Chapter 1: Unpredictable Life

Life is truly unpredictable, what you have right now won't be there the next moment. In this world, people are classified and have levels of richness. And that has been deciding how one will treat others. The

If there was rich, there was poor. As the world started entering the evolution phase, the rich started becoming richer while the poor continued to become poorer.

Until life is supporting you, live every moment you spend and cherish all the memories. Because once you start taking everything for granted, Karma is there waiting for you.

The XY City,

On the road of most elite countries, a young lad continued to drive at full speed, not caring about anything or anyone, his car speed rose to the highest mark.

There was no expression on his face but it could be seen in his actions that he was pissed at something or someone. Dressed in a heavy expensive fabric, his clothes alone were six digits on the scale of expensiveness, he had colored his hair to golden blonde, some piercing around his ears to his lip, quite handsome yet giving off bad boy vibes.

He seemed to be talking on the phone, a smirk appeared on his face. " Father, you want me back home? Fine, I will return, but in return, you must kick everyone out. I can't tolerate your side of the family, you know that ", There was displeasure and discontent on his face mixed with anger and agony.

"You can decide whether you wanna return or not, but I won't kick my family out of the house. Rot in there." Said the father in displeasure and anger.

Andrien's father was holding on to a table for support because his son had a sharp tone that could give him a heart attack at any moment.

It could be seen that Andrien was displeased with the way his father spoke to him. But well, what could he even do about it? His father has always been partial to him, only caring about his side family rather than his blood relations. So there was no hope in trying to talk him out.

"That's what you said, goodbye." Andrien hung up the phone on his father with those last words of his.

His hand slammed on the car wheel in anger as his focus on the road was unbalanced, not caring for anything he turned on the music in the car on high volume.

His mind was already divided into many places and thoughts, on top of that, his head was hurting from the hangover, not to mention he was drunk and driving despite that, his vision was becoming blurry on the road as he failed to focus.

As the car continued to run forward at high speed, all the factors that gathered in his mind deluded him from seeing the front car that approached him at the same high speed. Before Andrien could process and evacuate the situation, the stranger's car crashed into his, sending his car along with him flying off the bridge.

Life is unpredictable, one can't predict what will happen next, Andrien fell into the ocean alone with his with no return in life.

In the X City,

"You dared talk..." A middle-aged woman shouted in anger as she threw the glass in a certain direction.

The glass didn't hit anyone fortunately but shattered on the wall, the broken shards of it flew in the air and hit the cheek of a young lad in a chili red color work uniform, blood started oozing out from the sharp crack, yet the young man remained calm.

"Ma'am! If you have any misunderstanding, you can check your order, I didn't make a mistake." Jonas spoke in a falling tone despite being hit by the mad woman for a mistake he didn't make.

The woman roared in rage when he talked back to her, her old and experienced ears were not ready to hear the right words. "You filthy and rotten delivery man, how dare you talk back. Listen, you have no standing in society, so don't you dare tell me what's right and what's wrong."

Jonas was just there to deliver the Pizza that the woman ordered through the online app, she specified she wanted a large size double chees bust pizza. She did get what she ordered, but now she was finding faults in that she didn't order this pizza and instead, it was a normal-sized pizza with regular toppings. Even when Jonas showed her what she ordered, she refused to admit it and didn't wanna pay.

"Miss! I have a job to keep, and I have already delivered what you ordered. Please pay the money so I can leave." Said Jonas in a soft and calm tone, he didn't want to fight with her when this job was way more important to him.

"Pay you? For what? For delivering the wrong order? No way...get out or else I am gonna give you 1 star. Just leave before I take any action." Said the woman in an angry yet threatening tone.

Jonas got scared when he heard that. If he was a normal delivery man, he wouldn't mind getting one star and returning the humiliation to this lady. But the situation he was in, couldn't be allowed him to act himself and do anything he would regret later on.

He got a part-time job as a delivery man with many difficulties, he couldn't afford to throw away this chance.

"Ma'am! Please calm down. I... alright, just take the pizza but don't rate me 1 star. I will leave...I will leave." He begged the woman.

He was going through a financial crisis and needed money urgently, and this job was paying him handsomely. It was just one pizza, he could afford to buy it or pay for it. But once he loses this job, it would be game over for him. Finding another job would be too difficult for a poor person like him.

The woman was satisfied with the result, she smirked evilly and told his men to throw Jonas out of the house, she closed the door in his face.

Disheartened as he was, he moved to the next location to deliver the food packages.

He stood still in front of the renewed building with takeout orders in his hands, looking at the building with envy and jealousy, knowing damn well how he could never be one of the people living in that luxurious building, gazing at a certain apartment.

The blood on his cheek was already dried out and he was just staring at the building.

Jonas, a delivery guy from Cherry Blossom restaurant, had to deliver hundreds of food parcels to the people known as the customers of the restaurant. Customers were like God, who could make one rise or fall flat to the ground. And getting 1 star from them means you could lose your job, he didn't want to get fired.

He was in a hurry to go inside the building when suddenly the phone in his pocket started ringing and vibrating violently. He reached out to his pocket to grab the phone and pick it up quickly, the number was not new to him.

The moment he saw the number, he knew something was wrong and had to pick it up without a second delay.

"Mr. Jonas, hurry to the hospital."

The person on the other side of the phone said urgency but didn't specify what happened or the urgency, but it could be seen in her voice that it was important and an urgent matter.

Leaving everything behind, he started running towards the road to get a taxi back to the hospital.

"I will be there soon, please take care of her for me."

He had to deliver all the good orders, but after getting the news from the hospital, he had no choice but to put a hold on his current work. After all, she mattered most to him.

He rushed to the hospital and went to her ward directly. When he arrived, he saw many doctors gathered around his one and only baby sister, he could only get a glimpse of her since she was hidden inside as everyone surrounded her.

Taking a deep breath and catching it, he rushed to his sister's bed.

"Doctor, what's wrong with my sister?" He asked in a worried tone, his eyes not leaving the sight of his sister who was lying unconscious on the bed.

When Jonas saw the bandage wrapped around her head, he just gripped the corner of his shirt, he was angry at himself for leaving her alone.

"Ms. Ari fell from the first floor while taking a walk, good thing the doctor caught her in time when she fell, so she just hurt her head slightly," said the doctor in a calm tone.

Jonas couldn't thank the doctor enough for what he did for her. " Thank you for saving my sister in time ".

"Mr. Jonas, we can't delay the treatment anymore. Her condition is getting more severe day by day. You must understand how important time is for her. If she doesn't get surgery soon, she will lose all hope of living normally or not even get the chance to live." Said the doctor in a serious tone. By no means he was lying.

Jonas's sister had a serious and rare illness, it was quite severe.

Hearing that, Jonas was hurt and saddened. Of course, he knew the importance of the right time, and he knew how crucial the current time was. But...

"Doctor, can we talk somewhere else? Please." He said looking at him after glancing at his baby sister.

All the doctors agreed and left the room along with him. Before leaving the room, he tucked his baby sister in the quilt as he caressed her forehead for a mere second, and walked out.

"You haven't paid the previous bills yet, you must hurry up. And, she had a relapse today, if not for the patient to notice it, something worse could have happened to her." Said the doctor without beating around the bush.

"Doctor, I...I will pay the bills. About the surgery, can you give me some more time? I...I don't have that much money at hand right now, I need time to gather such a big sum." Jonas begged the doctor to give him some more time to gather that much money.

Of course, everyone in the hospital knew that Jonas was a single parent to his baby sister and the only one who was paying all the bills for the treatments.

One of the doctors shook his head in disappointment. "You have wasted so much time already. Until you don't pay the previous bills and the deposit for the surgery, we can't do anything, you know it. You must hurry up." Said the doctor as he patted Jonas's shoulder and then left him alone. Everyone left him.

Jonas once again was dispirited, he was already perplexed by this news, but it wasn't that he never expected it to come his way, he knew someday a situation like this would arise, and he wasn't prepared.

He wanted to cry and whine, complaining to God why he had to make his sister like this and why should she suffer so much. But hiding his emotion in a corner, he returned to the room where his sister was assigned.

She was awake and looking outside the room, the blue sky over the top was beautiful and clear, and she liked it. But when she saw Jonas walk in, she shifted her gaze from the sky.

"How are you feeling?" Jonas asked as he sat beside her, touching her forehead and caressing her head gently as he pouted lightly.

"I am okay now, it's just that my head is in pain." Ari answered as she smiled bitterly.

Jonas continued to caress her forehead gently and smiled at her.

Ari just couldn't help but have multiple thoughts in her mind while seeing her smile so pure despite having many difficulties in life. To her, his brother was her savior, her guardian, and the one who loved her the most in the whole world. And can't imagine the world or life without him.

His slight touch and smile alone were enough to make all her pain disappear. But there is something that is wild and cannot be controlled.

Ari placed her hand on his hand which was on her forehead and spoke huskily, "Brother! Give up on me, let me die." Those were some heavy words she spoke.
