Chapter 3 : Beginner's Perk

A bright light then shine before my eyes and blinded me. I close my eyes, not able to face them. After a few seconds, Affa's bright voice then reaches my ear.

(Ta-da!!! it's your beginner gift, sir!! take a look!!)

Urge him as I open my eyes to see it,

Dudun*

A screen window displayed in front of me shows a few words and an item. But before I read all of it, what catches my eye the most is that item.

"This..."

A small item with a suitable length to carry. It's something that has always been with me in my past world while I was in my class. A teaching stick or pointer made of rattan. Such an Asia thing for me.

"What a nostalgic item..."

Remark me as I click on the item on the window without Affa telling me to. The item then drops on my left hand that I click on it.

I eyed the item a couple of times before slashing to my left to try it first.

swoosh*

A sound comes out through my action. It's a satisfying sound to my ear.

"in the past, every time I take this out... I remember my student flinched and look down unconsciously. haha* I don't understand why they act like that."

Chuckle me, reminiscing about the past. Affa stares at me with a fearful expression.

('isn't its because you always punish them with that?')

He could guess quite well why this sir's student acted in such a way even though this sir did not. And this time, despite his bad thought about him, the system for once decides to ignore it, as they also agree with his thought.

I stop my action before thinking of removing it from my hand and it quickly disappears. My eyes then observe what else is in there. But there is only a line of words left.

[As a beginner perk, your body will instantly level up to level 50 and one item is given to you at the bottom of this message.]

Level up and an item. It really is not much of a perk for me. After all, isn't usually in the game a player will receive more than this? So I don't know whether to jump for joy or cry in despair over such a simple thing like this.

"is this really a perk? or the system is messing with me?"

[(T_T)]

The system then shows me a sad emoticon at my accusation. But I didn't bother to care as Affa chimed in.

(of course, it's a perk, sir!! you can doubt it because you don't know... but the truth is, this body that you reside in is only at the level of 15!!!-)

"Yes-yes I know he's weak. So don't bother to say anything more..."

(...yes.... alright, sir. Because you have his memories, of course you know, sir. if there's no more, can I proceed to the tutorial, sir?)

"do it."

Affa then proceeds to explain everything about me and this body, including this world.

Thru his explanation, there are a few things that I understand.

First of all, my UnEd soul level is already at the max level thru a quest and action that I did in the past.

(There's a quest that the UnEd soul's owner needs to do in that world, and you did all 49 quests out of 50 without you realising it and the Universe still count it... but you can't use the abilities or power you received from such level up because you are not awakened.)

Secondly, when I ask him why I can't awaken and use my power, he told me that my body at the time is not suitable enough to handle that power.

(if you use UnEd soul power in that body, you will explode before even using it.)

Thirdly, when I ask him whether I could see window-like game information of me, he says,

(Of course, however, we didn't display it all like a game window. What we show was only a bit of your info, your level, skill and student count compared to your UnEd soul's info. Ah, of course, we show your hp.)

The display will show side by side and my stat won't be shown, but I do know that it's all max for UnEd soul while Dhaffa's body stat will take half from it like the level. The reason why they didn't display it is that,

(We are too lazy to display it. And besides, I think it's useless to show it to sir, cause you will understand everything after my next explanation.)

Or so he says. And the summary for Dhaffa info is like this,

Name: Dhaffa Arman

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Level: 50

Hp: 50,000 (+500,000)

Passive Skill: World Blueprint (Unlock)

Active Skill: Midas Hand (Unlock), ???.

Student Count: 3

While at its right side, my UnEd soul's info is like this,

Name: Dhaffa Arman (UnEd Soul)

Age: 60

Gender: Male

Race: Half-human

Level: MAX (Half unlock)

Hp: MAX

Passive Skill: Sharing is Caring (Unlock), Butterfly Effect (Lock).

Active Skill: Eyes of Educator (Unlock), Educator Judgement (Lock), My Student My Law (Lock), ???.

Student Count: 4900

He told me to click on the student count to view the available students. But when I argue with him about the number of my students that appear different from the count, he says,

(As a teacher with 70 students per semester for 35 years, the count was indeed depicting just that. However, not all of those students of yours can be counted as true students by the system. What's left on the display among all those 4900 students, is what we system concluded are suitable to be admitted as your students. The student with level 50 and above that shows growth and is affected by your teachings. Not forgetting their firepower.)

UnEd system had its way to distinguish the superiors among them. That's why the moment I click on that count, the amount that comes out is less than 100.

But i'm not disappointed at all with that number. Even with that much, it's enough for me to reach the max for my soul, so it's quite an alright result from my point of view. It just,

"why the hell am i half-human?"

It's really questionable. After all, I have been living my life as a human for the past 60 years, suddenly someone told me that I'm a half-human. is that even make sense?

(ah...well...because of your UnEd soul... the Universe judge you so.)

"That's just fuc- I mean, haa... they really put me in that sense just because of my soul...fuhh..."

(....)

Affa fell silent listening to my murmuring. He doesn't know how to answer that. I immediately changed the topic of our talk, because I felt that there would be nothing we could get from the continuation of it.

"So then... how can I level up my current body??"

(Be a teacher!!! that's the only thing that you need to do!!!)

Ding*

[A new quest is now available]

'A new quest...'

my eyes narrow. The quest window then displays the details of it.

[Reach Level Max Quest]

[This quest is linked with the previous quest of Revenge. By levelling up to the Max, new clues for your revenge will become available.]

[All you need to do is keep teaching!!! And grow your student to the best of your abilities!! As long as they level up and are affected by you, your level will automatically rise!!]

But a certain level-up on them only might level me up. Like my previous world student, this world student that I got might need to reach level 50 and above too.

So I ask,

"is it the same condition as my previous world?"

(exactly, sir. You just need to do and act just like in your previous world and your level will eventually up by itself!!)

I nodded my head in understanding his explanation.

If that's all to it, then, there's nothing much I could do. I only need to act like before, however, if i follow those paces blindly,

'I might only finish my quest when I already grow older.'

because the time limit for this quest, after all,

[Time Limit: Infinite]

Just like that revenge quest, it's infinite. So taking my time is fine for the system. But not for me.

'there's no way I want to wait that long...'

After all, I don't want to waste my second life teaching forever.

I want to live my life too.
