“This is David Wyatt.” Tariq said, hurrying to his side. “He’s the new housekeeper and cleaner that Miss Maria hired. I just flew him in from New York City.”

Alex forced his lips into a smile and nodded.

“Yes, that’s me. David Wyatt. Wonderful to meet you.”

The guard gave him a scathing look and sneered;

“You have no business talking to me like we’re on the same level. You’re a cleaner. Shut your mouth until you’re asked to speak.”

Alex was on the very verge of taking just one step forward and giving that guard a piece of his mind but Tariq tugged on the back of his shirt in warning and he forced himself to remain silent.

He could not remember the last time someone spoke to him in that manner.

“I sincerely apologise.”
