Chapter 46 :The alliance

Jayden's face fell.

" However, a child is a blessing," he solemnly declared.

" Not this one," Jasmine exclaimed angrily.

Sensing his sister's distress, Jayden spoke gently to her.

" We will find a solution together, won't we? You won't be left on your own."

Jasmine began to silently cry. Large tears streamed down her pale cheeks.

" I feel extremely trapped, and this baby is likely to ruin my life," she thought.

[A few hours later...]

Jayden was dozing off in his chair, exhausted from the long and challenging day he had spent comforting his sister at the hospital. With his head tilted to the side, he was fast asleep.

Jasmine observed him for a moment to make sure he was sound asleep before carefully extricating herself from the hospital bed. The cold linoleum made her bare feet shiver as she tiptoed towards the door.

She cast one last affectionate glance at her brother before silently slipping into the dimly lit, deserted hospital corridor. The fluorescent lights were turned off.
