Chapter 8 -- Dramon's Decision to Leave

Zarlia was busy cooking in the kitchen. After living alone, the little girl could do any job that adults often do.

"Zarlia."

The young girl turned when she heard Grandfather calling her. "Ya?"

"Can I talk to you?"

Zarlia was surprised to see Grandpa's expression. He was a little tense and worried, but Zarlia tried to smile. "Of course."

"I will be waiting for you on the terrace."

"Alright."

Grandpa Xior left Zarlia while the girl rushed to clean up all her cooking utensils before following Grandpa.

After finishing, Zarlia went straight to meet Grandpa.

The young girl found Xior pensive while looking up at the sky. Zarlia approached Grandpa, who was standing with his back to him.

"What did Grandpa want to talk to me about?" Zarlia was a bit tense. Maybe Grandfather would reprimand him for a mistake.

Grandpa took a deep breath before looking at Zarlia seriously. "Since when did you become friends with Dramon? And where did you meet him?"

Zarlia frowned in confusion until she was silent for a moment. Grandfather's question was classified as insignificant. "I met Dramon in Kalastar village." Zarlia still answered.

"How are the characteristics of Dramon's mother?" Xior asked like he was interrogating a criminal.

Zarlia was even more surprised. Grandpa seemed to know his friend's mother. "She's so pretty and green-eyed, Grandpa."

Grandfather nodded understanding. "You better be careful with that kid, don't get too involved in his problems." Grandfather patted Zarlia's shoulder with a gentle smile before walking back in.

Zarlia froze, contemplating Grandpa's words.

'What does Grandpa mean by saying that?'

Dramon feels happy because he has many friends his age who also live in the pavilion as Grandpa's students, so he doesn't feel lonely anymore.

After greeting Dramon, Grandpa's students returned to playing with his group. Dramon just watched them from the terrace of the house. He wanted to play, but no one asked him to. Maybe it's because he has yet to get a group from Grandpa. After all, he had just entered.

Azeta gave Dramon a rose with a shy smile. "Dramon, please accept this flower from me."

Dramon gasped in surprise and stared at the girl in shock. He received the rose with a smile. "Thank you very much."

"I hope we can become good friends."

"Of course."

"Do you want to come with me around the dormitory?" Azeta was excited.

Dramon nodded enthusiastically. "Sure."

The two walked around the garden. Azeta is always near Dramon wherever he goes. She doesn't want to leave him, so his friends make fun of the girl.

"What brought you here! Are you an orphan too?"

Dramon lowered sadly, his smile slowly fading. "Yes, how about you?"

"Same." Azeta chuckled carelessly. The girl did not look sad that Dramon was surprised.

"So all the children in this dormitory are orphans?" Dramon asked to make sure.

Azeta nodded. "That's right. Grandfather deliberately accommodated children who lost their parents to be trained to become strong. Because most of them were always discriminated against by the crowd, even treated arbitrarily."

Azeta looked sad despite smiling.

"Are you too?" Dramon guessed it was right on target.

Azeta stuttered. "H-how did you know?"

"Because of the many wounds on your body."

Azeta immediately looked at herself.

'This kid is brilliant.' Azeta was more amazed at Dramon. He is not only handsome but also a genius.

"Why are you smiling?" Dramon asked innocently.

Azeta shook her head. "Nothing."

The two of them resumed their journey. However, Dramon suddenly stopped walking. From afar, the boy accidentally saw Grandpa Xior and Zarlia talking with serious and tense looks.

'What are they talking about?'

"What's wrong, Dramon?" Azeta was amazed when Dramon stopped walking.

Dramon shook his head with a clumsy smile. "It's nothing. I have to go to the bathroom. Wait a minute."

"Okay."

Dramon ran away from the girl and approached Grandpa Xior and Zarlia to eavesdrop on their conversation.

"You better be careful with that kid, don't get too involved with his problems," Grandpa Xior suggested as he walked away.

Dramon was silent. His heart ached. It turned out that Grandfather Xior was not as good as he thought.

'If he won't accepting me here, he shouldn't have to pretend to be nice to me,' Dramon thought disappointedly.

Morning.

Dramon stepped out of the dormitory to leave. He didn't want his presence to get Grandpa Xior and Zarlia into trouble.

"Where are you going now?"

Dramon was surprised and immediately turned to the familiar voice. "Zarlia?! Why are you awake?"

Zarlia did not answer. She looked at Dramon sarcastically while crossing his arms.

Dramon lowered his head, not daring to meet Zarlia's sharp eyes.

"Why do you intend to run away? Have you forgotten your grudge?" Zarlia quipped. She was disappointed because Dramon was about to run away.

"No! But…." Dramon is very difficult to explain why.

Zarlia waited for Dramon's answer.

"I don't want to trouble anyone because of my presence," Dramon answered honestly.

"Whatever you, because I have no right to keep you here. But I don't want to see you again. Forever." Zarlia immediately returned to the dormitory.

"Zarlia! Wait! You just misunderstood! I didn't mean it like that!" Dramon shouted at the girl, but she entered anyway.

Draco took a deep breath. "What should I do now?"

He hesitated.

Dramon didn't want to leave Zarlia and Grandpa Xior. He was comfortable and happy living with them. However, if his presence only brings disaster, he is willing to stay away from Xior and Zarlia's life.

'I'm sorry, Zarlia. However, I must still go for your own good.'

Dramon didn't know the meaning of Grandpa's words to Zarlia yesterday. However, Xior can predict the future. Dramon suspects Grandpa doesn't want Zarlia to be friends with him because he is Roxy's niece.

He didn't know for sure, but there was a possibility that he was indeed the Demon King's nephew.

Dramon understood that his presence would provoke Roxy to hurt or kill those near him.

So he had to disappear from near them, forever.

Dramon left the house Xior.
