Chapter 4:Shocking Change Of Destiny

"Sure, I want to meet him." Mark was serious about this because this information sounded weird in his ears.

"So far from what I know, your dad is secretly the richest man in the state, worth over one trillion dollars."

Mark gasped.

"The president claims he didn't join the plane with his dad, and he wants to meet you. So far he's been in hiding while investigating how his wife and her son will treat him. He already suspected they were pretending while he was living with them under his roof."

"Are you sure they aren't the ones that sent you to come here and kidnap me?"

Princeton stepped backward in shock. "No sir," he bowed. "I know your fear, but Jennet wouldn't need all this fleet to assassinate you. Besides, why will she do that today after you left her?"

This made Mark to at least believe a bit that it wasn't his stepmother doing.

"You have nothing to fear. You're in the right hands," he assured Mark. We did our research before we were able to track you down here."

Mark couldn't hold on to himself any longer.

"Stop!!!"

"This is a lie!" He reversed his trust.

His words were more out of shock than disbelief.

"We have no time to waste here now. Your dad demands your presence right now," Princeton stressed.

"Before I forget, the President has asked me to give you this." He made a signal to his assistant and he stepped forward with a brown envelope in his hand. He handed it over to him.

"This is your credit card, worth four hundred million dollars. Spend as much as you like. The President orders."

Preston couldn't talk. He was speechless.

"Okay," he could only say this.

"More will come after you sign the contract that has been prepared for you. All you have to do now is to follow us to meet with your dad. You will become the new President and all the assets will be transferred to you."

"What about Jennet and Brown?" Mark asked. "They had forcefully driven me off my rightful inheritance and taken over," he lamented.

"They have to pity themselves as their days are numbered," Princeton replied.

Mark smiled to himself. "I will handle them myself!" He grinned. He had already prepared a list of people to take his revenge on.

It was like a dream to Mark.

"How I wish Elena and Margret were a little bit patient, but right now, they can't reap where they did not sow." He said inside of him. "They will each receive the doze of mistreatment they have given me."

Mark got into the car with them. They arrived at the ultra-modern home estate mansion of the President, an hour's drive away.

"The president wishes to live far away to hide well, he doesn't want to be seen by anyone until he completes his mission."

"When will he complete his mission?" Mark asked Princeton.

"It's going to be completed as soon as your signature touches the contract paper."

He nodded his head as he heard it all.

They walked into the apartment where they assumed Darius lived. The doubt in Mark's mind was at its peak as they walked in. He was prepared to be disappointed only to find his dad sitting in the living room waiting for them.

Seeing him, he rose with a smile.

Mark turned to look back. "Hope this is not my dad's ghost?"

"No, not at all." Princeton and his colleagues were about to laugh but quickly held their laughter. They were before the President and the soon-to-be young President.

"Welcome my son," Darius walked up to his son.

Mark sighed. "I won't say I'm afraid of you Dad, but I'm just confused. I thought everyone saw you boarding the plane?"

"Are you unhappy seeing me alive?"

"No, not exactly so Dad," Mark said curtly.

"Good!" His dad gave him a thumbs-up.

"Dad?" He started. "You were proclaimed dead, and they even did a burial for you and granddad. Why didn't you come out and say you weren't the one, that you were alive?"

"Do you know how I've been suffering since you died, as they assume?"

"I'm sorry for the suffering you've encountered since the plane crash incident, but I wanted to investigate something. Now I see that your stepmother and her son are nothing more than traitors."

"I can tell you to believe this. I didn't join the helicopter to the end. People saw when I boarded it, the paparazzi snapped us. But along the way, I remembered that I had forgotten a crucial document. I had to ask the pilot to drop me."

"Upon getting the document and wanting to go again in another private plane of mine, I got the news. It hit me hard!"

"Seriously?" Mark couldn't believe he was hearing this. His eyes grew so wide.

Those who were present were the ones who hadn't heard the true news of his escapade before were thrilled now.

Now he saw this was going to take their minds off from what they were going to do, he asked for concentration.

"Let's finish with the contract process before we go over to any other thing."

"Yes, Dad. Let's get the contract signed." Mark replied, he was so eager. His heart was seriously beating. "We will move on to this much later."

So they settled down.

The lawyer hired by the President extended the contract already prepared for Mark to sign.

"And what's wrong with our main lawyer?" Mark asked of the lawyer his dad had hired initially for their company's legal affairs, the one he believed to have the original will. He was going to meet him and had already planned this before coming to meet his dad.

"Like we said, let's sign first!" His dad was serious about it. He knew how important it was.

"This isn't a big deal," Mark replied with a satisfied grin. He scribbled his signature on the papers within a few seconds, and he was now the President of the Darius Group of Companies.

The original and latest President!

The executives who had gathered there with the lawyer stood up and bowed to him.

"Welcome to power, our new president!"

He bowed too in response. His eyes were glowing, he couldn't just believe he left the house frustrated, only to turn into a billionaire President so soon.

This was indeed a miracle to him.

His dad cleared his throat. With this, he knew he had something important to tell him. He turned towards him.

"Yes, Dad?"

"Jennet was able to bribe him and get the original will, everything had been discovered by my private investigator." Mark gasped, while he sat down again, as he couldn't handle this news.

"Charles Patrickson, our former lawyer, was the most trustworthy person on earth. How did Jennet get to bribe him into betraying me, your son?"

"Well," Darius sighed. "Most of the time you need to pretend to be absent to see the true colors of people." These words struck Mark's brain. This was the truth, he saw it with his own eyes.

He fumed with anger.

"Dad, they have to pay for it!"

"I'll make them pay for it!" he swore.
