Heroic death

The elders inside the formation were so terrified that they used the voice transmission orb to contact the sect leader, who is the strongest, and ask him to come help them.

"Don't be foolish, if it was possible to communicate with others outside, do you think I would be standing here doing nothing?" said Elder Gui, catching a glimpse of the transmission orb.

"Does.. does that mean!"

"Yes, no one inside can communicate with anyone outside, and those outside cannot communicate with anyone inside. However, if they have reached the Qi Lord realm, they will have a chance to stop; unfortunately, no one in the entire nation has reached that realm."

The elders' faces darkened; no one wanted to lay down their lives for something so stupid.

"He was praised so much that he returned home with a sealed demon core; now one of us must lay down our lives so that this does not turn chaotic; how useless? It would have been preferable if he hadn't made any moves at all." One of the older people snorted.

"You! I know you've always been envious of my son since the day you found out about him; if it was your son who accomplished this, wouldn't you be proud as well? You're so brazen." Elder Lui simply wanted to express his frustration and anger, and the elder who spoke just now has been able to assist him in achieving his goal.

"Both of you act maturely, you're all hundred plus and still arguing like babes, we have to make a decision faster, we only have less than three minutes to make a decision or we will all be blown up to death as well as this sect, it will crumble just like that sect twenty years ago."

They looked into each other's eyes, searching for someone willing to lay down their lives.

"I'll take care of it." The oldest of them all raised his hands and volunteered to give his life for the sake of the others; seeing his hands in the air made the other's face turn sad.

"Elder Sun, your name will never be forgotten in the crushing tiger sect's history; generations and generations to come will know of your heroic action." Elder Gui sat, but expressing his emotions would be futile right now.

"Who cares about death and reputation when I've been alive for three hundred years? Even with my crippled meridian, I was just a step away from reaching the grandmaster realm. Just make sure the crushing tiger sect never falls to the ground, I'd be happy in the land of the dead if we reached the top 50 in world sect ranking, just do that and I'll know you guys really appreciate my sacrifice, and also take care of my grandson, he's the only person I have in this world, just tell him his gramps has travelled faraway." Elder Sun wears a bright smile on his wrinkled face.

"Elder Sun."

"Old Sun."

The elders were so moved by his words that they began calling out his name nonstop.

Elder Sun removed a small knife from his spatial ring; it was small, but it was extremely valuable. Its grade should be at least 7-star, and seven-star weapons can feed ten families for a year while still leaving enough money to buy a new 1-star weapon.

"Give this to my grandson; the sect and my grandson should share the technique inside the spatial ring." He tossed them both into the air before flying towards the array's central point.

Then he shot his eyes and fell on it; the central point appeared to be a normal rock surface, but when the elder Sun body touched it, it transformed into a large energy sword that stabbed his heart.

After his heart was stabbed, his body began to disintegrate into tiny specks of light that were sucked into the array, and the formation crumbled after two minutes, freeing all the elders.

Elder Gui's face was filled with guilt as he pulled out his most valuable weapon and stabbed it in the middle of the mountain top where Elder Sun had laid his life for them.

The other elders followed him and did the same; when they were finished, their weapons began to vibrate, emitting a sharp beam of light that pierced the cloud.

With sad faces, they flew to the bottom of the mountain and formed an array that barred others from entering; this location is now considered sacred by the sect.

"It should be called the Elder Sun's Resting Place." Elder Gui let out a sob, his grief lodged in his throat; he was a strong man, but Elder Sun's action was very touching.

Fortunately, everyone was safe because of him; his goal is to make the sect one of the best in the world, which the crushing tiger sect will work hard to achieve.

....

A few hours later, all the disciples of the crushing tiger sect were gathered at the bottom of the mountain, looking at the beam of light piercing the sky.

The disciples released auras of various colors based on their elemental attributes, such as orange for flames, green for plant manipulation, black for shadow, and grey for metal benders.

If a drone is sent into the sky to view the situation from above, the photo that results will be one of a kind, colorful, and show how united they were and how much they loved their elder.

"Elder Sun's grandson is only ten years old; it would be heartbreaking to lose the only one he has left in this world; I'll make sure he doesn't feel sad; his grandfather is a hero who gave his life to save us; his deeds can never be looked down on." A female disciple with a green aura wiped her tears away and sobbed even more.

"Elder Sun was the best; he taught me my first cultivation technique and told me that I could cultivate even though I was a cripple."

"He said I can cultivate even though I'm deaf and dumb."

Everyone who heard the last speaker turned to look at him, as if they saw poop on the floor.

"You can be deaf and hear, dumb and talk perfectly well, and if you want to lie, just tell a believable lie. If a fool hears this from you, he will call you a bigger fool."
