Taa!
Taa!!
Taa!!!
"Haven't I warned you never to touch anything that belongs to me or my husband?"
The sound of the slaps echoed throughout the half-empty hall like a thunderclap, causing everyone to look in their direction.
This was the seventh time Alex Waynee, the family maid, had been slapped today.
His face burned red hot with anger as he glared viciously at Iris Douglas.
"What do you want to do..uh…do you want to slap me back?" Iris Douglas's voice is heard as she holds Alex Waynee by his shirt and lands him another hot Slap."
Taa!
"That serves him right…beat him up… that good-for-nothing bastard." The voice of Lady Karen Douglas was vehement as she ran towards the scene with Donald Douglas, her favorite grandson.
Iris Douglas was pulled away from Alex Waynee by her husband. Alex Waynee stood up, his shirt all rumpled from the struggle, and he gazed around, as tears wells down his eyes.
Shit!
He couldn't find Sandra Douglas, his fiancée, anywhere around.
"I have told you several times that you are no longer welcome here…go back to the orphanage you came from." Her eyes glinted with venom as she spoke viciously.
"Alexander!" Donald Douglas' voice breaks through. Since he was the eldest son everyone respected him, and silence came upon the room as his voice came through.
"I will advise you to do as my grandmother said…Janet rejected you for Tyler Wells and soon your Sandra…will also leave you for either Jose Louis or Jack Osborne…truly you have no place here."
He said as he twitched his nose in irritation.
Alex Waynee gazed at everyone, he was like a lone sheep surrounded by many hungry wolves, each person's gaze piercing through him like a predator sizing up its prey.
The weight of the world seemed to press down on his shoulders, making him acutely aware of his vulnerability in that sea of unfriendly faces.
"The man who adopted you is dead and long buried…so go back to the slums he picked you from."
"You are really a loser… you know that… how did you ever think you could come from nowhere and become part of this highly esteemed family… I mean look at you, you are nothing but a poor bastard."
Lady Karen's voice was hoarse, her face laced with disgust.
That last statement shocked Alex Waynee to his bone marrow, he couldn't take it as tears well down his eyes controllably.
He ran out towards the door, his eyes darted on the one he first loved, Janet Douglas, she immediately turned her eyes away, and he sped past her and ran to the only place he found peace in the whole of whistling meadows.
"Wait!!! You forgot your smelly handkerchief. Iris Douglas holds his handkerchief up with the handle of a mop stick, with a peg on her nose.
Everyone bursts into laughter as she mocks poor Alex Waynee.
—------------------------------------------------------
Stopping fast in his track, Alex Waynee yanks on the gate of the garden park.
Shit! The gatekeeper was gone.
With tears in his eyes, he retrieves a spare key and opens the garden park. He had made a spare the day Mr Parker left him the keys and went home.
The garden was serene, only the harmonious sounds of the birds filled the air, their melodies weaving together like a soothing lullaby that transported anyone who listened to a tranquil dream-like state.
Rushing to the wishing well, he gazed into it, teardrops from his eyes falling freely in the deep well, rippling the water's mirrored surface as though each one had a wish in it.
"I really don't understand why Lord Jerry Douglas would take me off from the orphanage and bring me here, I was better off at the orphanage."
"I wished I was really rich and influential… I will step on all who humiliated me." His voice was laced with sadness.
"All this wouldn't have happened had my parents not died in that accident that night."
"Master Alex Wayne!" A voice suddenly broke the silence in the garden.
"I have been searching all over for you."
Alex Waynee turned in shock. Standing before him was a man whom he only had childhood memories of, he was dressed in a black Saint Brioni suit, his cover coat flickering in the wind.
"What are you doing here? haven't Lord Luthor caused me enough pain already… and don't pretend, I know all the story." Alex Waynee's voice was hoarse, his eyes gazed at the man standing in front of him.
"Master Alex Wayne, I brought bad news…Lord Luthor Wayne is dead."
He said as he knelt, removing his cap, he bowed down to Alex Waynee.
"Wait! grandfather is dead?" Alex Waynee says tears welling down his cheeks.
"His last wish was that you return to the Waynes immediately for your safety."
"A good friend of yours leaked your whereabouts to me…I and your grandmother, Lady Margaret Wayne, have been searching for you since the day we found your parent's body at the site of the accident." He sighs deeply.
"Am deeply sorry for your loss…but…you must return with me at once to the Wayne's for your protection." He lifts his face and gazes straight into Alex Waynee's eye.
"What do you mean, my protection?" Alex Waynee says, his voice tremulous as he paced around the garden.
"The same night your dad and mom fled the mansion… all your uncles and their sons were assassinated, making you the only…"
"Living heir to the Waynes global empire's wealth," Alex said, still pacing around, his face smeared with trepidation.
"Master Alex! You really have to come back to the Waynes…"
"No way… the mansion where my uncles and my cousins were murdered…what of Ray, was he killed too?" His voice was tremulous.
"Sadly! Yes… not a single heir survived."
"I really can't go with you back to that house, not until I have found the one who is behind all this." His voice is Ortund.
Eric Raymond, his grandfather's butler stood up.
"Lady Margaret Wayne said you wouldn't agree to come…at least not yet… so she insisted you have your grandfather's premium elite card… it has access to over 100 million dollars…" stretching out his hand to Alex Waynee.
Alex Waynee turns his back on him.
"What's the meaning of this… is this Lady Margaret Wayne trying to make up for all the years the Waynes had left to suffer…to be humiliated like a dog by nobodies?" Anger reeked all over him.
"I assure you that is not the case… master Alex… but you need these funds to survive while you and I figure out the culprit behind the murder of the Wayne's…I suspect the accident that took your parents lives was planned?" Eric Raymond is now sitting on the well.
"But by who?... You know what, I will have the access card… I have some payback to do." His face glinted as he smirked.
"Not just that, Lord Luthor had purchased almost all the companies back at Beethoven clove and the popular Elvis global empire was purchased 2 days ago by Lady Margaret Wayne in your name… these are the documents." He says as he hands over a file to him.
"Also, Lord Luthor Wayne insisted you have his Elite smartphone, it's the only one in the country, it has all the number of the most influential people in whistling meadows, Beethoven clove and across the country… any call placed from this phone is treated with utmost urgency and respect."
"I also came with a VIP pass to the best hotel, where you will now be living and some Rolls Royce just in case you want to travel.."
"How many Rolls Royce did you say you came with?" Alex Waynee asks, his eyes furrowed in astonishment.
"Just 14, Master Alex."
"Just 14, Are you kidding me? What am I supposed to do with 14 Rolls Royce…open a car stand?… that wouldn't be necessary…I will just keep the elite card, the smartphone and the documents."
"Your number is here right?"
"Yes sir."
"That would be all, I appreciate… Who did you say, told you about my location again?"
" A dead man." Eric Raymond said laughing as he made his way out of the garden park.
Moments later…
Alex Wayne is running towards the venue where the Douglas family had their end-of-the-year party, he could hear the voice of Sandra Douglas screaming, it was as though someone was beating her.
Oh my God!
Sandra, what have they done to you?
"What do you mean you wouldn't ditch that loser Alex Waynee for Jose Louis…a more handsome, prominent young man?" Sandra Douglas is standing staring at Lady Karen Douglas in bewilderment, although she isn't that surprised as this wasn't the first time her cousin's wife, Iris Douglas had pulled off such a stunt. The other day, Sandra Douglas almost ended up beating her for insulting her fiance."Grandma, I am not surprised that you would take Iris's side on this matter as usual." She shakes her hair in disbelief."So what…do you want me to take sides with you when all you have decided is to bring disdain and shame to this family by rejecting Edward Hinnbergs?" "Do you know that you just destroyed our one opportunity of becoming more prominent… if you had married Edward Hinnberg, we would have merged both families' companies into one powerful financial conglomerate." She says as her heart heaves up and down in vexation. She was really angry that Sandra Douglas had chosen Alex Waynee o
"Lets go" Sandra Douglas pulls him out the revolving door."Who the hell was that man…and why were the both of you staring at each other with so much venom in your eyes?" Her voice was tremulous, as the both of them held hands and crossed the road to enter the Douglas global empire. The building was a magnificent one, an eight-story building with a helipad that could carry two choppers. The building was meticulously constructed to match the opulent and sophisticated taste of Lady Karen Douglas. The building's architecture and interior design were a testament to her impeccable style and preference for luxury. The windows were adorned with intricate stained glass patterns and framed in ornate gold leaf, allowing natural light to stream in, casting a warm and inviting glow throughout the grand hallways. Each window was a work of art, a fusion of form and art that perfectly complemented the overall building aesthetic."Oh! You mean the guy that had his face seared by a blade… am not sure
"Grandma! You wouldn't be serious about letting Sandra leave the administration, right? Donald Douglas's voice is laced with fear as he paces up and down Lady Karen Douglas's office. The office was a beauty in the making, the backdrop behind Lady Karen Douglas displaying the numerous business grand awards she had won, an impressive tableau that seemed to stretch out for miles."Relax, Donald… I know what I'm doing… how did you think I was able to get Janet to ditch Alex Waynee even though your grandfather had betrothed her to Alex Waynee before his mysterious death." Her voice was hoarse as she continued to sign the files on her desk without sparing Donald Douglas a glance."Grandma, as I am talking to you she is done packing her stuff and she has already left the complex…Grandma! do something…you realize Sandra Douglas plays a crucial role in this company…removing her now that we have more competitors out there in the market…wouldn't be in our favour." His voice was reeking with trep
"Shit!"Watch where you are going…you just slipped hot coffee all over my shirt." The voice of Edward Hinnberg was laced with anger, raising his eyes, his demeanor changed immediately. His fist clenched, and he gritted his teeth, his heart heaved up and down in anger. His eyes were ablaze as he set them on the one who had ruined his presentation outfit."If it ain't you bastard!... What are you doing here…did you miss your way to the market…c'mon let me see the list of things your mother-in-law sent to go get at the market…the market is that way bastard." His voice was laced with pure hatred as though every word was dripping venom, his eyes burning with a furious intensity that could ignite a wildfire of conflict at any moment."Edward…am really sor…" Those words didn't come out of his mouth completely as Edward completely emptied the remaining coffee on his head and over his black shirt."This should teach him to look properly and not walk around without his eyes, bumping into people
Who is this man that has been stalking me? What the hell does he want from me? What does he know about my mom and dad Charles and Jessica Wayne? All this and many thoughts ran through his mind as he stared intently out the window of the 7th floor of Dex Palm palace. He had a bottle of wine and a plate of lasagna on his table. It was a cold evening, the sun was just setting beyond the horizon, casting a warm amber glow that painted the rooms in the hue of orange and gold. The rich aroma of the lasagna filled the air, blending with the fruity notes of the wine. As he took a sip of the wine and a forkful of the lasagna, he couldn't help but appreciate the simple yet comforting beauty of the moment. The Dex Palm Palace was just one of the luxury hotels Eric Raymond had secured for him today. Staring intently at his grandfather's smartphone, he thought of the best way to punish that animal that calls himself Gwen Falls. Swiping through his phone he searched for Gwen's YouTube chann
"Did you say he didn't see this message?" His voice is laced with authority as he turns her hand back to her face."Wow! That wasn't there 10 seconds ago!" She stared deeply into Alex's eyes."Alex Waynee!""I know all your secrets…I know everything you are hiding." Her voice is hypnotic."You say what now?" "I know all your secrets…I know who you truly are beneath." Her voice was hypnotic as she gazed intently into Alex Waynee's eye. Trepidation reeked all over Alex Waynee's body, beads of sweat building down his cheeks. 'How on earth did she find out who I truly was?' 'Does she truly know?' This and many thoughts ran through the mind of Alex Waynee as he stared into the eyes of Sandra Douglas, his face expressionless. "So when were you going to tell me?" She said as she sipped her wine, her eyes reeking all over Alex Waynee as though trying to suck the secret right out of him, the weight of her question hung in the air as the tension between them thickened. "Tell you wha
Waking up early due to excitement, Sandra Douglas steps into the bathroom to take her bath. Alex Waynee couldn't help but stare at her through the opaque glass door of the bathroom. He gazed as the warm water cascaded down her body like a soothing waterfall. Her laughter filled the room, a joyful melody that danced with the steam rising from the hot shower. The scent of lavender soap filled the air, intertwining the hum with her favourite song playing on the radio. With every drop of water that fell from her, Alex Waynee's dream of making Sandra Douglas his own tightens. He couldn't fathom another man having Sandra's heart and waking up to the enchanting site he just witnessed. It was a memory he would never forget, Sandra had such lovely skin.He watched as droplets of water clung to her skin, like liquid diamonds, each one a reminder of the moments they shared.Moments later…"Wish me luck, baby." Sandra's voice was hypnotic as she held Alex Waynee's soft hands. Her gaze was so inte
Stepping into the office area, Sandra Douglas gazed at the super complex, the building was over 200+ storeys, and in front of this towering giant, a vast expanse of lush, impeccably manicured grassy area stretched out.The scent of freshly mowed grass wafted on the breeze, the area provided a tranquil oasis amidst the concrete and steel. The building stood as a testament to luxury and opulence, its design an extravagant symphony of modern aesthetics and cutting-edge technology. Each window reflected the wealth and aspirations of a great master craftsman. The sheer height of the building made it a quintessential icon of status and achievements in the city.Truly Elvis's global empire was a place where dreams were turned into reality, where innovation met extravagance, and where the sky was quite literally your standing point.Moments later…"Miss Sandra Douglas, welcome to Elvis global empire, let me show you your office." The voice of Mr Mark caused Sandra to shudder.Mr Mark had his
