At the other side of the door, Dorian held open a large piece of paper, bleached brown with age. She laid it down on the table before . A map.

“Leonard, do you know what you are looking at?”

“Some kind of map.”

“Not just any map. The chart that points the direction of the Car.”

The pirate raised his brow at her.

“You don't believe me?”

He stayed silent.

“I used to work for a valiant and tenacious pirate. He also heard of the Car and decided to steal it, just like many other captains in those days. We drew a lot of maps, deducing and deciphering. We swept through the most plausible fields and found nothing. Finally, we ventured on a possible planet.

“Before we were able to explore the terrain, something terrible happened to my boss.”

“He was killed?”

“By the Federation.” Her features changed. Emotions hurdled up in her eyes but she didn't cry. Dorian never did. Her slatey eyes rather warned Leonard of the known and the unknown.
