CHAPTER 59

“What? Wha—” Mr. Hodson’s eyes were wide in wonder. Things were getting too heated and even though he seemed up to the task in his last statement, he was beginning to fold.

“I said get out!” Miriam roared again, her voice loudly traveling out of her office.

Mr. Hodson had seen enough. His body was stiff in terror and his mind shook with panic. In an instant, he jolted out of his seat and reached for the door, his movement slow and calculated as he got out.

Miriam banged her right hand on her seat so loudly in anger, the files on her desk feeling the force coming from the hit as they flew away in pieces.

Miriam soon after bowed and buried her head in her hands as if she had just come to a realization that she acted very weirdly.

Tears began to come off her face as her eyes were downcast. She screamed at the top of her voice as if she was letting out something inside of her that she had piled up inside of her for so long.

Of course, she knew that she had overreacted with Mr. Hodson. Sh
