Chapter 10 - A New Mission

"Grandpa, I came back here because I want Grandpa to teach Dramon to control that mysterious power! Because I'm sure, Dramon will be able to beat Roxy with his abilities! Because just yesterday, Dramon overwhelmed Roxy when they fought!" Zarlia kept on babbling as he recounted the tension of the fierce battle.

"So you want to use Dramon just to fulfill your ambition?"

Zarlia fell silent.

Xior sighed wearily. "I have said many times that I give that power for good, not for revenge! Don't you understand?"

"I did, Grandpa! I've always been loyal to helping people with my strength during my travels! However, I can't accept the death of my family due to Roxy's cruelty! She must die!"

"It's useless if you expect Dramon to succeed in killing Roxy even though he is the strongest demon in the world."

"Why?!" Zarlia was disappointed.

"Because Dramon will lose if he uses his powers for revenge. Because anger will make him short-lived. Even though he seems strong at first, he will eventually lose. Do you want that to happen?"

Zarlia was wide-eyed. "How come? Even though I witnessed it myself, Roxy almost lost when she fought with Dramon!"

"It was only for a moment. Because the White Dragon gave his power to humans to protect the world, not to carry out evil ambitions or revenge. If Dramon continues to deviate from the agreement, that power will slowly disappear, and he will die as punishment."

"How did Grandpa know?" Zarlia looked at Grandpa suspiciously.

"Of course. Because I was there before you were born." Grandpa chuckled.

"That sucks! So I can't kill Roxy ever!"

"Ow…." Draco grinned.

"Thank Goddess! You've finally come to your senses!" Azeta smiled happily while crying in tears. Since earlier, the girl had faithfully waited for Dramon until he woke up from his fainting spell.

"Where am I?"

"You are in your room."

Draco was confused. "What happened? Shouldn't I have left already?"

Azeta remained silent because she was confused about how to explain it to Dramon.

"You've finally come to your senses, Loser." Zarlia suddenly came. "Hurry up and go!"

"Zarlia! Watch your words!" Azeta glared at her friend in annoyance.

"You don't have to meddle!"

"I'll interfere if I dare hurt Dramon!"

"Please, don't fight. My head is getting worse," Dramon complained.

"Ck! You both are useless humans!" Zarlia leaves.

∆∆∆

"Zarlia, I want to talk to you." Dramon approached the girl who was cooking.

"Are you blind? I'm busy!" snapped Zarlia. "Go away! I don't want to be disturbed!"

Dramon was so saddened by the change in Zarlia's curt attitude. "What's wrong with me, Zarlia? Are you angry that I intended to leave yesterday?" He guessed.

Zarlia chuckled sarcastically. "Don't be silly! I actually hope you get out of here soon!"

∆∆∆

Since that incident, all Xior's students have stayed away from Dramon. It wasn't that he smelled terrible, but they were afraid of being the target of his tantrums.

It made Dramon very lonely. Plus, Zarlia is increasingly indifferent and hates him for no apparent reason.

"Dramon, why won't you eat?" Azeta is sad to see her best friend always gloomy.

Draco smiled a little. "I'm not hungry."

"But you haven't eaten since morning. I don't want you to get sick." Azeta persuaded him.

Zarlia flashed in front of them, so Dramon reflexively chased after him.

"Zarlia! Wait!" Dramon grabbed the girl's hand, but Zarlia immediately brushed it off.

"Remove your hand!"

"Why are you suddenly mad at me? What did I do wrong? Please, tell me why?"

"That's because you are that Devil's nephew!" Zarlia couldn't stand being pushed around by Dramon anymore.

Dramon's heart hurt. "But that's not necessarily true, is it?" He tried to calm Zarlia.

"I don't need to know about it anymore because everything is clear!" Zarlia left, leaving Dramon stunned.

∆∆∆

"Everyone, line up!" Grandfather shouted loudly to order all his students to gather in the field. So did Dramon, Azeta and Zarlia.

"Now, I will distribute your group by group to carry out cooperative missions! Each group will be filled with four people!"

However, their gazes immediately fell on Dramon. They stared at him in horror and hoped they weren't put on the Dramon team.

Dramon lowered his head to avoid the intimidating stares of his friends. He was sad because, as long as he lived, everyone always hated and avoided him.

Dramon really hated the white dragon's power in his body.

However, he looked up when she felt a warm hand grip hers.

Azeta smiled sweetly to strengthen Dramon. She is sad when Dramon is gloomy.

"Group number 1 is filled by Azeta, Dramon, Zarlia, and Dogba!"

"What?!" Zarlia and Dogba widened their eyes.

"Yeah!" Azeta cheered.

"I don't agree, Grandpa!!" said Zarlia.

"I also!"

"You both can't protest!"

"Alright! I'm out!" Zarlia left the line.

"Zarlia! Wait!" Dogba caught up with Zarlia.

"Grandfather, please just transfer me to another team. I don't want Zarlia to hate me even more."

"We don't want to!" Everyone refused.

Xior took a deep breath. "You guys are really terrible." He looked at his students, disappointed. "Even though you have felt rejected by many people, in the end, you hate them and wonder what was wrong with you. However, now, you are acting as despicable as humans who often hurt you."

Everyone fell silent.

"Dramon and I will be a team! Let Zarlia and Dogba be a team! Let's split up!"

Xior snorted indignantly. "Alright, it's up to you."

"Now, you must find something I hid in the woods."

"What is that thing, Grandpa?"

"I do it to train your combat responsiveness!"

"Are you kidding me?!" Everyone is complaining.

"Don't protest too much! Quickly look for that thing!"

"Wait! I have one question."

"What?"

"Will we get a reward if we find it?"

Xior grinned mysteriously. "Good question. Of course."

"What is that?"
