted to him. He wanted to take advantage of the commotion from the crowd so he acted fast.He removed his mask so that people would not have any reason to pay an attention to him but he was swift and purposeful as he slipped through the crowd unseen. Other people were carting away their patients so it made it easier for him to camouflage himself.Paul heaved a sigh of relie
