Chapter 5: The Venom Curse

Bella suddenly had an allergic reaction that her body convulsed violently and incessantly.

The doctors in the room gasped in shock.

The blood vessels on her body suddenly protruded, appearing thick and black, contrasting with her fair skin, creating a gruesome sight.

She continued to convulse, and her mouth widely opened as if gasping for air.

The heart rate monitor beeped alarmingly.

Scarlet, the tough woman, screamed at this moment.

With anger, she rushed forward, grabbing John by the collar, and demanded.

"What have you done, you wretch?! What's happening to Bella?!"

John's face was filled with fear, and the rest of the doctors in the room were terrified too.

John looked at Scarlet in panic, cold sweat running down his forehead. He stammered.

"N...no, I...I don't know..."

Scarlet, without hesitation, pushed him away with force.

John fell to the ground, his back in pain.

Before he could react, Scarlet's cold voice rang out.

"You idiot! I should never have trusted your foolish diagnosis!"

Saying that she quickly walked towards Arthur, who said John's diagnosis was wrong.

And now, everything had proven him right. He was the only hope for her and her Bella.

Scarlet looked sincerely at Arthur and said anxiously.

"Mr. Arthur, I made the wrong choice but please save my innocent sister."

After saying that, she wanted to kneel.

Arthur caught Scarlet and said.

"You don't have to, I will."

Even if Scarlet didn't come begging for him, he would have still come forward.

Scarlet looked gratefully at Arthur, and the regret in her heart for not trusting him grew even stronger.

Arthur quickly went to Bella, and the doctors instinctively made way for him.

However, Dr. John was still stopping him from Bella, for the reason that Arthur had denied his diagnosis and treatment.

Though he was truly wrong, he wouldn't allow anyone else to doubt him.

"Miss Scarlet, you can't believe such a layman, and the hospital won't allow the man even without a doctor's license to do the treatment."

Dr. John insisted on not letting him heal Bella, which irritated Scarlet.

She walked over Dr. John and was ready to give him snaps, but Arthur stopped her.

He stood in front of John, face to face, overlooking his smooth top and making a bet.

"If I can't save Bella, I will cut all my fingers as the cost and apologize  to you."

“But...what if I saved her, what will you pay?”

Arthur squinted his eyes and stared at him.

Dr. John was frightened by the murderous look in his eyes and tremblingly replied.

"I...I would...would apologize to you if... you could."

He was scared of Arthur's confidence and imposing manner, feeling a bit regret at this moment.

"Just apology? Not enough. One more, quit your job as a doctor if I do."

Then Arthur went straight toward Bella regardless of Dr. John's respond, leaving him worried and scared aside.

Bella was no longer convulsing, but her condition was worsening.

Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Arthur took out a few acupuncture needles from his coat.

People only saw Arthur inserting the needles into various positions on Bella's body.

One is in the middle of her chest, one in the middle of her forehead, and the remaining on her wrist.

The miracle happened quickly as Arthur stopped his movement. Bella's heart rate quickly returned to normal.

However, the black blood vessels on her body had not disappeared, and her mouth remained pale.

Nevertheless, her symptom stabilized eventually, which froze Dr. John in shock.

Agitated, Scarlet looked at Arthur and said.

"Please, please save her. You can, you can really do it."

Arthur nodded, his expression calm as he replied.

"Find me a toad."

Scarlet didn't understand why Arthur needed a toad.

Arthur could sense her doubt and said, "It's necessary for the treatment. I can only stabilize her symptom for only an hour."

Hearing this, Scarlet quickly ordered her subordinates outside the room to find toads.

At that moment, there was a glimmer of hope in John's eyes, he immediately spoke.

"How can such nonsense be possible?"

Scarlet glanced at him, her gaze as cold as if it could slice him in pieces.

John was startled for a moment but quickly regained his confidence and said.

"The disease could be relieved thanks to my medication. His meaningless actions won't help at all! He's just lucky because of me."

John's assistants, on the side, also nodded quickly.

Scarlet sneered and walked toward him, not hesitating to slap him. She coldly said.

"If it weren't for Arthur, my sister would probably die! Irresponsible scum like you have no right to speak here!"

John's face became red. He looked at Arthur, who remained aloof and didn't even glance at him.

John grew even more furious and he felt as if he were a lone clown dancing and jumping around!

At that moment, the door was open. The toads were brought in.

Scarlet quickly brought them to Arthur and urgently said, "Arthur, please save Bella."

Arthur smiled faintly at Scarlet, saying, "Don't worry, she will be fine."

Scarlet became slightly calmer because of Arthur's words.

Arthur turned and, when facing the bed, he prepared to pick up a toad for treatment.

The guard who brought the toad quickly reminded him.

"Please be careful. This creature is poisonous."

Arthur nodded, and something magical happened.

The toad he picked up was obediently in his hand, motionless, which stunned almost everyone in the room.

Only Dr. John sneered, he didn't believe that a toad could cure the disease.

"How ridiculous? How can a magician or an animal trainer become a doctor? If this ugly creature made sense, I would eat it."

As he spoke, he began to laugh.

Unexpectedly, Arthur suddenly turned around. He smiled and looked at John, saying

"I truly look forward to it."

John suddenly felt a chilling sensation down his spine and he couldn't be maintained his smile anymore.

Arthur continued with his work. He brought the frog close to Bella's mouth.

Then, in a place where no one could see, Arthur's finger moved slightly.

Immediately, an invisible stream of energy flowed into the needles inserted into Bella's body.

The miracle happened. It was obvious that those black blood vessels on Bella's body rapidly receded and her symptom quickly returned to normal.

Just when everyone thought it was over, a spine-chilling scene occurred.

Bella's mouth suddenly opened widely, and a snake, as thin as a child's finger but nearly 20 centimeters long, emerged from her mouth.

The toad on Arthur's hand immediately caught the snake and devoured it.

The faces of the people present became highly unsightly, and some almost felt nauseous at the sight they had just witnessed.

Scarlet sat down on the hospital bed, and her expression bewildered as she embraced her sister.

Meanwhile, John had collapsed to the ground. His face was as pale as a sheet of paper.

As for the toad that had devoured the snake, it twitched for a moment and then died.

A black mist, invisible to ordinary people, emerged from its mouth.

The mist seemed to attempt to escape, but a powerful force suddenly pulled it back.

It was drawn into the ring on Arthur's hand.
