Chapter9: New World

[Poison Stake Mission completed]

[Host is rewarded 200xp to level up into the next level]

Arden beemed at this news, and immediately, a tremendous amount of Astro energy suddenly surged from within him, clustering and huddling till it condensed into a pure and vibrant yellow Astro energy which was considered to be of a higher grade.

Arden shivered in excitement as he felt the newly initiated powerful form of energy withing him. According to what he had heard from Evnor, In the rank of Astral servant, astral energy is always being condensed into a purer form whenever the Astral mage upgrade his or her strength. It seems that despite the fact that he was using a system, the same effects also happens in his body when he levels up.

At this moment, Arden was no weaker than Sir Micrio.

Suddenly a systems notification in which Arden was familiar with rang in his head.

[failure to complete the mission in time would be thorough evaporation in both soul and body]

"shit another fucking mission, when will all this stop anyways"

He suddenly heard a yelp coming from behind him as Evnor regained consciousness.

Arden quickly moved towards the alluring princess and helped her up.

"Are you ok?" he asked in concern.

"Am fine, just feeling a little dizzy.." Evnor conveyed in a soft voice but all of a sudden she paused as if coming to a realization and clamored. "Are we still alive, how are we still alive!"

To her question, Arden replied flatly, we are alive because the poisonous serpent king had no intention of killing us, it left soon after you went unconscious"

"is that really what happened?" Evnor muttered with a look of suspicion but Arden nodded seriously in affirmation. He didn't want sensitive information like Evshelf living inside his body getting out so easily as Evshelf who will offer him assistance from time to time had now become his greatest trump card.

"let's quickly get out of here before it returns, we don't have much time" Arden said as he led the way out of the chamber.

On the way, the two of them spotted two unconscious people who seemed to be in a deep sleep.

"Sir Althev, Noiter!" Evnor exclaimed as she dashed forth.

"oh, it's the guard and that troublesome girl, oh great, I wonder why she's still alive, someone as annoying as her shouldn't live long right" Arden thought inwardly to himself.

"Brat, that girl is under the influence of my forced sleeping technique, if you want her dead I can make it happen!" Arden almost jumped from shock when he heard Evshelf's voice coming from both corners of his ears, he reconed that it was transmitted directly to his soul with was still uncomfortable to him.

"you don't need to do that I don't really want her dead" Arden hastely came up with a reply before Evshelf could act, Although he detests an annoying girl like noiter and wish she could just disappear or due unexpectedly, it hadn't reached a point where he truly felt like killing her or want to have anything to do with her death.

"You're truly indecisive letting your enemy survive, back when this king reigned across the Astro world, even if an ant offended me I wouldn't let it off !" Evshelf spat disdainfully and went silent.

Arden was unresponsive to his remark, he didn't want to be influenced by Evshelf into committing actions that were against his conscience.

Not too far ahead of Arden, Evnor finally succeeded in awakening Noiter and the guard Althev after some light patting.

"Princess, thank goodness you're fine, we saw the remains of Sir micro and thought that something must have happened to you and rushed all the way here only to suddenly fall asleep under the influence of some mysterious power" Sir Althev recounted.

Upon listening to him, Evnor was once again saddened by the death of Micrio, even at this moment she still felt that she was responsible for it.

"Princess, how come your fine!" Noiter suddenly remarked curiously.

"it was all thanks to Arden, he appeared and saved me right when I and sir micrio were at our wits end. When the horde of serpents attacked us, arden miraculously appeared and saved us from the horde of serpents, but it is so sad that it was too late for sir Micrio at that time all because he was guarding me from the haorde of serpents." Evnor sadly conveyed.

"impossible!" Noiter stated.

"how could this young man defend you against a disaster in which sir Micrio failed to survive in" Even Althev felt that it was incredulous.

"Arden is very promising, he was somehow able to suppress the poisonous snakes with his might" Evnor came up with a random explanation as she didn't want to expose Arden's secret by telling the two about the existence of the serpent suppression pole. Even she didn't believe what she just said though.

"I don't believe it, he must have brainwashed your somehow with an evil technique" Noiter was very adamant in her belief as she said while shooting fierce glares at Arden as if he was the worst villain in the world.

Upon listening to her accusation Arden frowned and a powerful presence of the second stage of Astral Servant surged out of his person and enveloped noiter suppressing her. He finally thought that he should teach this little bitch a lesson lest she keeps on annoying him to the point of killing her in the future.

Noiter shivered in fright when the powerful presence which could crush her suddenly enveloped her and retrained her movements. When she turned over to the source of the presence, she found Arden giving her a chilling gaze.

It was only after Evnor looked Arden in the eyes pleadingly that he withdrew his impressive presence and unkind gaze from Noiter. Though he hated this little bitch, he couldn't afford to put the lovely princess in a tough position by acting against her.

After Arden withdrew his might, Noiter kept trembling as she gazed at him in fright while Evnor and especially Althev were flabbergasted.

It came to the greatest shock to them that Arden had racked up qto the level of sir Micrio in such a short time.

His talent simply was unheard of as he had ascended from the fourth stage of the celestial Novice into the second stage of Astral servant in merely a matter of days, even the most talented Astro mages they've heard of needed at least half a month time to accomplish such feet.

"young man, would you like to join the moon Elf clan as an auxiliary guard?" Althev rushed to rope in Arden into the moon Elf clan, there was no way he could let such a genus slip away.

If the moon Elf clan were to have such a genius in their mix, then it won't be a problem for the Moon Elf clan to defeat the other clans in the Evermore island and conquer it.

Evnor didn't say anything but her gaze reflected her surging anticipation to hear Arden's opinion.

"I'll think think about it on our way out here" Arden said. Considering the new mission in which he was given by the system, it was very much to his advantage to agree to join the moon Elf clan in order to gain a foothold in the Evermore continent however Arden thought that he'll look too eager if he immediately agrees to join them.

"Alright, I'll give you time to mule over it, lets leave here quickly" Sir Althev said as he took the lead. Noiter quickly tailed behind him followed by Evnor then Arden.

On the back to the entrance of the underground exit, the group treaded carefully but quickly at these time.

"You know, there will be a lot of benefits if you join the moon Elf clan besides, this princess will have a gift for you to pay you for your services" Evnor suddenly said out of nowhere.

"really?, just what kind gift is that?, are you going to offer yourself to me?" Arden remarked jokingly, it was his first time flirting with this alluring princess who's beauty was otherworldly.

Evnor flushed upon hearing Arden's s remark then a bright smile appeared on her face as she said. "if you really want this Princess, your have to earn her by stealing her heart, as things stand, you don't qualify yet"

"Ooh, then I guess I'll have to work harder then" Arden said.

"why don you start by joining my clan" Evnor smile became even brighter.

"ahh, still thinking about it"

"you better not let this opportunity slip by you Arden, auxiliary Guards acquire amazing privileges in my clan"

"do you care to ascribe?"

"As an auxiliary guard, you shall enjoy abundant resources to upgrade your strength, you will be awarded with a territory of you own to manage and a group of subordinates under your control"

"wow, this is amazing, I think I have reached a decision" After listening to Evnor, Arden was amazed and immediately came to a decision.

"What have you decided?" Evnor stared at him intuitively.

"I am joining the moon Elf clan" Arden declared.

"good, it looks like you've realized how amazing the benefits are to you" Evnor remarked.

"not very much, the reason I agreed, it's has a lot to do with your beauty, I'll surely win your heart" Arden muttered with a smile.

Evnor blushed, her cheeks turning red hue.

Not too long after, the group exited the bore hole, after learning about Arden's agreement to joining the moon Elf clan, Althev was delighted as he energetically led the way out of the forest of carnage. Noiter on the other hand was silent all the way and always avoided Arden like a plague, it seems that the girl had grown terrified of him after the previous incident.

"After we leave the jungle of carnage, what is the outer world called" Arden asked.

"it's called the new world" Evnor expressed.

The panic that had gripped his soldiers moments ago had turned into a stiff, defensive arrogance. "Emperor Arden," King Lue began, his voice carrying the practiced weight of a monarch. "You’ve made quite an entrance. May I ask why you’ve seen fit to shatter the ceiling of our sanctuary? We are in the middle of a global catastrophe, and you are wasting energy attacking allies." Arden didn't even flinch. He let out a dry, mocking laugh that echoed off the runic pillars. "Allies? Is that what you call yourselves now, Lue? I didn't come here to play diplomat. I came here because I sensed a group of rats scurrying in a hole while the rest of the world was out there bleeding." Arden’s

"We were out there bleeding for the world, and he was busy playing hide and seek with a blue crystal? I’ll peel that scorpion armor off him myself!" Arden didn't speak immediately.
