As Jason and Ashley sat in the park, Jason couldn't help but rehash the feelings of hurt he had because of the way Ashley had been treating him.He had always considered her a friend, but lately, she had been avoiding him and acting distant, so much so that he wondered if or not he was wrong about that.He couldn't understand why she was acting this way, especially now that he needed her the most. Sure, her father had made some mistakes and done a few things that had made her uncomfortable, but none of that was his fault, and he didn't understand why he was being punished for it. Now they both sat in the park saying nothing, the silence suffocating them, and it made him inexplicably angry. "Hey, Ashley," Jason said, trying to get her attention. "Can we talk for a minute?" He had had enough of the quiet. He had had only that for company over the phone for the last few days, and now they were in front of each other, no way they were not going to have the conversation. Ashley looked u
As they were walking back to school from the park, Ashley told Jason about the teacher's plight, giving him some much needed perspective that he hadn't had before. "She's having a hard time in the school, anyway because of the guys," Ashley said. "If you fire her, you would be doing her a favor." After dropping that bombshell, she continued to walk ahead of him, kicking a rock like it was a makeshift football.Jason was surprised by this and stopped moving. When he realized and caught himself, he jogged over to her side. "How can firing someone be a favor?" he asked, perplexed. He stood in place and stopped walking, urging her to do the same. With a groan, Ashley looked at him, her expression serious. "Because you can use your rich status to help her. You can get her fired dishonorably to soothe the big five, but at the same time, offer her a better job with a better pay at a better school or even the company where you are a shareholder. Besides, I know I sound like I've been against
Mrs. Finley raised an eyebrow in surprise but motioned for him to continue. As he spoke, she became increasingly shocked and angry. According to Jason, a group of students had hatched a plan to get her fired by planting drugs in her car and then anonymously tipping off the administration.Mrs. Finley couldn't believe that her own students would do something so malicious, but she was also worried. She was a single mother who relied on her teaching job to support herself and her daughter. Losing her job could mean disaster for her family.Jason seemed to sense her hesitation and quickly reassured her. He explained that he had connections in the business world and could help her find another job if she was fired. He promised to protect her and make sure that she never had to worry about finding work again.Mrs. Finley was hesitant, but she could see that Jason was genuinely concerned for her well-being. She asked him if he was sure that he could pull off something like that, and he assur
Although he wasn’t fully in support of the Big five, he had to join in to save their teacher. To beat them down and gave them the assurance that all was well, he visited them first.“Hey peeps” he saluted them all.As if they were expecting him they all said in unison“What’s up with the plan”.He could see that they are not ready to back down so he just had to play along with the plan.“You all should relax, take some chill pill. Things are still in place and yes, it’s been perfected. There’s nothing to worry about”This statement by Jason sooth their mind and ease them off the tension of whether things will go well or not. They somehow have some respect for Jason now although they try so hard not to show it.“I know you are all bothered by the too much goodwill and strictness of Mrs. Finley but I am assuring you that this time, she will be out of school totally.” Jason added to his speech. In a relaxed and calm tone, Jacob said “if we can have her out, I promise to give you a few do
Mrs. Finley was in so much disbelief. She would have wished what Jason told her wasn’t true. Now that they were the truth, she have to fight her way through it and by doing so, she needs to go ahead and pretend like she doesn’t know anything about the plan. “What exactly it is that you are talking about?” Mrs. Finley said restricting her hand from landing on him. “Did I lie? You touched me and you want me to concentrate in your class? What a small thinking mind”. As he said, all of the class exclaimed. That was too much for any teacher to take in. What was more surprising is that some of the students in class who were a bit close or had had contacts with Mrs. Finley never had any reason to call her a pervert so this was shocking to the entire class. “What makes you think Mrs. Finley is a pervert?” Anna, one of the cool kids in class spoke up. “Yes, I have been to her severally and we’ve even had a tutor session more than 2 hours and she never made a move on me. Am I not a boy too?
All of the students, returned back to their class but couldn’t help having something to say to the matter at hand.Although no student admit to the wrong of the teacher while at the principal’s office, they all had different opinion when they got to their classes. Some students believed that she did it claiming to have had an encounter with her. “She has been like that.” Said a girl in grade 4. She was so certain in her assertion.“How did you know?” Another student asked her. This time around it was a male student who is so convinced that Mrs. Finley was not that type of teacher.“I may be wrong or right, but the way she is always strict with the boys and always picking on them is enough for suspicion.” She responded.“That is not enough to ascertain that she is a pervert. And if I should remember so well, she picks on you just like she picks on any male because of your inattentiveness in class.”The line of argument went on and on and some were only just happy that she is going to b
The principal didn’t bother about his worried look as soon as he came out facing his class mates, the principal continue with his speech.“Although many of you have all it takes to be role model to others. That attribute alone is enough to get far in life. In this life of ours, we can agree that having influence is great. I mean positive influence. When you have what others do not, it’s best to retain yours and help others with it.” He made a stop as to know whether the class was still following. As he was moving forward, Jason was already calming himself believing him coming out must have been on a positive note. The principal continued. “Life didn’t give us all a fair share of it therefore some people have what others do not. Even the most wretched man might have something precious to a billionaire. It could be an idea or information. Do not look down on people’s intelligence. That is a very bad thing to do. To get better in life, you need to help those around you.”“I have been wor
The plea of Ashley won’t be heard and the teacher won’t say anything. It was such a disgusting sight. Not even one person was free from corruption. Now, Jason was no longer panicking rather he is angry that he had trusted the wrong person. He couldn’t believe that his own Mrs. Finley that he had thought of helping and teaching the wrong students lesson was going to turn her back on him. What could they have offered her? He kept wondering, Did they threaten her? Or she is just being an asshole. He couldn’t wrap his head around what he has gotten himself into. He had risked all he had to get justice but it seems like justice does not even exist. He can’t even hold on to karma. Why is everything going against him. The adults have failed in their duties to protect the interest of the minors. If the principal could look away from justice and his teacher is doing the same, then he can’t blame the younger ones for being insolent.Ashley kept finding means for her voice to be heard, just Mrs
