Chapter 7: She's Like a Queen

On the way to the hotel, Scarlet couldn't contain her excitement.

"I thought your medical skills were surprising enough. But I was wrong, and your martial arts have widened my horizons. You were truly amazing handsome at that moment!"

Pausing momentarily, Scarlet suddenly laughed and jokingly said.

"I even felt a flutter in my heart at that moment. I might have a thing for you."

Arthur didn't care about her words.

There's still a woman that he couldn't forget.

Two of them, each with their own thoughts, were driving on the road.

... ...

In the Bauhinia Hotel, owned by Scarlet, she had prepared the most expensive presidential suite for Arthur.

Moreover, to show her gratitude, she invited him for a dinner.

They went to the largest dining room on the hotel's top floor, where they could overlook the beautiful city at night while enjoying the meal.

As Scarlet went to the restroom, Arthur ordered some Chinese dishes on the menu.

Thinking that the date today was her birthday and she loved those dishes, he missed her so much!

How hopeful he was to celebrate the birthday for her!

Suddenly, arguing sounded from outside the door.

Arthur furrowed his brows slightly, walking toward the door to see what was happening.

Just then, he heard a voice proclaiming angrily.

"...We had reserved this dining room in advance. What do you mean by this?!"

It was a family consisting of a mother, a daughter, and a son.

And a handsome young man was holding the young female's hand, seeming that they were a couple.

In front of them, the manager remained calm and rational as he explained to the people present.

The manager bowed and apologized.

"Sorry! But currently, this room is on duty now, and we will arrange another one for you. All expenses for today will be free for you."

It could be said that waiving the entire consumption was good for them, because it was always expensive in Bauhinia.

However, it seemed that they were still not satisfied.

Especially the young man, who spoke loudly.

"We had reserved it. Do you know who my brother-in-law is?"

If he could have dinner in the most luxurious dining room in Bauhinia, his friends would surely be in awe of him.

Besides, the money was not even his, and he didn't mind spending it.

Moreover, who was his future brother-in-law? He was the heir of the Gullweger family!

Jacob felt no fear at all. Mrs. William, Jacob's mother, screamed loudly.

"Yes, we've made a reservation. "

Mrs. William was a single mother, whose family used to be quite poor.

Now that she could live a wealthy life, she always spent extravagantly showing off her wealth.

The manager didn't think that this family is so difficult to deal with.

"But our boss is in the room already..."

Jacob was almost furious. Raymond also furrowed his brows slightly.

He had booked this room to celebrate his loved one's birthday.

How could he willingly be driven away like this?

At this moment, a voice mixed with astonishment suddenly sounded, "Jessica?"

Arthur didn't expect to encounter Jessica here, who had once been his passionate love.

Seeing her again, she hadn't changed at all, still beautiful and as gentle as ever.

Jessica looked at Arthur with surprise too, her expression extremely complicated.

Ultimately, she could only tightly hold Raymond's hand and draw closer to him.

Then a loud and piercing voice cut through the tense atmosphere.

"You scoundrel, what are you doing here?!"

It was Jacob. He furrowed his brows, his face turning red with anger.

He glared at Arthur viciously, without hesitation in warning.

"You scoundrel, don't think I don't know what you're thinking. Do you want to get back with my sister after all the disgusting things you've done?! Dream on! A criminal like you is not worthy of my sister!"

Jacob's cursing voice brought Arthur back to reality.

He didn't know how to face Jessica and Raymond. One had used to be his fiancee, and the other, his best friend.

He knew that Jessica still hated him doing that in at their wedding night and Raymond hated him hurting his cousin, but it was a conspiracy...

Mrs. William quickly said.

"Exactly. You scum! How do you get in the hotel? Don't attempt to get close to Jessica again! You're just a poor ex-convict, with nothing in your hands."

"Keep away from her! You traitor!"

Arthur looked at the hostile faces of Jacob and Mrs. William.

Their once sycophantic expressions flashed in his mind.

He slightly clenched his hands, a hint of darkness in his gaze.

But Mrs. William continued.

"Do you understand what I'm saying? You're no longer worthy of Jessica while Raymond is the perfect match for her. They will soon be engaged!"

Arthur was really taken aback.

He temporarily suppressed his somber expression and looked towards Raymond, seeing their tightly held hands.

The three of them were good friends from college, and both Arthur and Raymond were infatuated with Jessica.

Ultimately, Jessica chose Arthur, but Raymond was still their best friend.

However, that incident happened, and no one believed him, he had no chance to clarify for himself.

He knew they wouldn't trust him. Since didn't believe him three years ago, and even less now.

It seemed reasonable for them to get together...

Though he felt something having disappeared in his inner heart...

After a while, Raymond suddenly spoke, "Arthur, it's been a while since we last met."

"Perhaps you overheard the conversation just now, right? I booked this room for Jessica's birthday. Since you just walked out of the room, I assume you are the owner of this room now, right?"

Then Jacob spoke loudly before Raymond continued his words.

"If you still love my sister, you should give up this room to us!"

Arthur narrowed his eyes at them. He regained his composure. He spoke lowly.

"I'm not the one that booked it."

But clearly, Jacob and Mrs. William didn't trust him.

Mrs. William speculated immediately, "You've just been released from prison. Where did you get the money to book such an expensive room?"

Jacob immediately said, "That's right, he's a criminal. He must have stolen the money. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to afford a room like this!"

Saying that he looked at the manager and said loudly, "Don't you see? Quickly call the police! There's a thief here."

The manager diplomatic smile on the face was about to disappear.

Arthur found it funny but he felt extremely unhappy being framed again.

All of a sudden, a powerful female's voice echoed!!!

"Who dares to call my guest a thief? All the security guards here, are you dead? Can any big talk villain wander in the hotel?"

With the sound of high heels stepping on the floor, a queen-like woman showed up.
