14 – TO ARREST OR TO NOT ARREST

“Sir, the police are here.”

The room fell into shocked silence as Jacob made the announcement. Alex stared at Derek with a raised brow.

“You were saying?”

Before Derek could reply, he turned to Jacob and ordered;

“Bring them in here immediately.”

“You’re bluffing.” Cole sneered, although he’d already begun to drip with nervous sweat. “The police are not here.”

Alex shrugged as Jacob exited the room. Exactly one minute later, he returned with three uniformed men towing behind him.

The moment Cole saw the officers, he began to tremble.

“I told you this was all a misunderstanding. There was no n-need to get the p-police involved.” He stuttered.”

“What’s going on here?” The first officer asked authoritatively.

Alex glanced at his badge.

“Thank God you’re here, officer Taj. This is a case of abuse. I met this man trying to assault this lady in a locked room. I heard her screaming. My bodyguard had to break the door down.
