Chapter 36: A miracle

Jeremy was devastated; he began packing his things to leave. He regretted ever meeting the cloned man by the roadside, who had proclaimed that he was the chairman.

While he was packing up, Rose opened the door and came in. Seeing him packing, the message was clear enough: Jeremy has been fired.

"Rose, I need you to believe me; it was a huge mistake. I never thought for one second that this would backfire on me." Rose felt emphatic for him.

"I understand, but then again, this is a big country, and there are so many scammers around. These people would study a situation and then put themselves in a position where they would honestly believe that they were doing the right thing, not knowing they were just fooling around." He began to mutter curses at the one who had scammed him.
