Quantin remained motionless, his finger still in contact with the trigger.

" What's happening? " he exclaimed.

A silence fell. Within a minute, the lights came back on, but Rao had vanished.

" This is impossible! " Quantin roared.

He leaped to his feet and scanned the room, incredulous. Rao had truly vanished.

Furious, Quantin struck the wall with his fist, scraping the expensive wallpaper with his knuckles.

" You can run, but you can't hide! I will chase you to the ends of the earth if necessary! Meena will be avenged! "

Then, he stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind him. As he walked down the corridor, Rao's security guards suddenly emerged from the shadows, blocking his path.

" Halt ! Drop your weapon! " one of them ordered.

Quantin quickly pointed his gun at the guard who had just spoken.

" Step aside or I'll shoot! "
