Astrid was shocked. "You arrogant piece of trash! This is Mr. Reginald!"
"Reginald?" Kai sneered and interrupted her. "He’s just a leech living off women—don’t tell me you actually think he’s somebody."
Astrid's lips were trembling, she snapped, “You piece of…”
But before she could finished, Reginald stepped forward and kicked Kai straight to the ground.
A sharp jolt of pain shot through Kai's ribs as his back hit the pavement. His breath came out in ragged gasps.
Reginald loomed over him, furious.
“How dare you touch me?!” His voice was a low growl.
Kai clenched his teeth, pushing himself up, but Reginald shoved him down again with his foot.
“You’re nothing, Blackwood,” he spat. “A pathetic, delusional nobody who actually thought he could compete with me.”
“Fuck you!” he huffed with clenched fists, his body trembling but the moment he tried to move, Reginald stepped on his head hard in an extremely insulting posture and crushed it with force.
Kai’s breath came in ragged gasps. His vision blurred. A deep, primal rage bubbled in his chest. He absolutely could not be humiliated like this by these two scoundrels, never!
Kai exerted force once again, the muscles in his sturdy forearms bulging. He found the right moment and pushed himself up with all his might. A full-force punch, raw and desperate.
CRACK!
Reginald's body jolted. His head snapped back, and he flew off Kai, hitting the ground with a thud.
The entire yard went silent.
Kai staggered to his feet, his body trembling. His hands clenched at his sides as he stared down at Reginald, who groaned in pain.
For the first time, fear flickered across Reginald's face.
Kai exhaled sharply.
"Not so tough now, are you?"
Reginald glared up at him. "You son of a.."
Before he could finish, Kai was already on him.
His fingers wrapped around Reginald’s throat, lifting him off the ground like he weighed nothing.
Reginald’s eyes widened in terror. He clawed at Kai’s grip, but it was useless.
Kai’s voice was cold, unrecognizable. "You wanted to break me?" He tightened his grip. "Let's see who breaks first."
Reginald's face turned red. His legs kicked wildly.
"Kai, STOP!" Astrid’s shrill scream cut through the air.
Kai didn’t even spare her a glance—Astrid meant nothing to him now. Whatever love he once had for her had been scorched to ash by the venom in her words.
All he wanted now was to make Reginald pay. This was the price of underestimating him!
But in the next second, a sharp, searing pain exploded in Kai’s skull. His grip went slack. He staggered back—and turned.
It was Astrid. She’d smashed a vase over his head.
For a moment, everything inside him went cold, heavy, like stone. He hadn’t planned to go after her anymore—he was ready to walk away. But she chose to strike first.
Astrid’s face paled, guilt flashing through her eyes. Fear crept in too—she had never seen this look on Kai’s face before. It was terrifying.
“Guards!” she shouted toward the door, trying to mask her fear with false bravado. “Grab him!”
A wave of confused bodyguards rushed in. When they saw their boss, Reginald, bleeding and injured, they instantly surrounded Kai.
“Kill him!” Reginald bellowed, clutching his neck, rage twisting his features. “Or none of you are leaving this place alive!”
With that, he leaned on Astrid and hurried out of the house.
Behind them, blades flashed—cold steel in, blood out.
For a moment, the only sound in Kai's ears was that of the blade piercing flesh. The pain engulfed him, yet the unwillingness in his heart prevented him from closing his eyes just like that. He shouldn't and couldn't die like this!
The next second, a searing pain shot from his wound, growing hotter by the second, as if his sinews and bones were about to be incinerated, only to be reborn!
Then…
BOOM.
A shockwave erupted from his body.
The guards were sent flying like rag dolls in an instant, crashing into walls, the sidewalk, and cars. They groaned, trying to stand up, and then beheld a terrifying sight.
Kai was like a devil returning from the abyss, a faint red light wave lingered around his body. His face was ferocious, his eyes blood - red, sending chills down one's spine.
In the next second, the light wave moved towards his body, and those wounds gradually began to heal. His body, which had been dripping with blood and riddled with holes, became completely unharmed in an instant!
This must be a haunting!
Kai came to his senses and saw the guards, each one scared out of their wits, screaming and dashing towards the door.
He looked at his own body in disbelief. What on earth had happened?
But before he could make sense of it, a roaring gust of wind hit the top of his head. Frowning, he walked toward the street. Then he heard the low, powerful hum of engines.
There was three massive helicopters hovering over the sky. And the largest and most luxurious helicopter began its descent...right in front of him!
The entire street froze. People stood rooted to the spot, eyeing Kai's retreating figure curiously and whispering among themselves.
Kai’s muscles tensed. Was he in trouble? What the hell was this?
Then the doors opened.
A woman stepped out.
Elara Vasquez!
The wealthiest woman in Dominus City. The most powerful business mogul. Ruthless. Unshakable. Untouchable.
Then, in front of everyone, she bowed slightly.
“Young Master,” Elara said, her voice smooth, authoritative. “The Master wishes to see you.”
Kai’s brows furrowed. Young Master? They must had the wrong person.
His voice came out low, firm. “I think you’re mistaken.”
Elara’s gaze didn’t waver. “No, Young Master. We are not.”
Kai glanced behind her. The other helicopters were still hovering. Inside the landed one, figures in black suits waited, their expressions unreadable.
This wasn’t a request.
Kai exhaled. He had no choice... going against such powerful number would only lead him to death.
With measured steps, he walked forward. The moment he boarded, the doors shut behind him.
As the helicopter rose, he glanced down.
The people in the streets were staring in awe. Some still had their phones out, recording.
Whispers filled the air.
“Wait...that’s Elara Vasquez! The most wealthiest woman in Dominus City! She bowed to him?”
"Last time, she flung the mall owner out without hesitation! And now, she's bowing to that guy? Who the hell is he?"
The videos spread like wildfire. Within minutes, the internet exploded.
Who was the mysterious man Elara Vasquez personally escorted?
Could he be some mysterious billionaire?

27: The Eye That Sees All
Kai's eyes flashed open. A harsh, sterile light seared his vision, and a jolt of pain arched through his body. His muscles screamed with fatigue, each breath a reminder of what he’d unleashed back at the club. His bones felt too heavy, his skin too tight. He wasn’t just tired, he was drained. Everything ached. Especially his head… and more strangely, his right eye. It throbbed deep in its socket, pulsing like it had a life of its own. He winced and groaned softly trying to figure out just what was wrong with him. “Kaiden?” Abigail’s voice called beside him, sharp with worry. She had been sitting by his bedside the entire time and instantly leaned closer. “You’re awake! Are you okay? Should I call the doctor?” He shook his head weakly, his voice low and cracked. “No… I’m fine.” That was a lie. He felt like death warmed over and all he wanted to do was lose consciousness again so all the pain would go away. But seeing the concern on her face, he didn’t have the heart to add

Abigail was trembling, panic bursting in her chest as she stared at the chaos. She couldn’t stop crying, couldn’t stop screaming his name. “Kai...please! Please stop! You’ll kill them!” But he wasn’t listening. He couldn’t. Kai stood in front of the crumpled bodies of Conrad and Reginald, his fists soaked in blood, his chest rising and falling like a caged beast. His entire body radiated heat...violent, unstable heat. His veins glowed faintly under his skin, and the air around him was vibrating. She could see it. Feel it. The burn in her palm still stung. He was gone. Whatever part of him was still human… was buried under the madness. Kai could hear her...her sobs, her pleas but it was distant, like echoes inside a dark tunnel. The bloodlust, the pain, the humiliation they had caused... it surged through him, adding fuel to a fire that refused to burn out. Conrad whimpered, barely conscious, his hand dragging feebly on the floor. Reginald was slumped against the wall, nose br

Her eyes fluttered open weakly and locked on him. “Kai…” That broken whisper was all it took. Something inside him snapped. His pupils dilated, the veins in his neck bulged, and the room’s air warped. A visible shockwave blasted outward from his body, knocking back furniture. The glass chandelier above trembled violently, cracking at the edges. Conrad turned around, stunned. “What the f—” He never finished. Kai’s figure vanished in a blur of motion. (THIS IS AN EXPLICIT SCENE, PLEASE MOVE TO THE NEXT CHAPTER IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT, THANKS.) The room reeked of alcohol and sin. Abigail's head throbbed. Her limbs were heavy, her vision blurred. Something was wrong. Her throat was dry like sandpaper, and the heat crawling under her skin wasn’t natural. She struggled to sit up, but her body refused to obey. Across the room, laughter. Conrad Lin. He wasn’t drunk. He wasn’t high. He was waiting. Her family had collapsed one by one, slumped over the table or against plush leather couches, unconscious from the drug-laced wine he had poured with fake smiles and false sincerity. Abigail had taken only a few sips, but it was enough to dull her defenses. Now she was cornered. Conrad stood in front of her, tie loose, breath heavy. The grin on his face wasn’t amused anymore. It was hungry. "Tch," he clicked his tongue, looking over the passed-out bodies. "Useless lot. Wasn't after them anyway." He turned to Abigail. She tried to cra
23: The Invitation That Reeked
After stepping out of the Luricor building, Kaiden Blackwood glanced sideways at Abigail Alfred. She looked more relaxed now, her cheeks flushed with victory. For the first time all day, she smiled without tension and he was glad he was able to help her. “I owe you a meal,” Kai said, hands tucked into his pockets, his voice low, "A congratulatory meal." Abigail smiled and opened her mouth to answer but just then, her phone buzzed. She frowned. “My mom.” Kai nodded for her to pick up. “Hello?” Abigail answered. On the other end, her mother’s voice was unusually sweet. Too sweet. “Hello my darling, sorry I'm disturbing but it's really urgent, so Conrad Lin wants to apologize. He invited us to dinner tonight and we have very little time to get ready, please head home soon.” Abigail blinked. “Conrad?” “Yes,” her mother continued. “He even asked your Aunt Matilda to mediate. You know how awkward it’d be if we refused. He says it’s just a simple dinner. No drama.” Abigail’s jaw cl

The Luricor lobby was a full-blown circus. Reginald was still shouting like a madman, jabbing his finger toward Abigail and Kai. “They bribed him! That’s how they stole my project!” he roared. “This is slander! I worked for that deal!” People gathered, murmurs swelling. “Isn’t that the guy from the wedding scandal?” “Same one. The fiancée who got beat up and the fake gift drama...” “Now he’s crying corruption? The irony’s too much.” As the whispers grew louder, the elevator dinged. The noise dropped instantly. Thane Jackson stepped out, surrounded by assistants and two suited security guards. His expression was cold, razor-sharp, like a man used to cutting heads without lifting a blade. The moment he saw the scene, he didn’t even blink. “Call the police,” he told the secretary beside him. “Now.” Reginald’s roar died in his throat. Thane pointed straight at him. “I just got the internal report. Reginald Thompson. It was your company that conspired with Conrad Lin for an ill

Reginald had been restless all morning. Ever since the wedding fiasco, his mood had been foul, his calls unreturned, and his ego bruised. Still convinced that Kaiden was just a lucky bastard who happened to win a bet, Reginald wasn’t too worried. But there was one name that haunted him, Elara Vasquez. If she really was close to that loser, and if she truly meant the things she said that day... he could be in trouble. He had to confirm something. “Get dressed,” he told Astrid sharply, tossing her a purse. Astrid frowned. “Where are we going?” “To Luricor. I need to see Conrad. If he’s still working there, that means the cooperation is safe.” “But you’ve been calling him for hours...” “And I’m done waiting,” Reginald snapped. Soon, they arrived at the sleek glass building of Luricor, one of the Gyrix Group’s most important subsidiaries. Inside the lobby, Reginald marched up to the front desk, dragging Astrid behind him like a disheveled accessory. “We’re here to see Conrad.”
20: The Collapse of Arrogance
The living room had never been so quiet. The only sound was the occasional buzz of disbelief flickering through the minds of Abigail’s family as they stared at her phone screen. The number sat there, bold, undeniable. 500 million yuan. Abigail’s hand trembled slightly. “It’s real,” she whispered again, mostly to herself. “It’s... real.” Her mother gasped and dropped to her knees beside her daughter, tears welling in her eyes. “Thank you,” she said to Kai, her voice cracking. “Thank you, young man. I don’t know what miracle brought you here, but... thank you.” Her father stood, walked to Kai, and held his hand tightly with both of his own. “You’ve saved this family. I don’t know what we did to deserve this grace... but we will never forget it.” Kai gave a half-smile, his expression calm, unbothered, as if dropping half a million was a daily routine. He glanced toward Aunt Matilda, who stood frozen like someone had just slapped her soul out of her body. Her teeth clenc
19: The Bet.
Kai stepped into the lavish Alfred estate, escorted by two grim-faced servants. He kept his posture relaxed, dressed in a plain black shirt and sneakers, yet his calm energy filled the space before he even reached the main sitting room. Abigail rushed to meet him halfway, her eyes betraying more nerves than she wanted to admit. She grabbed his arm, gripping tightly not too forcefully, but enough to say don’t mess this up. The family seated in the spacious parlor looked up as one. Some eyes narrowed. Others lit with curiosity. But as soon as they saw what Kai was wearing, the air chilled, they barely replied to Kai’s greeting. “So this is the boyfriend?” Aunt Matilda scoffed, folding her arms and looking at Kai with hatred that could burn, “He looks like he just walked out of a student hostel.” Conrad, clad in designer wear and reeking of smugness stood and gave Kai a disdainful once-over. “Not much to look at. Abigail, are you really this desperate? What do you see in such thin
